2^CAnd there went³²¹² a man³⁷⁶ of the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Levi,³⁸⁷⁸ and took³⁹⁴⁷ to wife a daughter¹³²³ of Levi.

^2C And the woman⁸⁰² conceived,²⁰²⁹ and bare³²⁰⁵ a son:¹¹²¹ and when she saw⁷²⁰⁰ him that he was a goodly²⁸⁹⁶ child, she hid⁶⁸⁴⁵ him three⁷⁹⁶⁹ months.

^3C And when she could³²⁰¹ not longer⁵⁷⁵⁰ hide⁶⁸⁴⁵ him, she took³⁹⁴⁷ for him an ark⁸³⁹² of bulrushes,¹⁵⁷³ and daubed²⁵⁶⁰ it with slime²⁵⁶⁴ and with pitch,²²⁰³ and put⁷⁷⁶⁰ the child³²⁰⁶ therein; and she laid⁷⁷⁶⁰ it in the flags⁵⁴⁸⁸ by the river's²⁹⁷⁵ brink.

^4C And his sister²⁶⁹ stood³³²⁰ afar off,⁷³⁵⁰ to wit³⁰⁴⁵ what would be done

^5C And the daughter¹³²³ of Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ came down³³⁸¹ to wash⁷³⁶⁴ herself at the river;²⁹⁷⁵ and her maidens⁵²⁹¹ walked¹⁹⁸⁰ along by the river's²⁹⁷⁵ side;³⁰²⁷ and when she saw⁷²⁰⁰ the ark⁸³⁹² among⁸⁴³² the flags,⁵⁴⁸⁸ she sent⁷⁹⁷¹ her maid⁵¹⁹ to fetch

⁶ And when she had opened⁶⁶⁰⁵ it, she saw⁷²⁰⁰ the child:³²⁰⁶ and, behold, the babe⁵²⁸⁸ wept.¹⁰⁵⁸ And she had compassion²⁵⁵⁰ on him, and said,⁵⁵⁹ This is one of the Hebrews'⁵⁶⁸⁰ children.

⁷ Then said⁵⁵⁹ his sister²⁶⁹ to Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ daughter,¹³²³ Shall I go³²¹² and call⁷¹²¹ to thee a nurse³²⁴³ of the Hebrew⁵⁶⁸⁰ women,⁸⁰² that she may nurse³²⁴³ the child

^8C And Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ daughter¹³²³ said⁵⁵⁹ to her, Go.³²¹² And the maid⁵⁹⁵⁹ went³²¹² and called⁷¹²¹ the child's³²⁰⁶ mother.

⁹ And Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ daughter¹³²³ said⁵⁵⁹ unto her, Take³²¹² this child³²⁰⁶ away,³²¹² and nurse³²⁴³ it for me, and I will give⁵⁴¹⁴ thee thy wages.⁷⁹³⁹ And the woman⁸⁰² took³⁹⁴⁷ the child,³²⁰⁶ and nursed

^10C And the child³²⁰⁶ grew,¹⁴³¹ and she brought⁹³⁵ him unto Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ daughter,¹³²³ and he became her son.¹¹²¹ And she called⁷¹²¹ his name⁸⁰³⁴ Moses:⁴⁸⁷² and she said,⁵⁵⁹ Because I drew⁴⁸⁷¹ him out of the water.

^11C And it came to pass in those days,³¹¹⁷ when Moses⁴⁸⁷² was grown,¹⁴³¹ that he went out³³¹⁸ unto his brethren,²⁵¹ and looked⁷²⁰⁰ on their burdens:⁵⁴⁵⁰ and he spied⁷²⁰⁰ an Egyptian^4713376 smiting⁵²²¹ an Hebrew,⁵⁶⁸⁰ one of his brethren.

^12C And he looked⁶⁴³⁷ this way³⁵⁴¹ and that way,³⁵⁴¹ and when he saw⁷²⁰⁰ that there was no man,³⁷⁶ he slew⁵²²¹ the Egyptian,⁴⁷¹³ and hid²⁹³⁴ him in the sand.

¹³ And when he went out³³¹⁸ the second⁸¹⁴⁵ day,³¹¹⁷ behold, two⁸¹⁴⁷ men⁵⁸² of the Hebrews⁵⁶⁸⁰ strove⁵³²⁷ together: and he said⁵⁵⁹ to him that did the wrong,⁷⁵⁶³ Wherefore smitest⁵²²¹ thou thy fellow?

^14C And he said,⁵⁵⁹ Who made⁷⁷⁶⁰ thee³⁷⁶ a prince⁸²⁶⁹ and a judge⁸¹⁹⁹ over us? intendest⁵⁵⁹ thou to kill²⁰²⁶ me, as thou killedst²⁰²⁶ the Egyptian?⁴⁷¹³ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² feared,³³⁷² and said,⁵⁵⁹ Surely⁴⁰³ this thing¹⁶⁹⁷ is known.

^15C Now when Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ this thing,¹⁶⁹⁷ he sought¹²⁴⁵ to slay²⁰²⁶ Moses.⁴⁸⁷² But Moses⁴⁸⁷² fled¹²⁷² from the face⁶⁴⁴⁰ of Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and dwelt³⁴²⁷ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Midian:⁴⁰⁸⁰ and he sat down³⁴²⁷ by a well.

¹⁶ Now the priest³⁵⁴⁸ of Midian⁴⁰⁸⁰ had seven⁷⁶⁵¹ daughters:¹³²³ and they came⁹³⁵ and drew¹⁸⁰² water, and filled⁴³⁹⁰ the troughs⁷²⁹⁸ to water⁸²⁴⁸ their father's¹ flock.

^17C And the shepherds⁷⁴⁶² came⁹³⁵ and drove them away:¹⁶⁴⁴ but Moses⁴⁸⁷² stood up⁶⁹⁶⁵ and helped³⁴⁶⁷ them, and watered⁸²⁴⁸ their flock.

¹⁸ And when they came⁹³⁵ to Reuel⁷⁴⁶⁷ their father,¹ he said,⁵⁵⁹ How⁴⁰⁶⁹ is it that ye are come⁹³⁵ so soon⁴¹¹⁶ to day?

¹⁹ And they said,⁵⁵⁹ An Egyptian^4713376 delivered⁵³³⁷ us out of the hand³⁰²⁷ of the shepherds,⁷⁴⁶² and also drew¹⁸⁰² water enough¹⁸⁰² for us, and watered⁸²⁴⁸ the flock.

²⁰ And he said⁵⁵⁹ unto his daughters,¹³²³ And where is he? why is it that ye have left⁵⁸⁰⁰ the man?³⁷⁶ call⁷¹²¹ him, that he may eat³⁹⁸ bread.

^21C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² was content²⁹⁷⁴ to dwell³⁴²⁷ with the man:³⁷⁶ and he gave⁵⁴¹⁴ Moses⁴⁸⁷² Zipporah⁶⁸⁵⁵ his daughter.

^22C And she bare³²⁰⁵ him a son,¹¹²¹ and he called⁷¹²¹ his name⁸⁰³⁴ Gershom:¹⁶⁴⁷ for he said,⁵⁵⁹ I have been a stranger¹⁶¹⁶ in a strange⁵²³⁷ land.

²³ And it came to pass in process^19927227 of time,³¹¹⁷ that the king⁴⁴²⁸ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ died:⁴¹⁹¹ and the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ sighed⁵⁸⁴ by reason of⁴⁴⁸⁰ the bondage,⁵⁶⁵⁶ and they cried,²¹⁹⁹ and their cry⁷⁷⁷⁵ came up⁵⁹²⁷ unto God⁴³⁰ by reason of the bondage.

²⁴ And God⁴³⁰ heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ their groaning,⁵⁰⁰⁹ and God⁴³⁰ remembered²¹⁴² his covenant¹²⁸⁵ with Abraham,⁸⁵ with Isaac,³³²⁷ and with Jacob.

²⁵ And God⁴³⁰ looked⁷²⁰⁰ upon the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ and God⁴³⁰ had respect

3^CNow Moses⁴⁸⁷² kept^19617462 the flock⁶⁶²⁹ of Jethro³⁵⁰³ his father in law,²⁸⁵⁹ the priest³⁵⁴⁸ of Midian:⁴⁰⁸⁰ and he led⁵⁰⁹⁰ the flock⁶⁶²⁹ to the backside³¹⁰ of the desert,⁴⁰⁵⁷ and came⁹³⁵ to the mountain²⁰²² of God,⁴³⁰ even to Horeb.

^2C And the angel⁴³⁹⁷ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ appeared⁷²⁰⁰ unto him in a flame³⁸²⁷ of fire⁷⁸⁴ out of the midst⁸⁴³² of a bush:⁵⁵⁷² and he looked,⁷²⁰⁰ and, behold, the bush⁵⁵⁷² burned¹¹⁹⁷ with fire,⁷⁸⁴ and the bush⁵⁵⁷² was not consumed.

³ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said,⁵⁵⁹ I will now turn aside,⁵⁴⁹³ and see⁷²⁰⁰ this great¹⁴¹⁹ sight,⁴⁷⁵⁸ why⁴⁰⁶⁹ the bush⁵⁵⁷² is not burnt.

⁴ And when the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ saw⁷²⁰⁰ that he turned aside⁵⁴⁹³ to see,⁷²⁰⁰ God⁴³⁰ called⁷¹²¹ unto him out of the midst⁸⁴³² of the bush,⁵⁵⁷² and said,⁵⁵⁹ Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Moses.⁴⁸⁷² And he said,

^5C And he said,⁵⁵⁹ Draw not nigh⁷¹²⁶ hither:¹⁹⁸⁸ put off⁵³⁹⁴ thy shoes⁵²⁷⁵ from off thy feet,⁷²⁷² for the place⁴⁷²⁵ whereon⁸³⁴ thou standest⁵⁹⁷⁵ is holy⁶⁹⁴⁴ ground.

^6C Moreover he said,⁵⁵⁹ I am the God⁴³⁰ of thy father,¹ the God⁴³⁰ of Abraham,⁸⁵ the God⁴³⁰ of Isaac,³³²⁷ and the God⁴³⁰ of Jacob.³²⁹⁰ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² hid⁵⁶⁴¹ his face;⁶⁴⁴⁰ for he was afraid³³⁷² to look⁵⁰²⁷ upon God.

^7C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said,⁵⁵⁹ I have surely⁷²⁰⁰ seen⁷²⁰⁰ the affliction⁶⁰⁴⁰ of my people⁵⁹⁷¹ which are in Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and have heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ their cry⁶⁸¹⁸ by reason⁶⁴⁴⁰ of their taskmasters;⁵⁰⁶⁵ for I know³⁰⁴⁵ their sorrows;

^8C And I am come down³³⁸¹ to deliver⁵³³⁷ them out of the hand³⁰²⁷ of the Egyptians,⁴⁷¹⁴ and to bring⁵⁹²⁷ them up out of that land⁷⁷⁶ unto a good²⁸⁹⁶ land⁷⁷⁶ and a large,⁷³⁴² unto a land⁷⁷⁶ flowing²¹⁰⁰ with milk²⁴⁶¹ and honey;¹⁷⁰⁶ unto the place⁴⁷²⁵ of the Canaanites,³⁶⁶⁹ and the Hittites,²⁸⁵⁰ and the Amorites,⁵⁶⁷ and the Perizzites,⁶⁵²² and the Hivites,²³⁴⁰ and the Jebusites.

⁹ Now therefore, behold, the cry⁶⁸¹⁸ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ is come⁹³⁵ unto me: and I have also seen⁷²⁰⁰ the oppression³⁹⁰⁶ wherewith the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ oppress

^10C Come³²¹² now therefore, and I will send⁷⁹⁷¹ thee unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ that thou mayest bring forth³³¹⁸ my people⁵⁹⁷¹ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ out of Egypt.

^11C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said⁵⁵⁹ unto God,⁴³⁰ Who am I, that I should go³²¹² unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and that I should bring forth³³¹⁸ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ out of Egypt?

