1CNow these are the names8034 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 which came935 into Egypt;4714 every man376 and his household1004 came935 with Jacob.

2 Reuben,7205 Simeon,8095 Levi,3878 and Judah,

3 Issachar,3485 Zebulun,2074 and Benjamin,

4 Dan,1835 and Naphtali,5321 Gad,1410 and Asher.

5C And all the souls5315 that came out3318 of the loins3409 of Jacob3290 were seventy7657 souls:5315 for Joseph3130 was in Egypt

6C And Joseph3130 died,4191 and all his brethren,251 and all that generation.

7C And the children1121 of Israel3478 were fruitful,6509 and increased abundantly,8317 and multiplied,7235 and waxed exceeding39663966 mighty;6105 and the land776 was filled

8C Now there arose up6965 a new2319 king4428 over Egypt,4714 which knew3045 not Joseph.

9C And he said559 unto his people,5971 Behold, the people5971 of the children1121 of Israel3478 are more7227 and mightier

10 Come on,3051 let us deal wisely2449 with them; lest they multiply,7235 and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out7122 any war,4421 they1931 join3254 also unto our enemies,8130 and fight3898 against us, and so get them up5927 out of the land.

11C Therefore they did set7760 over them taskmasters45228269 to afflict6031 them with their burdens.5450 And they built1129 for Pharaoh6547 treasure4543 cities,5892 Pithom6619 and Raamses.

12C But the more they afflicted6031 them, the more3651 they multiplied7235 and grew.6555 And they were grieved6973 because6440 of the children1121 of Israel.

13 And the Egyptians4714 made5647 the children1121 of Israel3478 to serve5647 with rigour:

14C And they made4843 their lives2416 bitter4843 with hard7186 bondage,5656 in morter,2563 and in brick,3843 and in all manner of service5656 in the field:7704 all their service,5656 wherein they made them serve,5647 was with rigour.

15 And the king4428 of Egypt4714 spake559 to the Hebrew5680 midwives,3205 of which the name8034 of the one259 was Shiphrah,8236 and the name8034 of the other8145 Puah:

16C And he said,559 When ye do the office of a midwife3205 to the Hebrew women,5680 and see7200 them upon the stools;70 if it be a son,1121 then ye shall kill4191 him: but if it be a daughter,1323 then she shall live.

17 But the midwives3205 feared3372 God,430 and did6213 not as the king4428 of Egypt4714 commanded1696 them, but saved2421 the men children3206 alive.

18 And the king4428 of Egypt4714 called7121 for the midwives,3205 and said559 unto them, Why4069 have ye done6213 this thing,1697 and have saved2421 the men children3206 alive?

19 And the midwives3205 said559 unto Pharaoh,6547 Because the Hebrew5680 women802 are not as the Egyptian women;4713 for they are lively,2422 and are delivered3205 ere2962 the midwives3205 come in

20 Therefore God430 dealt well3190 with the midwives:3205 and the people5971 multiplied,7235 and waxed very3966 mighty.

21 And it came to pass, because the midwives3205 feared3372 God,430 that he made6213 them houses.

22 And Pharaoh6547 charged6680 all his people,5971 saying,559 Every son1121 that is born3209 ye shall cast7993 into the river,2975 and every daughter1323 ye shall save alive.

2CAnd there went3212 a man376 of the house1004 of Levi,3878 and took3947 to wife a daughter1323 of Levi.

2C And the woman802 conceived,2029 and bare3205 a son:1121 and when she saw7200 him that he was a goodly2896 child, she hid6845 him three7969 months.

3C And when she could3201 not longer5750 hide6845 him, she took3947 for him an ark8392 of bulrushes,1573 and daubed2560 it with slime2564 and with pitch,2203 and put7760 the child3206 therein; and she laid7760 it in the flags5488 by the river's2975 brink.

4C And his sister269 stood3320 afar off,7350 to wit3045 what would be done

5C And the daughter1323 of Pharaoh6547 came down3381 to wash7364 herself at the river;2975 and her maidens5291 walked1980 along by the river's2975 side;3027 and when she saw7200 the ark8392 among8432 the flags,5488 she sent7971 her maid519 to fetch

6 And when she had opened6605 it, she saw7200 the child:3206 and, behold, the babe5288 wept.1058 And she had compassion2550 on him, and said,559 This is one of the Hebrews'5680 children.

7 Then said559 his sister269 to Pharaoh's6547 daughter,1323 Shall I go3212 and call7121 to thee a nurse3243 of the Hebrew5680 women,802 that she may nurse3243 the child

8C And Pharaoh's6547 daughter1323 said559 to her, Go.3212 And the maid5959 went3212 and called7121 the child's3206 mother.

9 And Pharaoh's6547 daughter1323 said559 unto her, Take3212 this child3206 away,3212 and nurse3243 it for me, and I will give5414 thee thy wages.7939 And the woman802 took3947 the child,3206 and nursed

10C And the child3206 grew,1431 and she brought935 him unto Pharaoh's6547 daughter,1323 and he became her son.1121 And she called7121 his name8034 Moses:4872 and she said,559 Because I drew4871 him out of the water.

11C And it came to pass in those days,3117 when Moses4872 was grown,1431 that he went out3318 unto his brethren,251 and looked7200 on their burdens:5450 and he spied7200 an Egyptian4713376 smiting5221 an Hebrew,5680 one of his brethren.

12C And he looked6437 this way3541 and that way,3541 and when he saw7200 that there was no man,376 he slew5221 the Egyptian,4713 and hid2934 him in the sand.

13 And when he went out3318 the second8145 day,3117 behold, two8147 men582 of the Hebrews5680 strove5327 together: and he said559 to him that did the wrong,7563 Wherefore smitest5221 thou thy fellow?

14C And he said,559 Who made7760 thee376 a prince8269 and a judge8199 over us? intendest559 thou to kill2026 me, as thou killedst2026 the Egyptian?4713 And Moses4872 feared,3372 and said,559 Surely403 this thing1697 is known.

15C Now when Pharaoh6547 heard8085 this thing,1697 he sought1245 to slay2026 Moses.4872 But Moses4872 fled1272 from the face6440 of Pharaoh,6547 and dwelt3427 in the land776 of Midian:4080 and he sat down3427 by a well.

16 Now the priest3548 of Midian4080 had seven7651 daughters:1323 and they came935 and drew1802 water, and filled4390 the troughs7298 to water8248 their father's1 flock.

17C And the shepherds7462 came935 and drove them away:1644 but Moses4872 stood up6965 and helped3467 them, and watered8248 their flock.

18 And when they came935 to Reuel7467 their father,1 he said,559 How4069 is it that ye are come935 so soon4116 to day?

19 And they said,559 An Egyptian4713376 delivered5337 us out of the hand3027 of the shepherds,7462 and also drew1802 water enough1802 for us, and watered8248 the flock.