^12C And he said,⁵⁵⁹ Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token²²⁶ unto thee, that³⁵⁸⁸ I have sent⁷⁹⁷¹ thee: When thou hast brought forth³³¹⁸ the people⁵⁹⁷¹ out of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ ye shall serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ God⁴³⁰ upon this mountain.

¹³ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said⁵⁵⁹ unto God,⁴³⁰ Behold, when I come⁹³⁵ unto the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ and shall say⁵⁵⁹ unto them, The God⁴³⁰ of your fathers¹ hath sent⁷⁹⁷¹ me unto you; and they shall say⁵⁵⁹ to me, What is his name?⁸⁰³⁴ what shall I say

^14C And God⁴³⁰ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² I AM¹⁹⁶¹ THAT I AM:¹⁹⁶¹ and he said,⁵⁵⁹ Thus shalt thou say⁵⁵⁹ unto the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ I AM hath sent

^15C And God⁴³⁰ said⁵⁵⁹ moreover⁵⁷⁵⁰ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Thus shalt thou say⁵⁵⁹ unto the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ The Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of your fathers,¹ the God⁴³⁰ of Abraham,⁸⁵ the God⁴³⁰ of Isaac,³³²⁷ and the God⁴³⁰ of Jacob,³²⁹⁰ hath sent⁷⁹⁷¹ me unto you: this is my name⁸⁰³⁴ for ever,⁵⁷⁶⁹ and this is my memorial²¹⁴³ unto all¹⁷⁵⁵ generations.

¹⁶ Go,³²¹² and gather⁶²² the elders²²⁰⁵ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ together,⁶²² and say⁵⁵⁹ unto them, The Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of your fathers,¹ the God⁴³⁰ of Abraham,⁸⁵ of Isaac,³³²⁷ and of Jacob,³²⁹⁰ appeared⁷²⁰⁰ unto me, saying,⁵⁵⁹ I have surely⁶⁴⁸⁵ visited⁶⁴⁸⁵ you, and seen that which is done⁶²¹³ to you in Egypt:

^17C And I have said,⁵⁵⁹ I will bring⁵⁹²⁷ you up out of the affliction⁶⁰⁴⁰ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ unto the land⁷⁷⁶ of the Canaanites,³⁶⁶⁹ and the Hittites,²⁸⁵⁰ and the Amorites,⁵⁶⁷ and the Perizzites,⁶⁵²² and the Hivites,²³⁴⁰ and the Jebusites,²⁹⁸³ unto a land⁷⁷⁶ flowing²¹⁰⁰ with milk²⁴⁶¹ and honey.

¹⁸ And they shall hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ to thy voice:⁶⁹⁶³ and thou shalt come,⁹³⁵ thou and the elders²²⁰⁵ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ unto the king⁴⁴²⁸ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and ye shall say⁵⁵⁹ unto him, The Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of the Hebrews⁵⁶⁸⁰ hath met⁷¹³⁶ with us: and now let us go,³²¹² we beseech thee, three⁷⁹⁶⁹ days'³¹¹⁷ journey¹⁸⁷⁰ into the wilderness,⁴⁰⁵⁷ that we may sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ to the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ our God.

¹⁹ And I am sure³⁰⁴⁵ that the king⁴⁴²⁸ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ will not let⁵⁴¹⁴ you go,¹⁹⁸⁰ no, not by a mighty²³⁸⁹ hand.

²⁰ And I will stretch out⁷⁹⁷¹ my hand,³⁰²⁷ and smite⁵²²¹ Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ with all my wonders⁶³⁸¹ which I will do⁶²¹³ in the midst⁷¹³⁰ thereof: and after³¹⁰ that he will let you go.

²¹ And I will give⁵⁴¹⁴ this people⁵⁹⁷¹ favour²⁵⁸⁰ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the Egyptians:⁴⁷¹⁴ and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go,³²¹² ye shall not go³²¹² empty:

^22C But every woman⁸⁰² shall borrow⁷⁵⁹² of her neighbour,⁷⁹³⁴ and of her that sojourneth¹⁴⁸¹ in her house,¹⁰⁰⁴ jewels³⁶²⁷ of silver,³⁷⁰¹ and jewels³⁶²⁷ of gold,²⁰⁹¹ and raiment:⁸⁰⁷¹ and ye shall put⁷⁷⁶⁰ them upon your sons,¹¹²¹ and upon your daughters;¹³²³ and ye shall spoil⁵³³⁷ the Egyptians.

4^CAnd Moses⁴⁸⁷² answered⁶⁰³⁰ and said,⁵⁵⁹ But, behold, they will not believe⁵³⁹ me, nor hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto my voice:⁶⁹⁶³ for they will say,⁵⁵⁹ The Lord³⁰⁶⁸ hath not appeared

^2C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, What is that in thine hand?³⁰²⁷ And he said,⁵⁵⁹ A rod.

^3C And he said,⁵⁵⁹ Cast⁷⁹⁹³ it on the ground.⁷⁷⁶ And he cast⁷⁹⁹³ it on the ground,⁷⁷⁶ and it became a serpent;⁵¹⁷⁵ and Moses⁴⁸⁷² fled⁵¹²⁷ from before

^4C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Put forth⁷⁹⁷¹ thine hand,³⁰²⁷ and take²⁷⁰ it by the tail.²¹⁸⁰ And he put forth⁷⁹⁷¹ his hand,³⁰²⁷ and caught²³⁸⁸ it, and it became a rod⁴²⁹⁴ in his hand:

⁵ That they may believe⁵³⁹ that the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of their fathers,¹ the God⁴³⁰ of Abraham,⁸⁵ the God⁴³⁰ of Isaac,³³²⁷ and the God⁴³⁰ of Jacob,³²⁹⁰ hath appeared

^6C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ furthermore⁵⁷⁵⁰ unto him, Put⁹³⁵ now thine hand³⁰²⁷ into thy bosom.²⁴³⁶ And he put⁹³⁵ his hand³⁰²⁷ into his bosom:²⁴³⁶ and when he took³³¹⁸ it out, behold, his hand³⁰²⁷ was leprous⁶⁸⁷⁹ as snow.

^7C And he said,⁵⁵⁹ Put⁷⁷²⁵ thine hand³⁰²⁷ into thy bosom²⁴³⁶ again.⁷⁷²⁵ And he put⁷⁷²⁵ his hand³⁰²⁷ into his bosom²⁴³⁶ again;⁷⁷²⁵ and plucked³³¹⁸ it out of his bosom,²⁴³⁶ and, behold, it was turned again⁷⁷²⁵ as his other flesh.

^8C And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe⁵³⁹ thee, neither hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ to the voice⁶⁹⁶³ of the first⁷²²³ sign,²²⁶ that they will believe⁵³⁹ the voice⁶⁹⁶³ of the latter³¹⁴ sign.

^9C And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe⁵³⁹ also these two⁸¹⁴⁷ signs,²²⁶ neither hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto thy voice,⁶⁹⁶³ that thou shalt take³⁹⁴⁷ of the water⁴³²⁵ of the river,²⁹⁷⁵ and pour⁸²¹⁰ it upon the dry³⁰⁰⁴ land: and the water⁴³²⁵ which thou takest³⁹⁴⁷ out of the river²⁹⁷⁵ shall become blood¹⁸¹⁸ upon the dry

^10C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said⁵⁵⁹ unto the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ O⁹⁹⁴ my Lord,¹³⁶ I³⁷⁶ am not eloquent,¹⁶⁹⁷ neither heretofore,^80328543 nor since²²⁷ thou hast spoken¹⁶⁹⁶ unto thy servant:⁵⁶⁵⁰ but I am slow³⁵¹⁵ of speech,⁶³¹⁰ and of a slow³⁵¹⁵ tongue.

^11C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Who hath made⁷⁷⁶⁰ man's¹²⁰ mouth?⁶³¹⁰ or who maketh⁷⁷⁶⁰ the dumb,⁴⁸³ or deaf,²⁷⁹⁵ or the seeing,⁶⁴⁹³ or the blind?⁵⁷⁸⁷ have not I the Lord?

^12C Now therefore go,³²¹² and I will be with thy mouth,⁶³¹⁰ and teach³³⁸⁴ thee what thou shalt say.

¹³ And he said,⁵⁵⁹ O⁹⁹⁴ my Lord,¹³⁶ send,⁷⁹⁷¹ I pray thee, by the hand³⁰²⁷ of him whom thou wilt send.

¹⁴ And the anger⁶³⁹ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ was kindled²⁷³⁴ against Moses,⁴⁸⁷² and he said,⁵⁵⁹ Is not Aaron¹⁷⁵ the Levite³⁸⁸¹ thy brother?²⁵¹ I know³⁰⁴⁵ that he can speak¹⁶⁹⁶ well.¹⁶⁹⁶ And also, behold, he cometh forth³³¹⁸ to meet⁷¹²⁵ thee: and when he seeth⁷²⁰⁰ thee, he will be glad⁸⁰⁵⁵ in his heart.

¹⁵ And thou shalt speak¹⁶⁹⁶ unto him, and put⁷⁷⁶⁰ words¹⁶⁹⁷ in his mouth:⁶³¹⁰ and I will be with thy mouth,⁶³¹⁰ and with his mouth,⁶³¹⁰ and will teach³³⁸⁴ you what ye shall do.

^16C And he shall be thy spokesman¹⁶⁹⁶ unto the people:⁵⁹⁷¹ and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth,⁶³¹⁰ and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

¹⁷ And thou shalt take³⁹⁴⁷ this rod⁴²⁹⁴ in thine hand,³⁰²⁷ wherewith thou shalt do⁶²¹³ signs.

¹⁸ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² went³²¹² and returned⁷⁷²⁵ to Jethro³⁵⁰⁰ his father in law,²⁸⁵⁹ and said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Let me go,³²¹² I pray thee, and return⁷⁷²⁵ unto my brethren²⁵¹ which are in Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and see⁷²⁰⁰ whether they be yet⁵⁷⁵⁰ alive.²⁴¹⁶ And Jethro³⁵⁰³ said⁵⁵⁹ to Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Go³²¹² in peace.

¹⁹ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses⁴⁸⁷² in Midian,⁴⁰⁸⁰ Go,³²¹² return⁷⁷²⁵ into Egypt:⁴⁷¹⁴ for all the men⁵⁸² are dead⁴¹⁹¹ which sought¹²⁴⁵ thy life.

²⁰ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² took³⁹⁴⁷ his wife⁸⁰² and his sons,¹¹²¹ and set⁷³⁹² them upon an ass,²⁵⁴³ and he returned⁷⁷²⁵ to the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt:⁴⁷¹⁴ and Moses⁴⁸⁷² took³⁹⁴⁷ the rod⁴²⁹⁴ of God⁴³⁰ in his hand.

^21C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² When thou goest³²¹² to return⁷⁷²⁵ into Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ see⁷²⁰⁰ that thou do⁶²¹³ all those wonders⁴¹⁵⁹ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ which I have put⁷⁷⁶⁰ in thine hand:³⁰²⁷ but I will harden²³⁸⁸ his heart,³⁸²⁰ that he shall not let the people⁵⁹⁷¹ go.

^22C And thou shalt say⁵⁵⁹ unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ Israel³⁴⁷⁸ is my son,¹¹²¹ even my firstborn:

²³ And I say⁵⁵⁹ unto thee, Let my son¹¹²¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that he may serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ me: and if thou refuse³⁹⁸⁵ to let him go,⁷⁹⁷¹ behold, I will slay²⁰²⁶ thy son,¹¹²¹ even thy firstborn.

²⁴ And it came to pass by the way¹⁸⁷⁰ in the inn,⁴⁴¹¹ that the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ met⁶²⁹⁸ him, and sought¹²⁴⁵ to kill

²⁵ Then Zipporah⁶⁸⁵⁵ took³⁹⁴⁷ a sharp stone,⁶⁸⁶⁴ and cut off³⁷⁷² the foreskin⁶¹⁹⁰ of her son,¹¹²¹ and cast⁵⁰⁶⁰ it at his feet,⁷²⁷² and said,⁵⁵⁹ Surely a bloody¹⁸¹⁸ husband

^26C So he let him go:⁷⁵⁰³ then she said,⁵⁵⁹ A bloody¹⁸¹⁸ husband²⁸⁶⁰ thou art, because of the circumcision.

^27C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ to Aaron,¹⁷⁵ Go³²¹² into the wilderness⁴⁰⁵⁷ to meet⁷¹²⁵ Moses.⁴⁸⁷² And he went,³²¹² and met⁶²⁹⁸ him in the mount²⁰²² of God,⁴³⁰ and kissed

²⁸ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² told⁵⁰⁴⁶ Aaron¹⁷⁵ all the words¹⁶⁹⁷ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ who had sent⁷⁹⁷¹ him, and all the signs²²⁶ which he had commanded

²⁹ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ went³²¹² and gathered together⁶²² all the elders²²⁰⁵ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel:

³⁰ And Aaron¹⁷⁵ spake¹⁶⁹⁶ all the words¹⁶⁹⁷ which the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had spoken¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² and did⁶²¹³ the signs²²⁶ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the people.

³¹ And the people⁵⁹⁷¹ believed:⁵³⁹ and when they heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ that the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had visited⁶⁴⁸⁵ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ and that he had looked⁷²⁰⁰ upon their affliction,⁶⁰⁴⁰ then they bowed their heads⁶⁹¹⁵ and worshipped.

5And afterward³¹⁰ Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ went in,⁹³⁵ and told⁵⁵⁹ Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ Let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may hold a feast²²⁸⁷ unto me in the wilderness.

^2C And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ said,⁵⁵⁹ Who is the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ that I should obey⁸⁰⁸⁵ his voice⁶⁹⁶³ to let Israel³⁴⁷⁸ go?⁷⁹⁷¹ I know³⁰⁴⁵ not the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ neither will I let Israel³⁴⁷⁸ go.

³ And they said,⁵⁵⁹ The God⁴³⁰ of the Hebrews⁵⁶⁸⁰ hath met⁷¹²² with us: let us go,³²¹² we pray thee, three⁷⁹⁶⁹ days'³¹¹⁷ journey¹⁸⁷⁰ into the desert,⁴⁰⁵⁷ and sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ unto the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ our God;⁴³⁰ lest he fall⁶²⁹³ upon us with pestilence,¹⁶⁹⁸ or with the sword.

⁴ And the king⁴⁴²⁸ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ said⁵⁵⁹ unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron,¹⁷⁵ let⁶⁵⁴⁴ the people⁵⁹⁷¹ from their works?⁴⁶³⁹ get³²¹² you unto your burdens.

⁵ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ said,⁵⁵⁹ Behold, the people⁵⁹⁷¹ of the land⁷⁷⁶ now are many,⁷²²⁷ and ye make them rest⁷⁶⁷³ from their burdens.

⁶ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ the same day³¹¹⁷ the taskmasters⁵⁰⁶⁵ of the people,⁵⁹⁷¹ and their officers,⁷⁸⁶⁰ saying,

^7C Ye shall no more³²⁵⁴ give⁵⁴¹⁴ the people⁵⁹⁷¹ straw⁸⁴⁰¹ to make³⁸³⁵ brick,³⁸⁴³ as heretofore:^80328543 let them go³²¹² and gather⁷¹⁹⁷ straw

⁸ And the tale⁴⁹⁷¹ of the bricks,³⁸⁴³ which they did make⁶²¹³ heretofore,^80328543 ye shall lay⁷⁷⁶⁰ upon them; ye shall not diminish¹⁶³⁹ ought thereof: for they be idle;⁷⁵⁰³ therefore they cry,⁶⁸¹⁷ saying,⁵⁵⁹ Let us go³²¹² and sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ to our God.

^9C Let there more work⁵⁶⁵⁶ be laid³⁵¹³ upon the men,⁵⁸² that they may labour⁶²¹³ therein; and let them not regard⁸¹⁵⁹ vain⁸²⁶⁷ words.

¹⁰ And the taskmasters⁵⁰⁶⁵ of the people⁵⁹⁷¹ went out,³³¹⁸ and their officers,⁷⁸⁶⁰ and they spake⁵⁵⁹ to the people,⁵⁹⁷¹ saying,⁵⁵⁹ Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ I will not give⁵⁴¹⁴ you straw.

¹¹ Go³²¹² ye, get³⁹⁴⁷ you straw⁸⁴⁰¹ where⁸³⁴ ye can find⁴⁶⁷² it: yet³⁵⁸⁸ not ought¹⁶⁹⁷ of your work⁵⁶⁵⁶ shall be diminished.

^12C So the people⁵⁹⁷¹ were scattered abroad⁶³²⁷ throughout all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ to gather⁷¹⁹⁷ stubble⁷¹⁷⁹ instead of straw.

¹³ And the taskmasters⁵⁰⁶⁵ hasted²¹³ them, saying,⁵⁵⁹ Fulfil³⁶¹⁵ your works,⁴⁶³⁹ your daily³¹¹⁷ tasks,¹⁶⁹⁷ as when there was¹⁹⁶¹ straw.

¹⁴ And the officers⁷⁸⁶⁰ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ which Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ taskmasters⁵⁰⁶⁵ had set⁷⁷⁶⁰ over them, were beaten,⁵²²¹ and demanded,⁵⁵⁹ Wherefore have ye not fulfilled³⁶¹⁵ your task²⁷⁰⁶ in making brick³⁸³⁵ both yesterday⁸⁵⁴³ and to day,³¹¹⁷ as heretofore?⁸⁰³²

¹⁵ Then the officers⁷⁸⁶⁰ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ came⁹³⁵ and cried⁶⁸¹⁷ unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ saying,⁵⁵⁹ Wherefore dealest⁶²¹³ thou thus with thy servants?

¹⁶ There is no straw⁸⁴⁰¹ given⁵⁴¹⁴ unto thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and they say⁵⁵⁹ to us, Make⁶²¹³ brick:³⁸⁴³ and, behold, thy servants⁵⁶⁵⁰ are beaten;⁵²²¹ but the fault²³⁹⁸ is in thine own people.

^17C But he said,⁵⁵⁹ Ye are idle,⁷⁵⁰³ ye are idle:⁷⁵⁰³ therefore ye say,⁵⁵⁹ Let us go³²¹² and do sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ to the Lord.

¹⁸ Go³²¹² therefore now, and work;⁵⁶⁴⁷ for there shall no straw⁸⁴⁰¹ be given⁵⁴¹⁴ you, yet shall ye deliver⁵⁴¹⁴ the tale⁸⁵⁰⁶ of bricks.

¹⁹ And the officers⁷⁸⁶⁰ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ did see⁷²⁰⁰ that they were in evil⁷⁴⁵¹ case, after it was said,⁵⁵⁹ Ye shall not minish¹⁶³⁹ ought from your bricks³⁸⁴³ of your daily^31173117 task.

²⁰ And they met⁶²⁹³ Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron,¹⁷⁵ who stood⁵³²⁴ in the way,⁷¹²⁵ as they came forth³³¹⁸ from Pharaoh:

²¹ And they said⁵⁵⁹ unto them, The Lord³⁰⁶⁸ look⁷²⁰⁰ upon you, and judge;⁸¹⁹⁹ because ye have made our savour⁷³⁸¹ to be abhorred⁸⁸⁷ in the eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ of Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and in the eyes⁵⁸⁶⁹ of his servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ to put⁵⁴¹⁴ a sword²⁷¹⁹ in their hand³⁰²⁷ to slay

²² And Moses⁴⁸⁷² returned⁷⁷²⁵ unto the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ and said,⁵⁵⁹ Lord,¹³⁶ wherefore hast thou so evil entreated⁷⁴⁸⁹ this people?⁵⁹⁷¹ why is it that thou hast sent

²³ For since I came⁹³⁵ to Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ to speak¹⁶⁹⁶ in thy name,⁸⁰³⁴ he hath done evil⁷⁴⁸⁹ to this people;⁵⁹⁷¹ neither hast thou delivered⁵³³⁷ thy people⁵⁹⁷¹ at all.

6Then the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Now shalt thou see⁷²⁰⁰ what I will do⁶²¹³ to Pharaoh:⁶⁵⁴⁷ for with a strong²³⁸⁹ hand³⁰²⁷ shall he let them go,⁷⁹⁷¹ and with a strong²³⁸⁹ hand³⁰²⁷ shall he drive them out¹⁶⁴⁴ of his land.

² And God⁴³⁰ spake¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² and said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, I am the Lord:

^3C And I appeared⁷²⁰⁰ unto Abraham,⁸⁵ unto Isaac,³³²⁷ and unto Jacob,³²⁹⁰ by the name of God⁴¹⁰ Almighty,⁷⁷⁰⁶ but by my name⁸⁰³⁴ JEHOVAH³⁰⁶⁸ was I not known

^4C And I have also established⁶⁹⁶⁵ my covenant¹²⁸⁵ with them, to give⁵⁴¹⁴ them the land⁷⁷⁶ of Canaan,³⁶⁶⁷ the land⁷⁷⁶ of their pilgrimage,⁴⁰³³ wherein they were strangers.

^5C And I have also heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ the groaning⁵⁰⁰⁹ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ whom⁸³⁴ the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ keep in bondage;⁵⁶⁴⁷ and I have remembered²¹⁴² my covenant.

⁶ Wherefore³⁶⁵¹ say⁵⁵⁹ unto the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ I am the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ and I will bring³³¹⁸ you out from under the burdens⁵⁴⁵⁰ of the Egyptians,⁴⁷¹⁴ and I will rid⁵³³⁷ you out of their bondage,⁵⁶⁵⁶ and I will redeem¹³⁵⁰ you with a stretched⁵¹⁸⁶ out arm,²²²⁰ and with great¹⁴¹⁹ judgments:

⁷ And I will take³⁹⁴⁷ you to me for a people,⁵⁹⁷¹ and I will be to you a God:⁴³⁰ and ye shall know³⁰⁴⁵ that I am the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ your God,⁴³⁰ which bringeth³³¹⁸ you out from under the burdens⁵⁴⁵⁰ of the Egyptians.

⁸ And I will bring⁹³⁵ you in unto the land,⁷⁷⁶ concerning the which I did swear^53753027 to give⁵⁴¹⁴ it to Abraham,⁸⁵ to Isaac,³³²⁷ and to Jacob;³²⁹⁰ and I will give⁵⁴¹⁴ it you for an heritage:⁴¹⁸¹ I am the Lord.

⁹ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² spake¹⁶⁹⁶ so unto the children¹¹²¹ of Israel:³⁴⁷⁸ but they hearkened⁸⁰⁸⁵ not unto Moses⁴⁸⁷² for anguish⁷¹¹⁵ of spirit,⁷³⁰⁷ and for cruel⁷¹⁸⁶ bondage.

¹⁰ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² saying,

¹¹ Go⁹³⁵ in, speak¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ that he let the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ go out⁷⁹⁷¹ of his land.

¹² And Moses⁴⁸⁷² spake¹⁶⁹⁶ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ saying,⁵⁵⁹ Behold, the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ have not hearkened⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto me; how then shall Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ hear⁸⁰⁸⁵ me,⁵⁸⁹ who am of uncircumcised⁶¹⁸⁹ lips?

^13C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Moses⁴⁸⁷² and unto Aaron,¹⁷⁵ and gave them a charge⁶⁶⁸⁰ unto the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ and unto Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ to bring³³¹⁸ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ out of the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

¹⁴ These be the heads⁷²¹⁸ of their fathers'¹ houses:¹⁰⁰⁴ The sons¹¹²¹ of Reuben⁷²⁰⁵ the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ of Israel;³⁴⁷⁸ Hanoch,²⁵⁸⁵ and Pallu,⁶³⁹⁶ Hezron,²⁶⁹⁶ and Carmi:³⁷⁵⁶ these be the families⁴⁹⁴⁰ of Reuben.