20 And he said559 unto his daughters,1323 And where is he? why is it that ye have left5800 the man?376 call7121 him, that he may eat398 bread.

21C And Moses4872 was content2974 to dwell3427 with the man:376 and he gave5414 Moses4872 Zipporah6855 his daughter.

22C And she bare3205 him a son,1121 and he called7121 his name8034 Gershom:1647 for he said,559 I have been a stranger1616 in a strange5237 land.

23 And it came to pass in process19927227 of time,3117 that the king4428 of Egypt4714 died:4191 and the children1121 of Israel3478 sighed584 by reason of4480 the bondage,5656 and they cried,2199 and their cry7775 came up5927 unto God430 by reason of the bondage.

24 And God430 heard8085 their groaning,5009 and God430 remembered2142 his covenant1285 with Abraham,85 with Isaac,3327 and with Jacob.

25 And God430 looked7200 upon the children1121 of Israel,3478 and God430 had respect

3CNow Moses4872 kept19617462 the flock6629 of Jethro3503 his father in law,2859 the priest3548 of Midian:4080 and he led5090 the flock6629 to the backside310 of the desert,4057 and came935 to the mountain2022 of God,430 even to Horeb.

2C And the angel4397 of the Lord3068 appeared7200 unto him in a flame3827 of fire784 out of the midst8432 of a bush:5572 and he looked,7200 and, behold, the bush5572 burned1197 with fire,784 and the bush5572 was not consumed.

3 And Moses4872 said,559 I will now turn aside,5493 and see7200 this great1419 sight,4758 why4069 the bush5572 is not burnt.

4 And when the Lord3068 saw7200 that he turned aside5493 to see,7200 God430 called7121 unto him out of the midst8432 of the bush,5572 and said,559 Moses,4872 Moses.4872 And he said,

5C And he said,559 Draw not nigh7126 hither:1988 put off5394 thy shoes5275 from off thy feet,7272 for the place4725 whereon834 thou standest5975 is holy6944 ground.

6C Moreover he said,559 I am the God430 of thy father,1 the God430 of Abraham,85 the God430 of Isaac,3327 and the God430 of Jacob.3290 And Moses4872 hid5641 his face;6440 for he was afraid3372 to look5027 upon God.

7C And the Lord3068 said,559 I have surely7200 seen7200 the affliction6040 of my people5971 which are in Egypt,4714 and have heard8085 their cry6818 by reason6440 of their taskmasters;5065 for I know3045 their sorrows;

8C And I am come down3381 to deliver5337 them out of the hand3027 of the Egyptians,4714 and to bring5927 them up out of that land776 unto a good2896 land776 and a large,7342 unto a land776 flowing2100 with milk2461 and honey;1706 unto the place4725 of the Canaanites,3669 and the Hittites,2850 and the Amorites,567 and the Perizzites,6522 and the Hivites,2340 and the Jebusites.

9 Now therefore, behold, the cry6818 of the children1121 of Israel3478 is come935 unto me: and I have also seen7200 the oppression3906 wherewith the Egyptians4714 oppress

10C Come3212 now therefore, and I will send7971 thee unto Pharaoh,6547 that thou mayest bring forth3318 my people5971 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of Egypt.

11C And Moses4872 said559 unto God,430 Who am I, that I should go3212 unto Pharaoh,6547 and that I should bring forth3318 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of Egypt?

12C And he said,559 Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token226 unto thee, that3588 I have sent7971 thee: When thou hast brought forth3318 the people5971 out of Egypt,4714 ye shall serve5647 God430 upon this mountain.

13 And Moses4872 said559 unto God,430 Behold, when I come935 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 and shall say559 unto them, The God430 of your fathers1 hath sent7971 me unto you; and they shall say559 to me, What is his name?8034 what shall I say

14C And God430 said559 unto Moses,4872 I AM1961 THAT I AM:1961 and he said,559 Thus shalt thou say559 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 I AM hath sent

15C And God430 said559 moreover5750 unto Moses,4872 Thus shalt thou say559 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 The Lord3068 God430 of your fathers,1 the God430 of Abraham,85 the God430 of Isaac,3327 and the God430 of Jacob,3290 hath sent7971 me unto you: this is my name8034 for ever,5769 and this is my memorial2143 unto all1755 generations.

16 Go,3212 and gather622 the elders2205 of Israel3478 together,622 and say559 unto them, The Lord3068 God430 of your fathers,1 the God430 of Abraham,85 of Isaac,3327 and of Jacob,3290 appeared7200 unto me, saying,559 I have surely6485 visited6485 you, and seen that which is done6213 to you in Egypt:

17C And I have said,559 I will bring5927 you up out of the affliction6040 of Egypt4714 unto the land776 of the Canaanites,3669 and the Hittites,2850 and the Amorites,567 and the Perizzites,6522 and the Hivites,2340 and the Jebusites,2983 unto a land776 flowing2100 with milk2461 and honey.

18 And they shall hearken8085 to thy voice:6963 and thou shalt come,935 thou and the elders2205 of Israel,3478 unto the king4428 of Egypt,4714 and ye shall say559 unto him, The Lord3068 God430 of the Hebrews5680 hath met7136 with us: and now let us go,3212 we beseech thee, three7969 days'3117 journey1870 into the wilderness,4057 that we may sacrifice2076 to the Lord3068 our God.

19 And I am sure3045 that the king4428 of Egypt4714 will not let5414 you go,1980 no, not by a mighty2389 hand.

20 And I will stretch out7971 my hand,3027 and smite5221 Egypt4714 with all my wonders6381 which I will do6213 in the midst7130 thereof: and after310 that he will let you go.

21 And I will give5414 this people5971 favour2580 in the sight5869 of the Egyptians:4714 and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go,3212 ye shall not go3212 empty:

22C But every woman802 shall borrow7592 of her neighbour,7934 and of her that sojourneth1481 in her house,1004 jewels3627 of silver,3701 and jewels3627 of gold,2091 and raiment:8071 and ye shall put7760 them upon your sons,1121 and upon your daughters;1323 and ye shall spoil5337 the Egyptians.

4CAnd Moses4872 answered6030 and said,559 But, behold, they will not believe539 me, nor hearken8085 unto my voice:6963 for they will say,559 The Lord3068 hath not appeared

2C And the Lord3068 said559 unto him, What is that in thine hand?3027 And he said,559 A rod.

3C And he said,559 Cast7993 it on the ground.776 And he cast7993 it on the ground,776 and it became a serpent;5175 and Moses4872 fled5127 from before

4C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Put forth7971 thine hand,3027 and take270 it by the tail.2180 And he put forth7971 his hand,3027 and caught2388 it, and it became a rod4294 in his hand:

5 That they may believe539 that the Lord3068 God430 of their fathers,1 the God430 of Abraham,85 the God430 of Isaac,3327 and the God430 of Jacob,3290 hath appeared

6C And the Lord3068 said559 furthermore5750 unto him, Put935 now thine hand3027 into thy bosom.2436 And he put935 his hand3027 into his bosom:2436 and when he took3318 it out, behold, his hand3027 was leprous6879 as snow.