¹⁵ And the sons¹¹²¹ of Simeon;⁸⁰⁹⁵ Jemuel,³²²³ and Jamin,³²²⁶ and Ohad,¹⁶¹ and Jachin,³¹⁹⁹ and Zohar,⁶⁷¹⁴ and Shaul⁷⁵⁸⁶ the son¹¹²¹ of a Canaanitish woman:³⁶⁶⁹ these are the families⁴⁹⁴⁰ of Simeon.

^16C And these are the names⁸⁰³⁴ of the sons¹¹²¹ of Levi³⁸⁷⁸ according to their generations;⁸⁴³⁵ Gershon,¹⁶⁴⁸ and Kohath,⁶⁹⁵⁵ and Merari:⁴⁸⁴⁷ and the years⁸¹⁴¹ of the life²⁴¹⁶ of Levi³⁸⁷⁸ were an hundred³⁹⁶⁷ thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and seven⁷⁶⁵¹ years.

¹⁷ The sons¹¹²¹ of Gershon;¹⁶⁴⁸ Libni,³⁸⁴⁵ and Shimi,⁸⁰⁹⁶ according to their families.

^18C And the sons¹¹²¹ of Kohath;⁶⁹⁵⁵ Amram,⁶⁰¹⁹ and Izhar,³³²⁴ and Hebron,²²⁷⁵ and Uzziel:⁵⁸¹⁶ and the years⁸¹⁴¹ of the life²⁴¹⁶ of Kohath⁶⁹⁵⁵ were an hundred³⁹⁶⁷ thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and three⁷⁹⁶⁹ years.

¹⁹ And the sons¹¹²¹ of Merari;⁴⁸⁴⁷ Mahali⁴²⁴⁹ and Mushi:⁴¹⁸⁷ these are the families⁴⁹⁴⁰ of Levi³⁸⁷⁸ according to their generations.

²⁰ And Amram⁶⁰¹⁹ took³⁹⁴⁷ him Jochebed³¹¹⁵ his father's sister¹⁷³³ to wife;⁸⁰² and she bare³²⁰⁵ him Aaron¹⁷⁵ and Moses:⁴⁸⁷² and the years⁸¹⁴¹ of the life²⁴¹⁶ of Amram⁶⁰¹⁹ were an hundred³⁹⁶⁷ and thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ and seven⁷⁶⁵¹ years.

²¹ And the sons¹¹²¹ of Izhar;³³²⁴ Korah,⁷¹⁴¹ and Nepheg,⁵²⁹⁸ and Zichri.

²² And the sons¹¹²¹ of Uzziel;⁵⁸¹⁶ Mishael,⁴³³² and Elzaphan,⁴⁶⁹ and Zithri.

²³ And Aaron¹⁷⁵ took³⁹⁴⁷ him Elisheba,⁴⁷² daughter¹³²³ of Amminadab,⁵⁹⁹² sister²⁶⁹ of Naashon,⁵¹⁷⁷ to wife;⁸⁰² and she bare³²⁰⁵ him Nadab,⁵⁰⁷⁰ and Abihu,³⁰ Eleazar,⁴⁹⁹ and Ithamar.

²⁴ And the sons¹¹²¹ of Korah;⁷¹⁴¹ Assir,⁶¹⁷ and Elkanah,⁵¹¹ and Abiasaph:²³ these are the families⁴⁹⁴⁰ of the Korhites.

²⁵ And Eleazar⁴⁹⁹ Aaron's¹⁷⁵ son¹¹²¹ took³⁹⁴⁷ him one of the daughters¹³²³ of Putiel⁶³¹⁷ to wife;⁸⁰² and she bare³²⁰⁵ him Phinehas:⁶³⁷² these are the heads⁷²¹⁸ of the fathers¹ of the Levites³⁸⁸¹ according to their families.

²⁶ These¹⁹³¹ are that Aaron¹⁷⁵ and Moses,⁴⁸⁷² to whom⁸³⁴ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said,⁵⁵⁹ Bring out³³¹⁸ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ from the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ according to their armies.

²⁷ These¹⁹⁹² are they which spake¹⁶⁹⁶ to Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ to bring out³³¹⁸ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ from Egypt:⁴⁷¹⁴ these are that Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron.

²⁸ And it came to pass on the day³¹¹⁷ when the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Moses⁴⁸⁷² in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,

²⁹ That the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² saying,⁵⁵⁹ I am the Lord:³⁰⁶⁸ speak¹⁶⁹⁶ thou unto Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ king⁴⁴²⁸ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ all that I say

³⁰ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said⁵⁵⁹ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ Behold, I am of uncircumcised⁶¹⁸⁹ lips,⁸¹⁹³ and how shall Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ hearken

7^CAnd the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² See,⁷²⁰⁰ I have made⁵⁴¹⁴ thee a god⁴³⁰ to Pharaoh:⁶⁵⁴⁷ and Aaron¹⁷⁵ thy brother²⁵¹ shall be thy prophet.

² Thou shalt speak¹⁶⁹⁶ all that I command⁶⁶⁸⁰ thee: and Aaron¹⁷⁵ thy brother²⁵¹ shall speak¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ that he send⁷⁹⁷¹ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ out of his land.

^3C And I will harden⁷¹⁸⁵ Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ heart,³⁸²⁰ and multiply⁷²³⁵ my signs²²⁶ and my wonders⁴¹⁵⁹ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

^4C But Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ shall not hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto you, that I may lay⁵⁴¹⁴ my hand³⁰²⁷ upon Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and bring forth³³¹⁸ mine armies,⁶⁶³⁵ and my people⁵⁹⁷¹ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ out of the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ by great¹⁴¹⁹ judgments.

⁵ And the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ shall know³⁰⁴⁵ that I am the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ when I stretch forth⁵¹⁸⁶ mine hand³⁰²⁷ upon Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and bring out³³¹⁸ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ from among

⁶ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ did⁶²¹³ as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ them, so did

^7C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² was fourscore⁸⁰⁸⁴ years⁸¹⁴¹ old,¹¹²¹ and Aaron¹⁷⁵ fourscore⁸⁰⁸⁴ and three⁷⁹⁶⁹ years⁸¹⁴¹ old,¹¹²¹ when they spake¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Pharaoh.

⁸ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses⁴⁸⁷² and unto Aaron,¹⁷⁵ saying,

^9C When Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ shall speak¹⁶⁹⁶ unto you, saying,⁵⁵⁹ Shew⁵⁴¹⁴ a miracle⁴¹⁵⁹ for you: then thou shalt say⁵⁵⁹ unto Aaron,¹⁷⁵ Take³⁹⁴⁷ thy rod,⁴²⁹⁴ and cast⁷⁹⁹³ it before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and it shall become a serpent.

^10C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ went in⁹³⁵ unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and they did⁶²¹³ so as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had commanded:⁶⁶⁸⁰ and Aaron¹⁷⁵ cast down⁷⁹⁹³ his rod⁴²⁹⁴ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and before⁶⁴⁴⁰ his servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and it became a serpent.

^11C Then Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ also called⁷¹²¹ the wise men²⁴⁵⁰ and the sorcerers:³⁷⁸⁴ now the magicians²⁷⁴⁸ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ they also did⁶²¹³ in like manner³⁶⁵¹ with their enchantments.

^12C For they cast down⁷⁹⁹³ every man³⁷⁶ his rod,⁴²⁹⁴ and they became serpents:⁸⁵⁷⁷ but Aaron's¹⁷⁵ rod⁴²⁹⁴ swallowed up¹¹⁰⁴ their rods.

^13C And he hardened²³⁸⁸ Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ heart,³⁸²⁰ that he hearkened⁸⁰⁸⁵ not unto them; as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had said.

^14C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ heart³⁸²⁰ is hardened,³⁵¹⁵ he refuseth³⁹⁸⁵ to let the people⁵⁹⁷¹ go.

¹⁵ Get³²¹² thee unto Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ in the morning;¹²⁴² lo, he goeth out³³¹⁸ unto the water;⁴³²⁵ and thou shalt stand⁵³²⁴ by the river's²⁹⁷⁵ brink⁸¹⁹³ against he come;⁷¹²⁵ and the rod⁴²⁹⁴ which was turned²⁰¹⁵ to a serpent⁵¹⁷⁵ shalt thou take³⁹⁴⁷ in thine hand.

^16C And thou shalt say⁵⁵⁹ unto him, The Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of the Hebrews⁵⁶⁸⁰ hath sent⁷⁹⁷¹ me unto thee, saying,⁵⁵⁹ Let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ me in the wilderness:⁴⁰⁵⁷ and, behold, hitherto³⁵⁴¹ thou wouldest not hear.

¹⁷ Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ In this thou shalt know³⁰⁴⁵ that I am the Lord:³⁰⁶⁸ behold, I will smite⁵²²¹ with the rod⁴²⁹⁴ that is in mine hand³⁰²⁷ upon the waters⁴³²⁵ which are in the river,²⁹⁷⁵ and they shall be turned²⁰¹⁵ to blood.

¹⁸ And the fish¹⁷¹⁰ that is in the river²⁹⁷⁵ shall die,⁴¹⁹¹ and the river²⁹⁷⁵ shall stink;⁸⁸⁷ and the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ shall lothe³⁸¹¹ to drink⁸³⁵⁴ of the water⁴³²⁵ of the river.

¹⁹ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Say⁵⁵⁹ unto Aaron,¹⁷⁵ Take³⁹⁴⁷ thy rod,⁴²⁹⁴ and stretch out⁵¹⁸⁶ thine hand³⁰²⁷ upon the waters⁴³²⁵ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ upon their streams,⁵¹⁰⁴ upon their rivers,²⁹⁷⁵ and upon their ponds,⁹⁸ and upon all their pools⁴⁷²³ of water,⁴³²⁵ that they may become blood;¹⁸¹⁸ and that there may be blood¹⁸¹⁸ throughout all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ both in vessels of wood,⁶⁰⁸⁶ and in vessels of stone.

^20C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ did⁶²¹³ so, as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ commanded;⁶⁶⁸⁰ and he lifted up⁷³¹¹ the rod,⁴²⁹⁴ and smote⁵²²¹ the waters⁴³²⁵ that were in the river,²⁹⁷⁵ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of his servants;⁵⁶⁵⁰ and all the waters⁴³²⁵ that were in the river²⁹⁷⁵ were turned²⁰¹⁵ to blood.

²¹ And the fish¹⁷¹⁰ that was in the river²⁹⁷⁵ died;⁴¹⁹¹ and the river²⁹⁷⁵ stank,⁸⁸⁷ and the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ could³²⁰¹ not drink⁸³⁵⁴ of the water⁴³²⁵ of the river;²⁹⁷⁵ and there was blood¹⁸¹⁸ throughout all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

²² And the magicians²⁷⁴⁸ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ did⁶²¹³ so with their enchantments:³⁹⁰⁹ and Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ heart³⁸²⁰ was hardened,²³⁸⁸ neither did he hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto them; as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had said.

²³ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ turned⁶⁴³⁷ and went⁹³⁵ into his house,¹⁰⁰⁴ neither did he set⁷⁸⁹⁶ his heart³⁸²⁰ to this

^24C And all the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ digged²⁶⁵⁸ round about⁵⁴³⁹ the river²⁹⁷⁵ for water⁴³²⁵ to drink;⁸³⁵⁴ for they could³²⁰¹ not drink⁸³⁵⁴ of the water⁴³²⁵ of the river.

²⁵ And seven⁷⁶⁵¹ days³¹¹⁷ were fulfilled,⁴³⁹⁰ after³¹⁰ that the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had smitten⁵²²¹ the river.

8And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Go⁹³⁵ unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and say⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ Let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may serve

² And if thou refuse³⁹⁸⁶ to let them go,⁷⁹⁷¹ behold, I will smite⁵⁰⁶² all thy borders¹³⁶⁶ with frogs:

³ And the river²⁹⁷⁵ shall bring forth⁸³¹⁷ frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ abundantly,⁸³¹⁷ which shall go up⁵⁹²⁷ and come⁹³⁵ into thine house,¹⁰⁰⁴ and into thy bedchamber,^23154904 and upon thy bed,⁴²⁹⁶ and into the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and upon thy people,⁵⁹⁷¹ and into thine ovens,⁸⁵⁷⁴ and into thy kneadingtroughs:

⁴ And the frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ shall come up⁵⁹²⁷ both on thee, and upon thy people,⁵⁹⁷¹ and upon all thy servants.

^5C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Say⁵⁵⁹ unto Aaron,¹⁷⁵ Stretch forth⁵¹⁸⁶ thine hand³⁰²⁷ with thy rod⁴²⁹⁴ over the streams,⁵¹⁰⁴ over the rivers,²⁹⁷⁵ and over the ponds,⁹⁸ and cause frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ to come up⁵⁹²⁷ upon the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

⁶ And Aaron¹⁷⁵ stretched out⁵¹⁸⁶ his hand³⁰²⁷ over the waters⁴³²⁵ of Egypt;⁴⁷¹⁴ and the frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ came up,⁵⁹²⁷ and covered³⁶⁸⁰ the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

^7C And the magicians²⁷⁴⁸ did⁶²¹³ so with their enchantments,³⁹⁰⁹ and brought up⁵⁹²⁷ frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ upon the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

^8C Then Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ called⁷¹²¹ for Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron,¹⁷⁵ and said,⁵⁵⁹ Intreat⁶²⁷⁹ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ that he may take away⁵⁴⁹³ the frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ from me, and from my people;⁵⁹⁷¹ and I will let the people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may do sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ unto the Lord.

⁹ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said⁵⁵⁹ unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ Glory⁶²⁸⁶ over me: when⁴⁹⁷⁰ shall I intreat⁶²⁷⁹ for thee, and for thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and for thy people,⁵⁹⁷¹ to destroy³⁷⁷² the frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ from thee and thy houses,¹⁰⁰⁴ that they may remain⁷⁶⁰⁴ in the river

¹⁰ And he said,⁵⁵⁹ To morrow.⁴²⁷⁹ And he said,⁵⁵⁹ Be it according to thy word:¹⁶⁹⁷ that thou mayest know³⁰⁴⁵ that there is none like unto the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ our God.

¹¹ And the frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ shall depart⁵⁴⁹³ from thee, and from thy houses,¹⁰⁰⁴ and from thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and from thy people;⁵⁹⁷¹ they shall remain⁷⁶⁰⁴ in the river

¹² And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ went out³³¹⁸ from Pharaoh:⁶⁵⁴⁷ and Moses⁴⁸⁷² cried⁶⁸¹⁷ unto the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ because of¹⁶⁹⁷ the frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ which he had brought⁷⁷⁶⁰ against Pharaoh.

¹³ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ did⁶²¹³ according to the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of Moses;⁴⁸⁷² and the frogs⁶⁸⁵⁴ died⁴¹⁹¹ out of the houses,¹⁰⁰⁴ out of the villages,²⁶⁹¹ and out of the fields.

¹⁴ And they gathered them together⁶⁶⁵¹ upon heaps:²⁵⁶³ and the land⁷⁷⁶ stank.

¹⁵ But when Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ saw⁷²⁰⁰ that there was respite,⁷³⁰⁹ he hardened³⁵¹³ his heart,³⁸²⁰ and hearkened⁸⁰⁸⁵ not unto them; as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had said.

^16C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Say⁵⁵⁹ unto Aaron,¹⁷⁵ Stretch out⁵¹⁸⁶ thy rod,⁴²⁹⁴ and smite⁵²²¹ the dust⁶⁰⁸³ of the land,⁷⁷⁶ that it may become lice³⁶⁵⁴ throughout all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

^17C And they did⁶²¹³ so; for Aaron¹⁷⁵ stretched out⁵¹⁸⁶ his hand³⁰²⁷ with his rod,⁴²⁹⁴ and smote⁵²²¹ the dust⁶⁰⁸³ of the earth,⁷⁷⁶ and it became lice³⁶⁵⁴ in man,¹²⁰ and in beast;⁹²⁹ all the dust⁶⁰⁸³ of the land⁷⁷⁶ became lice³⁶⁵⁴ throughout all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

^18C And the magicians²⁷⁴⁸ did⁶²¹³ so with their enchantments³⁹⁰⁹ to bring forth³³¹⁸ lice,³⁶⁵⁴ but they could³²⁰¹ not: so there were lice³⁶⁵⁴ upon man,¹²⁰ and upon beast.

^19C Then the magicians²⁷⁴⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ This is the finger⁶⁷⁶ of God:⁴³⁰ and Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ heart³⁸²⁰ was hardened,²³⁸⁸ and he hearkened⁸⁰⁸⁵ not unto them; as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had said.

²⁰ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Rise up early⁷⁹²⁵ in the morning,¹²⁴² and stand³³²⁰ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Pharaoh;⁶⁵⁴⁷ lo, he cometh forth³³¹⁸ to the water;⁴³²⁵ and say⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ Let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may serve

^21C Else, if thou wilt not let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ behold, I will send⁷⁹⁷¹ swarms⁶¹⁵⁷ of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and upon thy people,⁵⁹⁷¹ and into thy houses:¹⁰⁰⁴ and the houses¹⁰⁰⁴ of the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ shall be full⁴³⁹⁰ of swarms⁶¹⁵⁷ of flies, and also the ground

²² And I will sever⁶³⁹⁵ in that day³¹¹⁷ the land⁷⁷⁶ of Goshen,¹⁶⁵⁷ in which my people⁵⁹⁷¹ dwell,⁵⁹⁷⁵ that no¹¹¹⁵ swarms⁶¹⁵⁷ of flies shall be¹⁹⁶¹ there; to the end⁴⁶¹⁶ thou mayest know³⁰⁴⁵ that I am the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ in the midst⁷¹³⁰ of the earth.

^23C And I will put⁷⁷⁶⁰ a division⁶³⁰⁴ between my people⁵⁹⁷¹ and thy people:⁵⁹⁷¹ to morrow⁴²⁷⁹ shall this sign

²⁴ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ did⁶²¹³ so; and there came⁹³⁵ a grievous³⁵¹⁵ swarm⁶¹⁵⁷ of flies into the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and into his servants'⁵⁶⁵⁰ houses,¹⁰⁰⁴ and into all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt:⁴⁷¹⁴ the land⁷⁷⁶ was corrupted⁷⁸⁴³ by reason⁶⁴⁴⁰ of the swarm

²⁵ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ called⁷¹²¹ for⁴¹³ Moses⁴⁸⁷² and for Aaron,¹⁷⁵ and said,⁵⁵⁹ Go³²¹² ye, sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ to your God⁴³⁰ in the land.

²⁶ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said,⁵⁵⁹ It is not meet³⁵⁵⁹ so to do;⁶²¹³ for²⁰⁰⁵ we shall sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ the abomination⁸⁴⁴¹ of the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ to the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ our God:⁴³⁰ lo, shall we sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ the abomination⁸⁴⁴¹ of the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ before their eyes,⁵⁸⁶⁹ and will they not stone

^27C We will go³²¹² three⁷⁹⁶⁹ days'³¹¹⁷ journey¹⁸⁷⁰ into the wilderness,⁴⁰⁵⁷ and sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ to the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ our God,⁴³⁰ as he shall command

²⁸ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ said,⁵⁵⁹ I will let you go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that ye may sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ to the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ your God⁴³⁰ in the wilderness;⁴⁰⁵⁷ only ye shall not go³²¹² very⁷³⁶⁸ far away:⁷³⁶⁸ intreat⁶²⁷⁹ for me.

²⁹ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said,⁵⁵⁹ Behold, I go out³³¹⁸ from thee, and I will intreat⁶²⁷⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ that the swarms⁶¹⁵⁷ of flies may depart⁵⁴⁹³ from Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ from his servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and from his people,⁵⁹⁷¹ to morrow:⁴²⁷⁹ but⁷⁵³⁵ let not Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ deal deceitfully²⁰⁴⁸ any more³²⁵⁴ in not¹¹¹⁵ letting the people⁵⁹⁷¹ go⁷⁹⁷¹ to sacrifice²⁰⁷⁶ to the Lord.

³⁰ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² went out³³¹⁸ from Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and intreated⁶²⁷⁹ the Lord.

³¹ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ did⁶²¹³ according to the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of Moses;⁴⁸⁷² and he removed⁵⁴⁹³ the swarms⁶¹⁵⁷ of flies from Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ from his servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and from his people;⁵⁹⁷¹ there remained⁷⁶⁰⁴ not one.

³² And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ hardened³⁵¹³ his heart³⁸²⁰ at this time⁶⁴⁷¹ also, neither would he let the people⁵⁹⁷¹ go.

9Then the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Go⁹³⁵ in unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and tell¹⁶⁹⁶ him, Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of the Hebrews,⁵⁶⁸⁰ Let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may serve

² For if thou refuse³⁹⁸⁶ to let them go,⁷⁹⁷¹ and wilt hold

^3C Behold, the hand³⁰²⁷ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ is¹⁹⁶¹ upon thy cattle⁴⁷³⁵ which is in the field,⁷⁷⁰⁴ upon the horses,⁵⁴⁸³ upon the asses,²⁵⁴³ upon the camels,¹⁵⁸¹ upon the oxen,¹²⁴¹ and upon the sheep:⁶⁶²⁹ there shall be a very³⁹⁶⁶ grievous³⁵¹⁵ murrain.

⁴ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ shall sever⁶³⁹⁵ between the cattle⁴⁷³⁵ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ and the cattle⁴⁷³⁵ of Egypt:⁴⁷¹⁴ and there shall nothing¹⁶⁹⁷ die⁴¹⁹¹ of all that is the children's¹¹²¹ of Israel.

⁵ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ appointed⁷⁷⁶⁰ a set time,⁴¹⁵⁰ saying,⁵⁵⁹ To morrow⁴²⁷⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ shall do⁶²¹³ this thing¹⁶⁹⁷ in the land.

⁶ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ did⁶²¹³ that thing¹⁶⁹⁷ on the morrow,⁴²⁸³ and all the cattle⁴⁷³⁵ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ died:⁴¹⁹¹ but of the cattle⁴⁷³⁵ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ died⁴¹⁹¹ not one.

⁷ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ sent,⁷⁹⁷¹ and, behold, there was not one²⁵⁹ of the cattle⁴⁷³⁵ of the Israelites³⁴⁷⁸ dead.⁴¹⁹¹ And the heart³⁸²⁰ of Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ was hardened,³⁵¹³ and he did not let the people⁵⁹⁷¹ go.

^8C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses⁴⁸⁷² and unto Aaron,¹⁷⁵ Take³⁹⁴⁷ to you handfuls^26514393 of ashes⁶³⁶⁸ of the furnace,³⁵³⁶ and let Moses⁴⁸⁷² sprinkle²²³⁶ it toward the heaven⁸⁰⁶⁴ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of Pharaoh.

^9C And it shall become small dust⁸⁰ in all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and shall be a boil⁷⁸²² breaking forth⁶⁵²⁴ with blains⁷⁶ upon man,¹²⁰ and upon beast,⁹²⁹ throughout all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

¹⁰ And they took³⁹⁴⁷ ashes⁶³⁶⁸ of the furnace,³⁵³⁶ and stood⁵⁹⁷⁵ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Pharaoh;⁶⁵⁴⁷ and Moses⁴⁸⁷² sprinkled²²³⁶ it up toward heaven;⁸⁰⁶⁴ and it became a boil⁷⁸²² breaking forth⁶⁵²⁴ with blains⁷⁶ upon man,¹²⁰ and upon beast.