7C And he said,559 Put7725 thine hand3027 into thy bosom2436 again.7725 And he put7725 his hand3027 into his bosom2436 again;7725 and plucked3318 it out of his bosom,2436 and, behold, it was turned again7725 as his other flesh.

8C And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe539 thee, neither hearken8085 to the voice6963 of the first7223 sign,226 that they will believe539 the voice6963 of the latter314 sign.

9C And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe539 also these two8147 signs,226 neither hearken8085 unto thy voice,6963 that thou shalt take3947 of the water4325 of the river,2975 and pour8210 it upon the dry3004 land: and the water4325 which thou takest3947 out of the river2975 shall become blood1818 upon the dry

10C And Moses4872 said559 unto the Lord,3068 O994 my Lord,136 I376 am not eloquent,1697 neither heretofore,80328543 nor since227 thou hast spoken1696 unto thy servant:5650 but I am slow3515 of speech,6310 and of a slow3515 tongue.

11C And the Lord3068 said559 unto him, Who hath made7760 man's120 mouth?6310 or who maketh7760 the dumb,483 or deaf,2795 or the seeing,6493 or the blind?5787 have not I the Lord?

12C Now therefore go,3212 and I will be with thy mouth,6310 and teach3384 thee what thou shalt say.

13 And he said,559 O994 my Lord,136 send,7971 I pray thee, by the hand3027 of him whom thou wilt send.

14 And the anger639 of the Lord3068 was kindled2734 against Moses,4872 and he said,559 Is not Aaron175 the Levite3881 thy brother?251 I know3045 that he can speak1696 well.1696 And also, behold, he cometh forth3318 to meet7125 thee: and when he seeth7200 thee, he will be glad8055 in his heart.

15 And thou shalt speak1696 unto him, and put7760 words1697 in his mouth:6310 and I will be with thy mouth,6310 and with his mouth,6310 and will teach3384 you what ye shall do.

16C And he shall be thy spokesman1696 unto the people:5971 and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth,6310 and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

17 And thou shalt take3947 this rod4294 in thine hand,3027 wherewith thou shalt do6213 signs.

18 And Moses4872 went3212 and returned7725 to Jethro3500 his father in law,2859 and said559 unto him, Let me go,3212 I pray thee, and return7725 unto my brethren251 which are in Egypt,4714 and see7200 whether they be yet5750 alive.2416 And Jethro3503 said559 to Moses,4872 Go3212 in peace.

19 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses4872 in Midian,4080 Go,3212 return7725 into Egypt:4714 for all the men582 are dead4191 which sought1245 thy life.

20 And Moses4872 took3947 his wife802 and his sons,1121 and set7392 them upon an ass,2543 and he returned7725 to the land776 of Egypt:4714 and Moses4872 took3947 the rod4294 of God430 in his hand.

21C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 When thou goest3212 to return7725 into Egypt,4714 see7200 that thou do6213 all those wonders4159 before6440 Pharaoh,6547 which I have put7760 in thine hand:3027 but I will harden2388 his heart,3820 that he shall not let the people5971 go.

22C And thou shalt say559 unto Pharaoh,6547 Thus saith559 the Lord,3068 Israel3478 is my son,1121 even my firstborn:

23 And I say559 unto thee, Let my son1121 go,7971 that he may serve5647 me: and if thou refuse3985 to let him go,7971 behold, I will slay2026 thy son,1121 even thy firstborn.

24 And it came to pass by the way1870 in the inn,4411 that the Lord3068 met6298 him, and sought1245 to kill

25 Then Zipporah6855 took3947 a sharp stone,6864 and cut off3772 the foreskin6190 of her son,1121 and cast5060 it at his feet,7272 and said,559 Surely a bloody1818 husband

26C So he let him go:7503 then she said,559 A bloody1818 husband2860 thou art, because of the circumcision.

27C And the Lord3068 said559 to Aaron,175 Go3212 into the wilderness4057 to meet7125 Moses.4872 And he went,3212 and met6298 him in the mount2022 of God,430 and kissed

28 And Moses4872 told5046 Aaron175 all the words1697 of the Lord3068 who had sent7971 him, and all the signs226 which he had commanded

29 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 went3212 and gathered together622 all the elders2205 of the children1121 of Israel:

30 And Aaron175 spake1696 all the words1697 which the Lord3068 had spoken1696 unto Moses,4872 and did6213 the signs226 in the sight5869 of the people.

31 And the people5971 believed:539 and when they heard8085 that the Lord3068 had visited6485 the children1121 of Israel,3478 and that he had looked7200 upon their affliction,6040 then they bowed their heads6915 and worshipped.

5And afterward310 Moses4872 and Aaron175 went in,935 and told559 Pharaoh,6547 Thus saith559 the Lord3068 God430 of Israel,3478 Let my people5971 go,7971 that they may hold a feast2287 unto me in the wilderness.

2C And Pharaoh6547 said,559 Who is the Lord,3068 that I should obey8085 his voice6963 to let Israel3478 go?7971 I know3045 not the Lord,3068 neither will I let Israel3478 go.

3 And they said,559 The God430 of the Hebrews5680 hath met7122 with us: let us go,3212 we pray thee, three7969 days'3117 journey1870 into the desert,4057 and sacrifice2076 unto the Lord3068 our God;430 lest he fall6293 upon us with pestilence,1698 or with the sword.

4 And the king4428 of Egypt4714 said559 unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses4872 and Aaron,175 let6544 the people5971 from their works?4639 get3212 you unto your burdens.

5 And Pharaoh6547 said,559 Behold, the people5971 of the land776 now are many,7227 and ye make them rest7673 from their burdens.

6 And Pharaoh6547 commanded6680 the same day3117 the taskmasters5065 of the people,5971 and their officers,7860 saying,

7C Ye shall no more3254 give5414 the people5971 straw8401 to make3835 brick,3843 as heretofore:80328543 let them go3212 and gather7197 straw

8 And the tale4971 of the bricks,3843 which they did make6213 heretofore,80328543 ye shall lay7760 upon them; ye shall not diminish1639 ought thereof: for they be idle;7503 therefore they cry,6817 saying,559 Let us go3212 and sacrifice2076 to our God.

9C Let there more work5656 be laid3513 upon the men,582 that they may labour6213 therein; and let them not regard8159 vain8267 words.

10 And the taskmasters5065 of the people5971 went out,3318 and their officers,7860 and they spake559 to the people,5971 saying,559 Thus saith559 Pharaoh,6547 I will not give5414 you straw.

11 Go3212 ye, get3947 you straw8401 where834 ye can find4672 it: yet3588 not ought1697 of your work5656 shall be diminished.

12C So the people5971 were scattered abroad6327 throughout all the land776 of Egypt4714 to gather7197 stubble7179 instead of straw.

13 And the taskmasters5065 hasted213 them, saying,559 Fulfil3615 your works,4639 your daily3117 tasks,1697 as when there was1961 straw.

14 And the officers7860 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 which Pharaoh's6547 taskmasters5065 had set7760 over them, were beaten,5221 and demanded,559 Wherefore have ye not fulfilled3615 your task2706 in making brick3835 both yesterday8543 and to day,3117 as heretofore?8032

15 Then the officers7860 of the children1121 of Israel3478 came935 and cried6817 unto Pharaoh,6547 saying,559 Wherefore dealest6213 thou thus with thy servants?

16 There is no straw8401 given5414 unto thy servants,5650 and they say559 to us, Make6213 brick:3843 and, behold, thy servants5650 are beaten;5221 but the fault2398 is in thine own people.

17C But he said,559 Ye are idle,7503 ye are idle:7503 therefore ye say,559 Let us go3212 and do sacrifice2076 to the Lord.

18 Go3212 therefore now, and work;5647 for there shall no straw8401 be given5414 you, yet shall ye deliver5414 the tale8506 of bricks.

19 And the officers7860 of the children1121 of Israel3478 did see7200 that they were in evil7451 case, after it was said,559 Ye shall not minish1639 ought from your bricks3843 of your daily31173117 task.

20 And they met6293 Moses4872 and Aaron,175 who stood5324 in the way,7125 as they came forth3318 from Pharaoh:

21 And they said559 unto them, The Lord3068 look7200 upon you, and judge;8199 because ye have made our savour7381 to be abhorred887 in the eyes5869 of Pharaoh,6547 and in the eyes5869 of his servants,5650 to put5414 a sword2719 in their hand3027 to slay

22 And Moses4872 returned7725 unto the Lord,3068 and said,559 Lord,136 wherefore hast thou so evil entreated7489 this people?5971 why is it that thou hast sent

23 For since I came935 to Pharaoh6547 to speak1696 in thy name,8034 he hath done evil7489 to this people;5971 neither hast thou delivered5337 thy people5971 at all.

6Then the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Now shalt thou see7200 what I will do6213 to Pharaoh:6547 for with a strong2389 hand3027 shall he let them go,7971 and with a strong2389 hand3027 shall he drive them out1644 of his land.

2 And God430 spake1696 unto Moses,4872 and said559 unto him, I am the Lord:

3C And I appeared7200 unto Abraham,85 unto Isaac,3327 and unto Jacob,3290 by the name of God410 Almighty,7706 but by my name8034 JEHOVAH3068 was I not known

4C And I have also established6965 my covenant1285 with them, to give5414 them the land776 of Canaan,3667 the land776 of their pilgrimage,4033 wherein they were strangers.

5C And I have also heard8085 the groaning5009 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 whom834 the Egyptians4714 keep in bondage;5647 and I have remembered2142 my covenant.

6 Wherefore3651 say559 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 I am the Lord,3068 and I will bring3318 you out from under the burdens5450 of the Egyptians,4714 and I will rid5337 you out of their bondage,5656 and I will redeem1350 you with a stretched5186 out arm,2220 and with great1419 judgments:

7 And I will take3947 you to me for a people,5971 and I will be to you a God:430 and ye shall know3045 that I am the Lord3068 your God,430 which bringeth3318 you out from under the burdens5450 of the Egyptians.

8 And I will bring935 you in unto the land,776 concerning the which I did swear53753027 to give5414 it to Abraham,85 to Isaac,3327 and to Jacob;3290 and I will give5414 it you for an heritage:4181 I am the Lord.

9 And Moses4872 spake1696 so unto the children1121 of Israel:3478 but they hearkened8085 not unto Moses4872 for anguish7115 of spirit,7307 and for cruel7186 bondage.

10 And the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses,4872 saying,

11 Go935 in, speak1696 unto Pharaoh6547 king4428 of Egypt,4714 that he let the children1121 of Israel3478 go out7971 of his land.

12 And Moses4872 spake1696 before6440 the Lord,3068 saying,559 Behold, the children1121 of Israel3478 have not hearkened8085 unto me; how then shall Pharaoh6547 hear8085 me,589 who am of uncircumcised6189 lips?

13C And the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses4872 and unto Aaron,175 and gave them a charge6680 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 and unto Pharaoh6547 king4428 of Egypt,4714 to bring3318 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of the land776 of Egypt.

14 These be the heads7218 of their fathers'1 houses:1004 The sons1121 of Reuben7205 the firstborn1060 of Israel;3478 Hanoch,2585 and Pallu,6396 Hezron,2696 and Carmi:3756 these be the families4940 of Reuben.

21 And the sons1121 of Izhar;3324 Korah,7141 and Nepheg,5298 and Zichri.

25 And Eleazar499 Aaron's175 son1121 took3947 him one of the daughters1323 of Putiel6317 to wife;802 and she bare3205 him Phinehas:6372 these are the heads7218 of the fathers1 of the Levites3881 according to their families.

26 These1931 are that Aaron175 and Moses,4872 to whom834 the Lord3068 said,559 Bring out3318 the children1121 of Israel3478 from the land776 of Egypt4714 according to their armies.

27 These1992 are they which spake1696 to Pharaoh6547 king4428 of Egypt,4714 to bring out3318 the children1121 of Israel3478 from Egypt:4714 these are that Moses4872 and Aaron.

28 And it came to pass on the day3117 when the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses4872 in the land776 of Egypt,

29 That the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses,4872 saying,559 I am the Lord:3068 speak1696 thou unto Pharaoh6547 king4428 of Egypt4714 all that I say

30 And Moses4872 said559 before6440 the Lord,3068 Behold, I am of uncircumcised6189 lips,8193 and how shall Pharaoh6547 hearken

7CAnd the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 See,7200 I have made5414 thee a god430 to Pharaoh:6547 and Aaron175 thy brother251 shall be thy prophet.

2 Thou shalt speak1696 all that I command6680 thee: and Aaron175 thy brother251 shall speak1696 unto Pharaoh,6547 that he send7971 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of his land.

3C And I will harden7185 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 and multiply7235 my signs226 and my wonders4159 in the land776 of Egypt.

4C But Pharaoh6547 shall not hearken8085 unto you, that I may lay5414 my hand3027 upon Egypt,4714 and bring forth3318 mine armies,6635 and my people5971 the children1121 of Israel,3478 out of the land776 of Egypt4714 by great1419 judgments.