¹¹ And the magicians²⁷⁴⁸ could³²⁰¹ not stand⁵⁹⁷⁵ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Moses⁴⁸⁷² because⁶⁴⁴⁰ of the boils;⁷⁸²² for the boil⁷⁸²² was upon the magicians,²⁷⁴⁸ and upon all the Egyptians.

¹² And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ hardened²³⁸⁸ the heart³⁸²⁰ of Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and he hearkened⁸⁰⁸⁵ not unto them; as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had spoken¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Moses.

¹³ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Rise up early⁷⁹²⁵ in the morning,¹²⁴² and stand³³²⁰ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and say⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of the Hebrews,⁵⁶⁸⁰ Let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may serve

^14C For I will at this time⁶⁴⁷¹ send⁷⁹⁷¹ all my plagues⁴⁰⁴⁶ upon thine heart,³⁸²⁰ and upon thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and upon thy people;⁵⁹⁷¹ that thou mayest know³⁰⁴⁵ that there is none like me in all the earth.

¹⁵ For now I will stretch out⁷⁹⁷¹ my hand,³⁰²⁷ that I may smite⁵²²¹ thee and thy people⁵⁹⁷¹ with pestilence;¹⁶⁹⁸ and thou shalt be cut off³⁵⁸² from the earth.

^16C And in very¹⁹⁹ deed⁵⁶⁶⁸ for this cause have I raised thee up,⁵⁹⁷⁵ for to shew⁷²⁰⁰ in thee my power;³⁵⁸¹ and that my name⁸⁰³⁴ may be declared⁵⁶⁰⁸ throughout all the earth.

¹⁷ As yet exaltest⁵⁵⁴⁹ thou thyself against my people,⁵⁹⁷¹ that thou wilt not let them go?

^18C Behold, to morrow⁴²⁷⁹ about this time⁶²⁵⁶ I will cause it to rain⁴³⁰⁵ a very³⁹⁶⁶ grievous³⁵¹⁵ hail,¹²⁵⁹ such as hath not been³⁶⁴⁴ in Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ since⁴⁴⁸⁰ the foundation³¹¹⁷

¹⁹ Send⁷⁹⁷¹ therefore now, and gather⁵⁷⁵⁶ thy cattle,⁴⁷³⁵ and all that thou hast in the field;⁷⁷⁰⁴ for upon every man¹²⁰ and beast⁹²⁹ which shall be found⁴⁶⁷² in the field,⁷⁷⁰⁴ and shall not be brought⁶²² home,¹⁰⁰⁴ the hail¹²⁵⁹ shall come down³³⁸¹ upon them, and they shall die.

²⁰ He that feared³³⁷³ the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ among the servants⁵⁶⁵⁰ of Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ made his servants⁵⁶⁵⁰ and his cattle⁴⁷³⁵ flee⁵¹²⁷ into the houses:

²¹ And he that regarded^77603820 not the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ left⁵⁸⁰⁰ his servants⁵⁶⁵⁰ and his cattle⁴⁷³⁵ in the field.

²² And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Stretch forth⁵¹⁸⁶ thine hand³⁰²⁷ toward heaven,⁸⁰⁶⁴ that there may be hail¹²⁵⁹ in all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ upon man,¹²⁰ and upon beast,⁹²⁹ and upon every herb⁶²¹² of the field,⁷⁷⁰⁴ throughout the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

^23C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² stretched forth⁵¹⁸⁶ his rod⁴²⁹⁴ toward heaven:⁸⁰⁶⁴ and the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ sent⁵⁴¹⁴ thunder⁶⁹⁶³ and hail,¹²⁵⁹ and the fire⁷⁸⁴ ran along¹⁹⁸⁰ upon the ground;⁷⁷⁶ and the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ rained⁴³⁰⁵ hail¹²⁵⁹ upon the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

²⁴ So there was hail,¹²⁵⁹ and fire^7843947 mingled⁸⁴³² with the hail,¹²⁵⁹ very³⁹⁶⁶ grievous,³⁵¹⁵ such as there was none³⁸⁰⁸ like it in all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ since it became a nation.

²⁵ And the hail¹²⁵⁹ smote⁵²²¹ throughout all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ all that was in the field,⁷⁷⁰⁴ both man¹²⁰ and beast;⁹²⁹ and the hail¹²⁵⁹ smote⁵²²¹ every herb⁶²¹² of the field,⁷⁷⁰⁴ and brake⁷⁶⁶⁵ every tree⁶⁰⁸⁶ of the field.

^26C Only in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Goshen,¹⁶⁵⁷ where the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ were, was there no hail.

²⁷ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ sent,⁷⁹⁷¹ and called⁷¹²¹ for Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron,¹⁷⁵ and said⁵⁵⁹ unto them, I have sinned²³⁹⁸ this time:⁶⁴⁷¹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ is righteous,⁶⁶⁶² and I and my people⁵⁹⁷¹ are wicked.

²⁸ Intreat⁶²⁷⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ (for it is enough)⁷²²⁷ that there be no more mighty⁴³⁰ thunderings⁶⁹⁶³ and hail;¹²⁵⁹ and I will let you go,⁷⁹⁷¹ and ye shall stay⁵⁹⁷⁵ no longer.

²⁹ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, As soon as I am gone out³³¹⁸ of the city,⁵⁸⁹² I will spread abroad⁶⁵⁶⁶ my hands³⁷⁰⁹ unto the Lord;³⁰⁶⁸ and the thunder⁶⁹⁶³ shall cease,²³⁰⁸ neither shall there be any more hail;¹²⁵⁹ that thou mayest know³⁰⁴⁵ how that the earth⁷⁷⁶ is the Lord’s.

³⁰ But as for thee and thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ I know³⁰⁴⁵ that ye will not yet fear^33726440 the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God.

³¹ And the flax⁶⁵⁹⁴ and the barley⁸¹⁸⁴ was smitten:⁵²²¹ for the barley⁸¹⁸⁴ was in the ear,²⁴ and the flax⁶⁵⁹⁴ was bolled.

³² But the wheat²⁴⁰⁶ and the rie³⁶⁹⁸ were not smitten:⁵²²¹ for they²⁰⁰⁷ were not grown up.

³³ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² went out³³¹⁸ of the city⁵⁸⁹² from Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and spread abroad⁶⁵⁶⁶ his hands³⁷⁰⁹ unto the Lord:³⁰⁶⁸ and the thunders⁶⁹⁶³ and hail¹²⁵⁹ ceased,²³⁰⁸ and the rain⁴³⁰⁶ was not poured⁵⁴¹³ upon the earth.

³⁴ And when Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ saw⁷²⁰⁰ that the rain⁴³⁰⁶ and the hail¹²⁵⁹ and the thunders⁶⁹⁶³ were ceased,²³⁰⁸ he sinned²³⁹⁸ yet more,³²⁵⁴ and hardened³⁵¹³ his heart,³⁸²⁰ he and his servants.

³⁵ And the heart³⁸²⁰ of Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ was hardened,²³⁸⁸ neither would he let the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ go;⁷⁹⁷¹ as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had spoken¹⁶⁹⁶ by³⁰²⁷ Moses.

10And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Go⁹³⁵ in unto Pharaoh:⁶⁵⁴⁷ for I have hardened³⁵¹³ his heart,³⁸²⁰ and the heart³⁸²⁰ of his servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ that I might shew⁷⁸⁹⁶ these my signs²²⁶ before

² And that thou mayest tell⁵⁶⁰⁸ in the ears²⁴¹ of thy son,¹¹²¹ and of thy son's¹¹²¹ son,¹¹²¹ what things I have wrought⁵⁹⁵³ in Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and my signs²²⁶ which I have done⁷⁷⁶⁰ among them; that ye may know³⁰⁴⁵ how that I am the Lord.

³ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ came in⁹³⁵ unto Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ God⁴³⁰ of the Hebrews,⁵⁶⁸⁰ How long⁴⁹⁷⁰ wilt thou refuse³⁹⁸⁵ to humble⁶⁰³¹ thyself before⁶⁴⁴⁰ me? let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may serve

^4C Else,³⁵⁸⁸ if thou refuse³⁹⁸⁶ to let my people⁵⁹⁷¹ go,⁷⁹⁷¹ behold, to morrow⁴²⁷⁹ will I bring⁹³⁵ the locusts⁶⁹⁷ into thy coast:

⁵ And they shall cover³⁶⁸⁰ the face⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the earth,⁷⁷⁶ that one cannot be able³²⁰¹ to see⁷²⁰⁰ the earth:⁷⁷⁶ and they shall eat³⁹⁸ the residue³⁴⁹⁹ of that which is escaped,⁶⁴¹³ which remaineth⁷⁶⁰⁴ unto you from the hail,¹²⁵⁹ and shall eat³⁹⁸ every tree⁶⁰⁸⁶ which groweth⁶⁷⁷⁹ for you out of the field:

⁶ And they shall fill⁴³⁹⁰ thy houses,¹⁰⁰⁴ and the houses¹⁰⁰⁴ of all thy servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and the houses¹⁰⁰⁴ of all the Egyptians;⁴⁷¹⁴ which neither thy fathers,¹ nor thy fathers'¹ fathers¹ have seen,⁷²⁰⁰ since the day³¹¹⁷ that they were upon the earth¹²⁷ unto this day.³¹¹⁷ And he turned⁶⁴³⁷ himself, and went out³³¹⁸ from Pharaoh.

⁷ And Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ servants⁵⁶⁵⁰ said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, How long shall this man be a snare⁴¹⁷⁰ unto us? let the men⁵⁸² go,⁷⁹⁷¹ that they may serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ their God:⁴³⁰ knowest³⁰⁴⁵ thou not yet²⁹⁶² that Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ is destroyed?

⁸ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ were brought again⁷⁷²⁵ unto Pharaoh:⁶⁵⁴⁷ and he said⁵⁵⁹ unto them, Go,³²¹² serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ your God:⁴³⁰ but who are they that shall go?

⁹ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said,⁵⁵⁹ We will go³²¹² with our young⁵²⁸⁸ and with our old,²²⁰⁵ with our sons¹¹²¹ and with our daughters,¹³²³ with our flocks⁶⁶²⁹ and with our herds¹²⁴¹ will we go;³²¹² for we must hold a feast²²⁸² unto the Lord.

¹⁰ And he said⁵⁵⁹ unto them, Let the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ be so with you, as I will let you go,⁷⁹⁷¹ and your little ones:²⁹⁴⁵ look⁷²⁰⁰ to it; for evil⁷⁴⁵¹ is before

¹¹ Not so: go³²¹² now ye that are men,¹³⁹⁷ and serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ the Lord;³⁰⁶⁸ for that ye did desire.¹²⁴⁵ And they were driven out¹⁶⁴⁴ from Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ presence.

¹² And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Stretch out⁵¹⁸⁶ thine hand³⁰²⁷ over the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ for the locusts,⁶⁹⁷ that they may come up⁵⁹²⁷ upon the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and eat³⁹⁸ every herb⁶²¹² of the land,⁷⁷⁶ even all that the hail¹²⁵⁹ hath left.

¹³ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² stretched forth⁵¹⁸⁶ his rod⁴²⁹⁴ over the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ brought⁵⁰⁹⁰ an east⁶⁹²¹ wind⁷³⁰⁷ upon the land⁷⁷⁶ all that day,³¹¹⁷ and all that night;³⁹¹⁵ and when it was morning,¹²⁴² the east⁶⁹²¹ wind⁷³⁰⁷ brought⁵³⁷⁵ the locusts.