5 And the Egyptians4714 shall know3045 that I am the Lord,3068 when I stretch forth5186 mine hand3027 upon Egypt,4714 and bring out3318 the children1121 of Israel3478 from among

6 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 did6213 as the Lord3068 commanded6680 them, so did

7C And Moses4872 was fourscore8084 years8141 old,1121 and Aaron175 fourscore8084 and three7969 years8141 old,1121 when they spake1696 unto Pharaoh.

8 And the Lord3068 spake559 unto Moses4872 and unto Aaron,175 saying,

9C When Pharaoh6547 shall speak1696 unto you, saying,559 Shew5414 a miracle4159 for you: then thou shalt say559 unto Aaron,175 Take3947 thy rod,4294 and cast7993 it before6440 Pharaoh,6547 and it shall become a serpent.

10C And Moses4872 and Aaron175 went in935 unto Pharaoh,6547 and they did6213 so as the Lord3068 had commanded:6680 and Aaron175 cast down7993 his rod4294 before6440 Pharaoh,6547 and before6440 his servants,5650 and it became a serpent.

11C Then Pharaoh6547 also called7121 the wise men2450 and the sorcerers:3784 now the magicians2748 of Egypt,4714 they also did6213 in like manner3651 with their enchantments.

12C For they cast down7993 every man376 his rod,4294 and they became serpents:8577 but Aaron's175 rod4294 swallowed up1104 their rods.

13C And he hardened2388 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 that he hearkened8085 not unto them; as the Lord3068 had said.

14C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Pharaoh's6547 heart3820 is hardened,3515 he refuseth3985 to let the people5971 go.

15 Get3212 thee unto Pharaoh6547 in the morning;1242 lo, he goeth out3318 unto the water;4325 and thou shalt stand5324 by the river's2975 brink8193 against he come;7125 and the rod4294 which was turned2015 to a serpent5175 shalt thou take3947 in thine hand.

16C And thou shalt say559 unto him, The Lord3068 God430 of the Hebrews5680 hath sent7971 me unto thee, saying,559 Let my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve5647 me in the wilderness:4057 and, behold, hitherto3541 thou wouldest not hear.

17 Thus saith559 the Lord,3068 In this thou shalt know3045 that I am the Lord:3068 behold, I will smite5221 with the rod4294 that is in mine hand3027 upon the waters4325 which are in the river,2975 and they shall be turned2015 to blood.

18 And the fish1710 that is in the river2975 shall die,4191 and the river2975 shall stink;887 and the Egyptians4714 shall lothe3811 to drink8354 of the water4325 of the river.

19 And the Lord3068 spake559 unto Moses,4872 Say559 unto Aaron,175 Take3947 thy rod,4294 and stretch out5186 thine hand3027 upon the waters4325 of Egypt,4714 upon their streams,5104 upon their rivers,2975 and upon their ponds,98 and upon all their pools4723 of water,4325 that they may become blood;1818 and that there may be blood1818 throughout all the land776 of Egypt,4714 both in vessels of wood,6086 and in vessels of stone.

20C And Moses4872 and Aaron175 did6213 so, as the Lord3068 commanded;6680 and he lifted up7311 the rod,4294 and smote5221 the waters4325 that were in the river,2975 in the sight5869 of Pharaoh,6547 and in the sight5869 of his servants;5650 and all the waters4325 that were in the river2975 were turned2015 to blood.

21 And the fish1710 that was in the river2975 died;4191 and the river2975 stank,887 and the Egyptians4714 could3201 not drink8354 of the water4325 of the river;2975 and there was blood1818 throughout all the land776 of Egypt.

22 And the magicians2748 of Egypt4714 did6213 so with their enchantments:3909 and Pharaoh's6547 heart3820 was hardened,2388 neither did he hearken8085 unto them; as the Lord3068 had said.

23 And Pharaoh6547 turned6437 and went935 into his house,1004 neither did he set7896 his heart3820 to this

24C And all the Egyptians4714 digged2658 round about5439 the river2975 for water4325 to drink;8354 for they could3201 not drink8354 of the water4325 of the river.

25 And seven7651 days3117 were fulfilled,4390 after310 that the Lord3068 had smitten5221 the river.

8And the Lord3068 spake559 unto Moses,4872 Go935 unto Pharaoh,6547 and say559 unto him, Thus saith559 the Lord,3068 Let my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve

2 And if thou refuse3986 to let them go,7971 behold, I will smite5062 all thy borders1366 with frogs:

3 And the river2975 shall bring forth8317 frogs6854 abundantly,8317 which shall go up5927 and come935 into thine house,1004 and into thy bedchamber,23154904 and upon thy bed,4296 and into the house1004 of thy servants,5650 and upon thy people,5971 and into thine ovens,8574 and into thy kneadingtroughs:

4 And the frogs6854 shall come up5927 both on thee, and upon thy people,5971 and upon all thy servants.

5C And the Lord3068 spake559 unto Moses,4872 Say559 unto Aaron,175 Stretch forth5186 thine hand3027 with thy rod4294 over the streams,5104 over the rivers,2975 and over the ponds,98 and cause frogs6854 to come up5927 upon the land776 of Egypt.

6 And Aaron175 stretched out5186 his hand3027 over the waters4325 of Egypt;4714 and the frogs6854 came up,5927 and covered3680 the land776 of Egypt.

7C And the magicians2748 did6213 so with their enchantments,3909 and brought up5927 frogs6854 upon the land776 of Egypt.

8C Then Pharaoh6547 called7121 for Moses4872 and Aaron,175 and said,559 Intreat6279 the Lord,3068 that he may take away5493 the frogs6854 from me, and from my people;5971 and I will let the people5971 go,7971 that they may do sacrifice2076 unto the Lord.

9 And Moses4872 said559 unto Pharaoh,6547 Glory6286 over me: when4970 shall I intreat6279 for thee, and for thy servants,5650 and for thy people,5971 to destroy3772 the frogs6854 from thee and thy houses,1004 that they may remain7604 in the river

10 And he said,559 To morrow.4279 And he said,559 Be it according to thy word:1697 that thou mayest know3045 that there is none like unto the Lord3068 our God.

11 And the frogs6854 shall depart5493 from thee, and from thy houses,1004 and from thy servants,5650 and from thy people;5971 they shall remain7604 in the river

12 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 went out3318 from Pharaoh:6547 and Moses4872 cried6817 unto the Lord3068 because of1697 the frogs6854 which he had brought7760 against Pharaoh.

13 And the Lord3068 did6213 according to the word1697 of Moses;4872 and the frogs6854 died4191 out of the houses,1004 out of the villages,2691 and out of the fields.

14 And they gathered them together6651 upon heaps:2563 and the land776 stank.

15 But when Pharaoh6547 saw7200 that there was respite,7309 he hardened3513 his heart,3820 and hearkened8085 not unto them; as the Lord3068 had said.

16C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Say559 unto Aaron,175 Stretch out5186 thy rod,4294 and smite5221 the dust6083 of the land,776 that it may become lice3654 throughout all the land776 of Egypt.