¹⁴ And the locusts⁶⁹⁷ went up⁵⁹²⁷ over all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and rested⁵¹¹⁷ in all the coasts¹³⁶⁶ of Egypt:⁴⁷¹⁴ very³⁹⁶⁶ grievous³⁵¹⁵ were they; before⁶⁴⁴⁰ them there were no such³⁶⁵¹ locusts⁶⁹⁷ as they, neither after

¹⁵ For they covered³⁶⁸⁰ the face⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the whole earth,⁷⁷⁶ so that the land⁷⁷⁶ was darkened;²⁸²¹ and they did eat³⁹⁸ every herb⁶²¹² of the land,⁷⁷⁶ and all the fruit⁶⁵²⁹ of the trees⁶⁰⁸⁶ which the hail¹²⁵⁹ had left:³⁴⁹⁸ and there remained³⁴⁹⁸ not any green thing³⁴¹⁸ in the trees,⁶⁰⁸⁶ or in the herbs⁶²¹² of the field,⁷⁷⁰⁴ through all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

¹⁶ Then Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ called⁷¹²¹ for Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ in haste;⁴¹¹⁶ and he said,⁵⁵⁹ I have sinned²³⁹⁸ against the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ your God,

¹⁷ Now therefore forgive,⁵³⁷⁵ I pray thee, my sin²⁴⁰³ only this once,⁶⁴⁷¹ and intreat⁶²⁷⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ your God,⁴³⁰ that he may take away⁵⁴⁹³ from me this death

¹⁸ And he went out³³¹⁸ from Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and intreated⁶²⁷⁹ the Lord.

¹⁹ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ turned²⁰¹⁵ a mighty³⁹⁶⁶ strong²³⁸⁹ west³²²⁰ wind,⁷³⁰⁷ which took away⁵³⁷⁵ the locusts,⁶⁹⁷ and cast⁸⁶²⁸ them into the Red⁵⁴⁸⁸ sea;³²²⁰ there remained⁷⁶⁰⁴ not one²⁵⁹ locust⁶⁹⁷ in all the coasts¹³⁶⁶ of Egypt.

²⁰ But the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ hardened²³⁸⁸ Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ heart,³⁸²⁰ so that he would not let the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ go.

^21C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Stretch out⁵¹⁸⁶ thine hand³⁰²⁷ toward heaven,⁸⁰⁶⁴ that there may be darkness²⁸²² over the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ even darkness²⁸²² which may be felt.

²² And Moses⁴⁸⁷² stretched forth⁵¹⁸⁶ his hand³⁰²⁷ toward heaven;⁸⁰⁶⁴ and there was a thick⁶⁵³ darkness²⁸²² in all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ three⁷⁹⁶⁹ days:

²³ They saw⁷²⁰⁰ not one³⁷⁶ another,²⁵¹ neither rose⁶⁹⁶⁵ any³⁷⁶ from his place for three⁷⁹⁶⁹ days:³¹¹⁷ but all the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ had light²¹⁶ in their dwellings.

²⁴ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ called⁷¹²¹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² and said,⁵⁵⁹ Go³²¹² ye, serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ the Lord;³⁰⁶⁸ only let your flocks⁶⁶²⁹ and your herds¹²⁴¹ be stayed:³³²² let your little ones²⁹⁴⁵ also go

²⁵ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said,⁵⁵⁹ Thou must give⁵⁴¹⁴ us³⁰²⁷ also sacrifices²⁰⁷⁷ and burnt offerings,⁵⁹³⁰ that we may sacrifice⁶²¹³ unto the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ our God.

²⁶ Our cattle⁴⁷³⁵ also shall go³²¹² with us; there shall not an hoof⁶⁵⁴¹ be left behind;⁷⁶⁰⁴ for thereof must we take³⁹⁴⁷ to serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ our God;⁴³⁰ and we know³⁰⁴⁵ not with what we must serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ until we come

²⁷ But the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ hardened²³⁸⁸ Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ heart,³⁸²⁰ and he would¹⁴ not let them go.

²⁸ And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ said⁵⁵⁹ unto him, Get³²¹² thee from me, take heed⁸¹⁰⁴ to thyself, see⁷²⁰⁰ my face⁶⁴⁴⁰ no more;³²⁵⁴ for in that day³¹¹⁷ thou seest⁷²⁰⁰ my face⁶⁴⁴⁰ thou shalt die.

²⁹ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said,⁵⁵⁹ Thou hast spoken¹⁶⁹⁶ well,³⁶⁵¹ I will see⁷²⁰⁰ thy face⁶⁴⁴⁰ again

11^CAnd the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Yet will I bring⁹³⁵ one²⁵⁹ plague⁵⁰⁶¹ more upon Pharaoh,⁶⁵⁴⁷ and upon Egypt;⁴⁷¹⁴ afterwards³¹⁰ he will let you go⁷⁹⁷¹ hence: when he shall let you go,⁷⁹⁷¹ he shall surely¹⁶⁴⁴ thrust you out¹⁶⁴⁴ hence altogether.

^2C Speak¹⁶⁹⁶ now in the ears²⁴¹ of the people,⁵⁹⁷¹ and let every man³⁷⁶ borrow⁷⁵⁹² of his neighbour,⁷⁴⁵³ and every woman⁸⁰² of her neighbour,⁷⁴⁶⁸ jewels³⁶²⁷ of silver,³⁷⁰¹ and jewels³⁶²⁷ of gold.

³ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ gave⁵⁴¹⁴ the people⁵⁹⁷¹ favour²⁵⁸⁰ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the Egyptians.⁴⁷¹⁴ Moreover the man³⁷⁶ Moses⁴⁸⁷² was very³⁹⁶⁶ great¹⁴¹⁹ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the people.

^4C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said,⁵⁵⁹ Thus saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ About midnight^39152676 will I go out³³¹⁸ into the midst⁸⁴³² of Egypt:

^5C And all the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ shall die,⁴¹⁹¹ from the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ of Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ that sitteth³⁴²⁷ upon his throne,³⁶⁷⁸ even unto the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ of the maidservant⁸¹⁹⁸ that is behind³¹⁰ the mill;⁷³⁴⁷ and all the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ of beasts.

^6C And there shall be¹⁹⁶¹ a great¹⁴¹⁹ cry⁶⁸¹⁸ throughout all the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ such as there was none³⁸⁰⁸ like it, nor³⁸⁰⁸ shall be like it any more.

⁷ But against any of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ shall not a dog³⁶¹¹ move²⁷⁸² his tongue,³⁹⁵⁶ against man³⁷⁶ or beast:⁹²⁹ that ye may know³⁰⁴⁵ how that the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ doth put a difference⁶³⁹⁵ between the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ and Israel.

⁸ And all these thy servants⁵⁶⁵⁰ shall come down³³⁸¹ unto me, and bow down⁷⁸¹² themselves unto me, saying,⁵⁵⁹ Get thee out,³³¹⁸ and all the people⁵⁹⁷¹ that follow⁷²⁷² thee: and after³¹⁰ that I will go out.³³¹⁸ And he went out³³¹⁸ from Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ in a great²⁷⁵⁰ anger.

⁹ And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ shall not hearken⁸⁰⁸⁵ unto you; that my wonders⁴¹⁵⁹ may be multiplied⁷²³⁵ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

^10C And Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ did⁶²¹³ all these wonders⁴¹⁵⁹ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ Pharaoh:⁶⁵⁴⁷ and the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ hardened²³⁸⁸ Pharaoh's⁶⁵⁴⁷ heart,³⁸²⁰ so that he would not let the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ go out⁷⁹⁷¹ of his land.

12^CAnd the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ saying,

^2C This month²³²⁰ shall be unto you the beginning⁷²¹⁸ of months:²³²⁰ it shall be the first⁷²²³ month²³²⁰ of the year

^3C Speak¹⁶⁹⁶ ye unto all the congregation⁵⁷¹² of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ saying,⁵⁵⁹ In the tenth⁶²¹⁸ day of this month²³²⁰ they shall take³⁹⁴⁷ to them every man³⁷⁶ a lamb,⁷⁷¹⁶ according to the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of their fathers,¹ a lamb⁷⁷¹⁶ for an house:

⁴ And if the household¹⁰⁰⁴ be¹⁹⁶¹ too little⁴⁵⁹¹ for the lamb,⁷⁷¹⁶ let him and his neighbour⁷⁹³⁴ next⁷¹³⁸ unto his house¹⁰⁰⁴ take³⁹⁴⁷ it according to the number⁴³⁷³ of the souls;⁵³¹⁵ every man³⁷⁶ according⁶³¹⁰ to his eating⁴⁰⁰ shall make your count³⁶⁹⁹ for the lamb.

^5C Your lamb⁷⁷¹⁶ shall be without blemish,⁸⁵⁴⁹ a male²¹⁴⁵ of the first¹¹²¹ year:⁸¹⁴¹ ye shall take³⁹⁴⁷ it out from the sheep,³⁵³² or from the goats:

^6C And ye shall keep⁴⁹³¹ it up until the fourteenth^7026240 day³¹¹⁷ of the same month:²³²⁰ and the whole³⁶⁰⁵ assembly⁶⁹⁵¹ of the congregation⁵⁷¹² of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ shall kill⁷⁸¹⁹ it in⁹⁹⁶ the evening.

^7C And they shall take³⁹⁴⁷ of the blood,¹⁸¹⁸ and strike⁵⁴¹⁴ it on the two⁸¹⁴⁷ side posts⁴²⁰¹ and on the upper door post⁴⁹⁴⁷ of the houses,¹⁰⁰⁴ wherein they shall eat

^8C And they shall eat³⁹⁸ the flesh¹³²⁰ in that night,³⁹¹⁵ roast⁶⁷⁴⁸ with fire,⁷⁸⁴ and unleavened bread;⁴⁶⁸² and with bitter⁴⁸⁴⁴ herbs they shall eat

⁹ Eat³⁹⁸ not of it raw,⁴⁹⁹⁵ nor sodden^13101311 at all with water,⁴³²⁵ but roast⁶⁷⁴⁸ with fire;⁷⁸⁴ his head⁷²¹⁸ with his legs,³⁷⁶⁷ and with the purtenance

^10C And ye shall let nothing of it remain³⁴⁹⁸ until the morning;¹²⁴² and that which remaineth³⁴⁹⁸ of it until the morning¹²⁴² ye shall burn⁸³¹³ with fire.

^11C And thus³⁶⁰² shall ye eat³⁹⁸ it; with your loins⁴⁹⁷⁵ girded,²²⁹⁶ your shoes⁵²⁷⁵ on your feet,⁷²⁷² and your staff⁴⁷³¹ in your hand;³⁰²⁷ and ye shall eat³⁹⁸ it in haste:²⁶⁴⁹ it is the Lord’s³⁰⁶⁸ passover.

^12C For I will pass⁵⁶⁷⁴ through the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ this night,³⁹¹⁵ and will smite⁵²²¹ all the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ both man¹²⁰ and beast;⁹²⁹ and against all the gods⁴³⁰ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ I will execute⁶²¹³ judgment:⁸²⁰¹ I am the Lord.

^13C And the blood¹⁸¹⁸ shall be to you for a token²²⁶ upon the houses¹⁰⁰⁴ where ye are: and when I see⁷²⁰⁰ the blood,¹⁸¹⁸ I will pass⁶⁴⁵² over you, and the plague⁵⁰⁶³ shall not be upon you to destroy⁴⁸⁸⁹ you, when I smite⁵²²¹ the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

^14C And this day³¹¹⁷ shall be unto you for a memorial;²¹⁴⁶ and ye shall keep²²⁸⁷ it a feast²²⁸² to the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ throughout your generations;¹⁷⁵⁵ ye shall keep it a feast²²⁸⁷ by an ordinance²⁷⁰⁸ for ever.

^15C Seven⁷⁶⁵¹ days³¹¹⁷ shall ye eat³⁹⁸ unleavened bread;⁴⁶⁸² even³⁸⁹ the first⁷²²³ day³¹¹⁷ ye shall put away⁷⁶⁷³ leaven⁷⁶⁰³ out of your houses:¹⁰⁰⁴ for whosoever eateth³⁹⁸ leavened bread²⁵⁵⁷ from the first⁷²²³ day³¹¹⁷ until the seventh⁷⁶³⁷ day,³¹¹⁷ that soul⁵³¹⁵ shall be cut³⁷⁷² off from Israel.

^16C And in the first⁷²²³ day³¹¹⁷ there shall be an holy⁶⁹⁴⁴ convocation,⁴⁷⁴⁴ and in the seventh⁷⁶³⁷ day³¹¹⁷ there shall be an holy⁶⁹⁴⁴ convocation⁴⁷⁴⁴ to you; no manner of work⁴³⁹⁹ shall be done⁶²¹³ in them, save³⁸⁹ that which every man⁵³¹⁵ must eat,³⁹⁸ that only may be done

^17C And ye shall observe⁸¹⁰⁴ the feast of unleavened bread;⁴⁶⁸² for in this selfsame⁶¹⁰⁶ day³¹¹⁷ have I brought³³¹⁸ your armies⁶⁶³⁵ out of the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt:⁴⁷¹⁴ therefore shall ye observe⁸¹⁰⁴ this day³¹¹⁷ in your generations¹⁷⁵⁵ by an ordinance²⁷⁰⁸ for ever.

^18C In the first⁷²²³ month, on the fourteenth^6240702 day³¹¹⁷ of the month²³²⁰ at even,⁶¹⁵³ ye shall eat³⁹⁸ unleavened bread,⁴⁶⁸² until the one²⁵⁹ and twentieth⁶²⁴² day³¹¹⁷ of the month²³²⁰ at even.

^19C Seven⁷⁶⁵¹ days³¹¹⁷ shall there be no leaven⁷⁶⁰³ found⁴⁶⁷² in your houses:¹⁰⁰⁴ for whosoever eateth³⁹⁸ that which is leavened,²⁵⁵⁶ even that soul⁵³¹⁵ shall be cut off³⁷⁷² from the congregation⁵⁷¹² of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ whether he be a stranger,¹⁶¹⁶ or born²⁴⁹ in the land.

²⁰ Ye shall eat³⁹⁸ nothing leavened;²⁵⁵⁶ in all your habitations⁴¹⁸⁶ shall ye eat³⁹⁸ unleavened bread.

²¹ Then Moses⁴⁸⁷² called⁷¹²¹ for all the elders²²⁰⁵ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ and said⁵⁵⁹ unto them, Draw out⁴⁹⁰⁰ and take³⁹⁴⁷ you a lamb⁶⁶²⁹ according to your families,⁴⁹⁴⁰ and kill⁷⁸¹⁹ the passover.

^22C And ye shall take³⁹⁴⁷ a bunch⁹² of hyssop,²³¹ and dip²⁸⁸¹ it in the blood¹⁸¹⁸ that is in the bason,⁵⁵⁹² and strike⁵⁰⁶⁰ the lintel⁴⁹⁴⁷ and the two⁸¹⁴⁷ side posts⁴²⁰¹ with the blood¹⁸¹⁸ that is in the bason;⁵⁵⁹² and none³⁷⁶ of you shall go out³³¹⁸ at the door⁶⁶⁰⁷ of his house¹⁰⁰⁴ until the morning.

^23C For the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ will pass through⁵⁶⁷⁴ to smite⁵⁰⁶² the Egyptians;⁴⁷¹⁴ and when he seeth⁷²⁰⁰ the blood¹⁸¹⁸ upon the lintel,⁴⁹⁴⁷ and on the two⁸¹⁴⁷ side posts,⁴²⁰¹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ will pass over⁶⁴⁵² the door,⁶⁶⁰⁷ and will not suffer⁵⁴¹⁴ the destroyer⁷⁸⁴³ to come⁹³⁵ in unto your houses¹⁰⁰⁴ to smite

²⁴ And ye shall observe⁸¹⁰⁴ this thing¹⁶⁹⁷ for an ordinance²⁷⁰⁶ to thee and to thy sons¹¹²¹ for⁵⁷⁰⁴ ever.

²⁵ And it shall come to pass, when ye be come⁹³⁵ to the land⁷⁷⁶ which the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ will give⁵⁴¹⁴ you, according as he hath promised,¹⁶⁹⁶ that ye shall keep⁸¹⁰⁴ this service.

²⁶ And it shall come to pass, when your children¹¹²¹ shall say⁵⁵⁹ unto you, What mean ye by this service?

^27C That ye shall say,⁵⁵⁹ It is the sacrifice²⁰⁷⁷ of the Lord’s³⁰⁶⁸ passover,⁶⁴⁵³ who passed⁶⁴⁵² over the houses¹⁰⁰⁴ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ in Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ when he smote⁵⁰⁶² the Egyptians,⁴⁷¹⁴ and delivered⁵³³⁷ our houses.¹⁰⁰⁴ And the people⁵⁹⁷¹ bowed the head⁶⁹¹⁵ and worshipped.

²⁸ And the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ went away,³²¹² and did⁶²¹³ as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ had commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron,¹⁷⁵ so did

^29C And it came to pass, that at midnight^26773915 the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ smote⁵²²¹ all the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ in the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ from the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ of Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ that sat³⁴²⁷ on his throne³⁶⁷⁸ unto the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ of the captive⁷⁶²⁸ that was in the dungeon;^1004953 and all the firstborn¹⁰⁶⁰ of cattle.

^30C And Pharaoh⁶⁵⁴⁷ rose up⁶⁹⁶⁵ in the night,³⁹¹⁵ he, and all his servants,⁵⁶⁵⁰ and all the Egyptians;⁴⁷¹⁴ and there was a great¹⁴¹⁹ cry⁶⁸¹⁸ in Egypt;⁴⁷¹⁴ for there was not a house¹⁰⁰⁴ where there was not one dead.

^31C And he called⁷¹²¹ for Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron¹⁷⁵ by night,³⁹¹⁵ and said,⁵⁵⁹ Rise up,⁶⁹⁶⁵ and get you forth³³¹⁸ from among⁸⁴³² my people,⁵⁹⁷¹ both ye and the children¹¹²¹ of Israel;³⁴⁷⁸ and go,³²¹² serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ as ye have said.

^32C Also take³⁹⁴⁷ your flocks⁶⁶²⁹ and your herds,¹²⁴¹ as ye have said,¹⁶⁹⁶ and be gone;³²¹² and bless

³³ And the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ were urgent²³⁸⁸ upon the people,⁵⁹⁷¹ that they might send⁷⁹⁷¹ them out of the land⁷⁷⁶ in haste;⁴¹¹⁶ for they said,⁵⁵⁹ We be all dead

³⁴ And the people⁵⁹⁷¹ took⁵³⁷⁵ their dough¹²¹⁷ before it was leavened,²⁵⁵⁶ their kneadingtroughs⁴⁸⁶³ being bound up⁶⁸⁸⁷ in their clothes⁸⁰⁷¹ upon their shoulders.

^35C And the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ did⁶²¹³ according to the word¹⁶⁹⁷ of Moses;⁴⁸⁷² and they borrowed⁷⁵⁹² of the Egyptians⁴⁷¹⁴ jewels³⁶²⁷ of silver,³⁷⁰¹ and jewels³⁶²⁷ of gold,²⁰⁹¹ and raiment:

^36C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ gave⁵⁴¹⁴ the people⁵⁹⁷¹ favour²⁵⁸⁰ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the Egyptians,⁴⁷¹⁴ so that they lent⁷⁵⁹² unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled⁵³³⁷ the Egyptians.

^37C And the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ journeyed⁵²⁶⁵ from Rameses⁷⁴⁸⁶ to Succoth,⁵⁵²³ about six⁸³³⁷ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ thousand⁵⁰⁵ on foot⁷²⁷³ that were men,¹³⁹⁷ beside⁹⁰⁵ children.

³⁸ And a mixed⁶¹⁵⁴ multitude⁷²²⁷ went up⁵⁹²⁷ also with them; and flocks,⁶⁶²⁹ and herds,¹²⁴¹ even very³⁹⁶⁶ much³⁵¹⁵ cattle.

³⁹ And they baked⁶⁴⁴ unleavened⁴⁶⁸² cakes⁵⁶⁹² of the dough¹²¹⁷ which they brought forth³³¹⁸ out of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ for it was not leavened;²⁵⁵⁶ because they were thrust out¹⁶⁴⁴ of Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ and could³²⁰¹ not tarry,⁴¹⁰² neither had they prepared⁶²¹³ for themselves any victual.

^40C Now the sojourning⁴¹⁸⁶ of the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ who dwelt³⁴²⁷ in Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ was four⁷⁰² hundred^39678141 and thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ years.

^41C And it came to pass at the end⁷⁰⁹³ of the four⁷⁰² hundred^39678141 and thirty⁷⁹⁷⁰ years,⁸¹⁴¹ even the selfsame⁶¹⁰⁶ day³¹¹⁷ it came to pass, that all the hosts⁶⁶³⁵ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ went out³³¹⁸ from the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt.

⁴² It is a night³⁹¹⁵ to be much observed⁸¹⁰⁷ unto the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ for bringing³³¹⁸ them out from the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt:⁴⁷¹⁴ this is that night³⁹¹⁵ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ to be observed⁸¹⁰⁷ of all the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ in their generations.

^43C And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron,¹⁷⁵ This is the ordinance²⁷⁰⁸ of the passover:⁶⁴⁵³ There shall no stranger^11215236 eat

^44C But every man's³⁷⁶ servant⁵⁶⁵⁰ that is bought⁴⁷³⁶ for money,³⁷⁰¹ when thou hast circumcised⁴¹³⁵ him, then shall he eat

⁴⁵ A foreigner⁸⁴⁵³ and an hired servant⁷⁹¹⁶ shall not eat

^46C In one²⁵⁹ house¹⁰⁰⁴ shall it be eaten;³⁹⁸ thou shalt not carry forth³³¹⁸ ought of the flesh¹³²⁰ abroad²³⁵¹ out of the house;¹⁰⁰⁴ neither shall ye break⁷⁶⁶⁵ a bone

⁴⁷ All the congregation⁵⁷¹² of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ shall keep

⁴⁸ And when a stranger¹⁶¹⁶ shall sojourn¹⁴⁸¹ with thee, and will keep⁶²¹³ the passover⁶⁴⁵³ to the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ let all his males²¹⁴⁵ be circumcised,⁴¹³⁵ and then let him come near⁷¹²⁶ and keep⁶²¹³ it; and he shall be as one that is born²⁴⁹ in the land:⁷⁷⁶ for no uncircumcised person⁶¹⁸⁹ shall eat

^49C One²⁵⁹ law⁸⁴⁵¹ shall be to him that is homeborn,²⁴⁹ and unto the stranger¹⁶¹⁶ that sojourneth¹⁴⁸¹ among

⁵⁰ Thus did⁶²¹³ all the children¹¹²¹ of Israel;³⁴⁷⁸ as the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ Moses⁴⁸⁷² and Aaron,¹⁷⁵ so did

⁵¹ And it came to pass the selfsame⁶¹⁰⁶ day,³¹¹⁷ that the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ did bring³³¹⁸ the children¹¹²¹ of Israel³⁴⁷⁸ out of the land⁷⁷⁶ of Egypt⁴⁷¹⁴ by their armies.

13And the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake¹⁶⁹⁶ unto Moses,⁴⁸⁷² saying,

^2C Sanctify⁶⁹⁴² unto me all the firstborn,¹⁰⁶⁰ whatsoever openeth⁶³⁶³ the womb⁷³⁵⁸ among the children¹¹²¹ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ both of man¹²⁰ and of beast:

³ And Moses⁴⁸⁷² said⁵⁵⁹ unto the people,⁵⁹⁷¹ Remember²¹⁴² this²⁰⁸⁸ day,³¹¹⁷ in which ye came out³³¹⁸ from Egypt,⁴⁷¹⁴ out of the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of bondage;⁵⁶⁵⁰ for by strength²³⁹² of hand³⁰²⁷ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ brought you out³³¹⁸ from this place: there shall no leavened bread²⁵⁵⁷ be eaten.