17C And they did6213 so; for Aaron175 stretched out5186 his hand3027 with his rod,4294 and smote5221 the dust6083 of the earth,776 and it became lice3654 in man,120 and in beast;929 all the dust6083 of the land776 became lice3654 throughout all the land776 of Egypt.

18C And the magicians2748 did6213 so with their enchantments3909 to bring forth3318 lice,3654 but they could3201 not: so there were lice3654 upon man,120 and upon beast.

19C Then the magicians2748 said559 unto Pharaoh,6547 This is the finger676 of God:430 and Pharaoh's6547 heart3820 was hardened,2388 and he hearkened8085 not unto them; as the Lord3068 had said.

20 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Rise up early7925 in the morning,1242 and stand3320 before6440 Pharaoh;6547 lo, he cometh forth3318 to the water;4325 and say559 unto him, Thus saith559 the Lord,3068 Let my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve

21C Else, if thou wilt not let my people5971 go,7971 behold, I will send7971 swarms6157 of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants,5650 and upon thy people,5971 and into thy houses:1004 and the houses1004 of the Egyptians4714 shall be full4390 of swarms6157 of flies, and also the ground

22 And I will sever6395 in that day3117 the land776 of Goshen,1657 in which my people5971 dwell,5975 that no1115 swarms6157 of flies shall be1961 there; to the end4616 thou mayest know3045 that I am the Lord3068 in the midst7130 of the earth.

23C And I will put7760 a division6304 between my people5971 and thy people:5971 to morrow4279 shall this sign

24 And the Lord3068 did6213 so; and there came935 a grievous3515 swarm6157 of flies into the house1004 of Pharaoh,6547 and into his servants'5650 houses,1004 and into all the land776 of Egypt:4714 the land776 was corrupted7843 by reason6440 of the swarm

25 And Pharaoh6547 called7121 for413 Moses4872 and for Aaron,175 and said,559 Go3212 ye, sacrifice2076 to your God430 in the land.

26 And Moses4872 said,559 It is not meet3559 so to do;6213 for2005 we shall sacrifice2076 the abomination8441 of the Egyptians4714 to the Lord3068 our God:430 lo, shall we sacrifice2076 the abomination8441 of the Egyptians4714 before their eyes,5869 and will they not stone

27C We will go3212 three7969 days'3117 journey1870 into the wilderness,4057 and sacrifice2076 to the Lord3068 our God,430 as he shall command

28 And Pharaoh6547 said,559 I will let you go,7971 that ye may sacrifice2076 to the Lord3068 your God430 in the wilderness;4057 only ye shall not go3212 very7368 far away:7368 intreat6279 for me.

29 And Moses4872 said,559 Behold, I go out3318 from thee, and I will intreat6279 the Lord3068 that the swarms6157 of flies may depart5493 from Pharaoh,6547 from his servants,5650 and from his people,5971 to morrow:4279 but7535 let not Pharaoh6547 deal deceitfully2048 any more3254 in not1115 letting the people5971 go7971 to sacrifice2076 to the Lord.

30 And Moses4872 went out3318 from Pharaoh,6547 and intreated6279 the Lord.

31 And the Lord3068 did6213 according to the word1697 of Moses;4872 and he removed5493 the swarms6157 of flies from Pharaoh,6547 from his servants,5650 and from his people;5971 there remained7604 not one.

32 And Pharaoh6547 hardened3513 his heart3820 at this time6471 also, neither would he let the people5971 go.

9Then the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Go935 in unto Pharaoh,6547 and tell1696 him, Thus saith559 the Lord3068 God430 of the Hebrews,5680 Let my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve

2 For if thou refuse3986 to let them go,7971 and wilt hold

3C Behold, the hand3027 of the Lord3068 is1961 upon thy cattle4735 which is in the field,7704 upon the horses,5483 upon the asses,2543 upon the camels,1581 upon the oxen,1241 and upon the sheep:6629 there shall be a very3966 grievous3515 murrain.

4 And the Lord3068 shall sever6395 between the cattle4735 of Israel3478 and the cattle4735 of Egypt:4714 and there shall nothing1697 die4191 of all that is the children's1121 of Israel.

5 And the Lord3068 appointed7760 a set time,4150 saying,559 To morrow4279 the Lord3068 shall do6213 this thing1697 in the land.

6 And the Lord3068 did6213 that thing1697 on the morrow,4283 and all the cattle4735 of Egypt4714 died:4191 but of the cattle4735 of the children1121 of Israel3478 died4191 not one.

7 And Pharaoh6547 sent,7971 and, behold, there was not one259 of the cattle4735 of the Israelites3478 dead.4191 And the heart3820 of Pharaoh6547 was hardened,3513 and he did not let the people5971 go.

8C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses4872 and unto Aaron,175 Take3947 to you handfuls26514393 of ashes6368 of the furnace,3536 and let Moses4872 sprinkle2236 it toward the heaven8064 in the sight5869 of Pharaoh.

9C And it shall become small dust80 in all the land776 of Egypt,4714 and shall be a boil7822 breaking forth6524 with blains76 upon man,120 and upon beast,929 throughout all the land776 of Egypt.

10 And they took3947 ashes6368 of the furnace,3536 and stood5975 before6440 Pharaoh;6547 and Moses4872 sprinkled2236 it up toward heaven;8064 and it became a boil7822 breaking forth6524 with blains76 upon man,120 and upon beast.

11 And the magicians2748 could3201 not stand5975 before6440 Moses4872 because6440 of the boils;7822 for the boil7822 was upon the magicians,2748 and upon all the Egyptians.

12 And the Lord3068 hardened2388 the heart3820 of Pharaoh,6547 and he hearkened8085 not unto them; as the Lord3068 had spoken1696 unto Moses.

13 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Rise up early7925 in the morning,1242 and stand3320 before6440 Pharaoh,6547 and say559 unto him, Thus saith559 the Lord3068 God430 of the Hebrews,5680 Let my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve

14C For I will at this time6471 send7971 all my plagues4046 upon thine heart,3820 and upon thy servants,5650 and upon thy people;5971 that thou mayest know3045 that there is none like me in all the earth.

15 For now I will stretch out7971 my hand,3027 that I may smite5221 thee and thy people5971 with pestilence;1698 and thou shalt be cut off3582 from the earth.

16C And in very199 deed5668 for this cause have I raised thee up,5975 for to shew7200 in thee my power;3581 and that my name8034 may be declared5608 throughout all the earth.

17 As yet exaltest5549 thou thyself against my people,5971 that thou wilt not let them go?

18C Behold, to morrow4279 about this time6256 I will cause it to rain4305 a very3966 grievous3515 hail,1259 such as hath not been3644 in Egypt4714 since4480 the foundation3117

19 Send7971 therefore now, and gather5756 thy cattle,4735 and all that thou hast in the field;7704 for upon every man120 and beast929 which shall be found4672 in the field,7704 and shall not be brought622 home,1004 the hail1259 shall come down3381 upon them, and they shall die.

20 He that feared3373 the word1697 of the Lord3068 among the servants5650 of Pharaoh6547 made his servants5650 and his cattle4735 flee5127 into the houses:

21 And he that regarded77603820 not the word1697 of the Lord3068 left5800 his servants5650 and his cattle4735 in the field.

22 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Stretch forth5186 thine hand3027 toward heaven,8064 that there may be hail1259 in all the land776 of Egypt,4714 upon man,120 and upon beast,929 and upon every herb6212 of the field,7704 throughout the land776 of Egypt.

23C And Moses4872 stretched forth5186 his rod4294 toward heaven:8064 and the Lord3068 sent5414 thunder6963 and hail,1259 and the fire784 ran along1980 upon the ground;776 and the Lord3068 rained4305 hail1259 upon the land776 of Egypt.

24 So there was hail,1259 and fire7843947 mingled8432 with the hail,1259 very3966 grievous,3515 such as there was none3808 like it in all the land776 of Egypt4714 since it became a nation.

25 And the hail1259 smote5221 throughout all the land776 of Egypt4714 all that was in the field,7704 both man120 and beast;929 and the hail1259 smote5221 every herb6212 of the field,7704 and brake7665 every tree6086 of the field.

26C Only in the land776 of Goshen,1657 where the children1121 of Israel3478 were, was there no hail.

27 And Pharaoh6547 sent,7971 and called7121 for Moses4872 and Aaron,175 and said559 unto them, I have sinned2398 this time:6471 the Lord3068 is righteous,6662 and I and my people5971 are wicked.

28 Intreat6279 the Lord3068 (for it is enough)7227 that there be no more mighty430 thunderings6963 and hail;1259 and I will let you go,7971 and ye shall stay5975 no longer.

29 And Moses4872 said559 unto him, As soon as I am gone out3318 of the city,5892 I will spread abroad6566 my hands3709 unto the Lord;3068 and the thunder6963 shall cease,2308 neither shall there be any more hail;1259 that thou mayest know3045 how that the earth776 is the Lord’s.

30 But as for thee and thy servants,5650 I know3045 that ye will not yet fear33726440 the Lord3068 God.

31 And the flax6594 and the barley8184 was smitten:5221 for the barley8184 was in the ear,24 and the flax6594 was bolled.

32 But the wheat2406 and the rie3698 were not smitten:5221 for they2007 were not grown up.

33 And Moses4872 went out3318 of the city5892 from Pharaoh,6547 and spread abroad6566 his hands3709 unto the Lord:3068 and the thunders6963 and hail1259 ceased,2308 and the rain4306 was not poured5413 upon the earth.

34 And when Pharaoh6547 saw7200 that the rain4306 and the hail1259 and the thunders6963 were ceased,2308 he sinned2398 yet more,3254 and hardened3513 his heart,3820 he and his servants.

35 And the heart3820 of Pharaoh6547 was hardened,2388 neither would he let the children1121 of Israel3478 go;7971 as the Lord3068 had spoken1696 by3027 Moses.

10And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Go935 in unto Pharaoh:6547 for I have hardened3513 his heart,3820 and the heart3820 of his servants,5650 that I might shew7896 these my signs226 before

2 And that thou mayest tell5608 in the ears241 of thy son,1121 and of thy son's1121 son,1121 what things I have wrought5953 in Egypt,4714 and my signs226 which I have done7760 among them; that ye may know3045 how that I am the Lord.

3 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 came in935 unto Pharaoh,6547 and said559 unto him, Thus saith559 the Lord3068 God430 of the Hebrews,5680 How long4970 wilt thou refuse3985 to humble6031 thyself before6440 me? let my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve

4C Else,3588 if thou refuse3986 to let my people5971 go,7971 behold, to morrow4279 will I bring935 the locusts697 into thy coast:

5 And they shall cover3680 the face5869 of the earth,776 that one cannot be able3201 to see7200 the earth:776 and they shall eat398 the residue3499 of that which is escaped,6413 which remaineth7604 unto you from the hail,1259 and shall eat398 every tree6086 which groweth6779 for you out of the field:

6 And they shall fill4390 thy houses,1004 and the houses1004 of all thy servants,5650 and the houses1004 of all the Egyptians;4714 which neither thy fathers,1 nor thy fathers'1 fathers1 have seen,7200 since the day3117 that they were upon the earth127 unto this day.3117 And he turned6437 himself, and went out3318 from Pharaoh.

7 And Pharaoh's6547 servants5650 said559 unto him, How long shall this man be a snare4170 unto us? let the men582 go,7971 that they may serve5647 the Lord3068 their God:430 knowest3045 thou not yet2962 that Egypt4714 is destroyed?

8 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 were brought again7725 unto Pharaoh:6547 and he said559 unto them, Go,3212 serve5647 the Lord3068 your God:430 but who are they that shall go?

9 And Moses4872 said,559 We will go3212 with our young5288 and with our old,2205 with our sons1121 and with our daughters,1323 with our flocks6629 and with our herds1241 will we go;3212 for we must hold a feast2282 unto the Lord.

10 And he said559 unto them, Let the Lord3068 be so with you, as I will let you go,7971 and your little ones:2945 look7200 to it; for evil7451 is before

11 Not so: go3212 now ye that are men,1397 and serve5647 the Lord;3068 for that ye did desire.1245 And they were driven out1644 from Pharaoh's6547 presence.

12 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Stretch out5186 thine hand3027 over the land776 of Egypt4714 for the locusts,697 that they may come up5927 upon the land776 of Egypt,4714 and eat398 every herb6212 of the land,776 even all that the hail1259 hath left.

13 And Moses4872 stretched forth5186 his rod4294 over the land776 of Egypt,4714 and the Lord3068 brought5090 an east6921 wind7307 upon the land776 all that day,3117 and all that night;3915 and when it was morning,1242 the east6921 wind7307 brought5375 the locusts.

14 And the locusts697 went up5927 over all the land776 of Egypt,4714 and rested5117 in all the coasts1366 of Egypt:4714 very3966 grievous3515 were they; before6440 them there were no such3651 locusts697 as they, neither after

15 For they covered3680 the face5869 of the whole earth,776 so that the land776 was darkened;2821 and they did eat398 every herb6212 of the land,776 and all the fruit6529 of the trees6086 which the hail1259 had left:3498 and there remained3498 not any green thing3418 in the trees,6086 or in the herbs6212 of the field,7704 through all the land776 of Egypt.

16 Then Pharaoh6547 called7121 for Moses4872 and Aaron175 in haste;4116 and he said,559 I have sinned2398 against the Lord3068 your God,

17 Now therefore forgive,5375 I pray thee, my sin2403 only this once,6471 and intreat6279 the Lord3068 your God,430 that he may take away5493 from me this death

18 And he went out3318 from Pharaoh,6547 and intreated6279 the Lord.

19 And the Lord3068 turned2015 a mighty3966 strong2389 west3220 wind,7307 which took away5375 the locusts,697 and cast8628 them into the Red5488 sea;3220 there remained7604 not one259 locust697 in all the coasts1366 of Egypt.

20 But the Lord3068 hardened2388 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 so that he would not let the children1121 of Israel3478 go.

21C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Stretch out5186 thine hand3027 toward heaven,8064 that there may be darkness2822 over the land776 of Egypt,4714 even darkness2822 which may be felt.

22 And Moses4872 stretched forth5186 his hand3027 toward heaven;8064 and there was a thick653 darkness2822 in all the land776 of Egypt4714 three7969 days:

23 They saw7200 not one376 another,251 neither rose6965 any376 from his place for three7969 days:3117 but all the children1121 of Israel3478 had light216 in their dwellings.

24 And Pharaoh6547 called7121 unto Moses,4872 and said,559 Go3212 ye, serve5647 the Lord;3068 only let your flocks6629 and your herds1241 be stayed:3322 let your little ones2945 also go

25 And Moses4872 said,559 Thou must give5414 us3027 also sacrifices2077 and burnt offerings,5930 that we may sacrifice6213 unto the Lord3068 our God.

26 Our cattle4735 also shall go3212 with us; there shall not an hoof6541 be left behind;7604 for thereof must we take3947 to serve5647 the Lord3068 our God;430 and we know3045 not with what we must serve5647 the Lord,3068 until we come

27 But the Lord3068 hardened2388 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 and he would14 not let them go.

28 And Pharaoh6547 said559 unto him, Get3212 thee from me, take heed8104 to thyself, see7200 my face6440 no more;3254 for in that day3117 thou seest7200 my face6440 thou shalt die.

29 And Moses4872 said,559 Thou hast spoken1696 well,3651 I will see7200 thy face6440 again

11CAnd the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Yet will I bring935 one259 plague5061 more upon Pharaoh,6547 and upon Egypt;4714 afterwards310 he will let you go7971 hence: when he shall let you go,7971 he shall surely1644 thrust you out1644 hence altogether.

2C Speak1696 now in the ears241 of the people,5971 and let every man376 borrow7592 of his neighbour,7453 and every woman802 of her neighbour,7468 jewels3627 of silver,3701 and jewels3627 of gold.

3 And the Lord3068 gave5414 the people5971 favour2580 in the sight5869 of the Egyptians.4714 Moreover the man376 Moses4872 was very3966 great1419 in the land776 of Egypt,4714 in the sight5869 of Pharaoh's6547 servants,5650 and in the sight5869 of the people.

4C And Moses4872 said,559 Thus saith559 the Lord,3068 About midnight39152676 will I go out3318 into the midst8432 of Egypt:

5C And all the firstborn1060 in the land776 of Egypt4714 shall die,4191 from the firstborn1060 of Pharaoh6547 that sitteth3427 upon his throne,3678 even unto the firstborn1060 of the maidservant8198 that is behind310 the mill;7347 and all the firstborn1060 of beasts.

6C And there shall be1961 a great1419 cry6818 throughout all the land776 of Egypt,4714 such as there was none3808 like it, nor3808 shall be like it any more.

7 But against any of the children1121 of Israel3478 shall not a dog3611 move2782 his tongue,3956 against man376 or beast:929 that ye may know3045 how that the Lord3068 doth put a difference6395 between the Egyptians4714 and Israel.

8 And all these thy servants5650 shall come down3381 unto me, and bow down7812 themselves unto me, saying,559 Get thee out,3318 and all the people5971 that follow7272 thee: and after310 that I will go out.3318 And he went out3318 from Pharaoh6547 in a great2750 anger.

9 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Pharaoh6547 shall not hearken8085 unto you; that my wonders4159 may be multiplied7235 in the land776 of Egypt.

10C And Moses4872 and Aaron175 did6213 all these wonders4159 before6440 Pharaoh:6547 and the Lord3068 hardened2388 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 so that he would not let the children1121 of Israel3478 go out7971 of his land.

12CAnd the Lord3068 spake559 unto Moses4872 and Aaron175 in the land776 of Egypt,4714 saying,

2C This month2320 shall be unto you the beginning7218 of months:2320 it shall be the first7223 month2320 of the year

3C Speak1696 ye unto all the congregation5712 of Israel,3478 saying,559 In the tenth6218 day of this month2320 they shall take3947 to them every man376 a lamb,7716 according to the house1004 of their fathers,1 a lamb7716 for an house:

4 And if the household1004 be1961 too little4591 for the lamb,7716 let him and his neighbour7934 next7138 unto his house1004 take3947 it according to the number4373 of the souls;5315 every man376 according6310 to his eating400 shall make your count3699 for the lamb.

5C Your lamb7716 shall be without blemish,8549 a male2145 of the first1121 year:8141 ye shall take3947 it out from the sheep,3532 or from the goats:

6C And ye shall keep4931 it up until the fourteenth7026240 day3117 of the same month:2320 and the whole3605 assembly6951 of the congregation5712 of Israel3478 shall kill7819 it in996 the evening.

7C And they shall take3947 of the blood,1818 and strike5414 it on the two8147 side posts4201 and on the upper door post4947 of the houses,1004 wherein they shall eat

8C And they shall eat398 the flesh1320 in that night,3915 roast6748 with fire,784 and unleavened bread;4682 and with bitter4844 herbs they shall eat

9 Eat398 not of it raw,4995 nor sodden13101311 at all with water,4325 but roast6748 with fire;784 his head7218 with his legs,3767 and with the purtenance

10C And ye shall let nothing of it remain3498 until the morning;1242 and that which remaineth3498 of it until the morning1242 ye shall burn8313 with fire.

11C And thus3602 shall ye eat398 it; with your loins4975 girded,2296 your shoes5275 on your feet,7272 and your staff4731 in your hand;3027 and ye shall eat398 it in haste:2649 it is the Lord’s3068 passover.

12C For I will pass5674 through the land776 of Egypt4714 this night,3915 and will smite5221 all the firstborn1060 in the land776 of Egypt,4714 both man120 and beast;929 and against all the gods430 of Egypt4714 I will execute6213 judgment:8201 I am the Lord.

13C And the blood1818 shall be to you for a token226 upon the houses1004 where ye are: and when I see7200 the blood,1818 I will pass6452 over you, and the plague5063 shall not be upon you to destroy4889 you, when I smite5221 the land776 of Egypt.

14C And this day3117 shall be unto you for a memorial;2146 and ye shall keep2287 it a feast2282 to the Lord3068 throughout your generations;1755 ye shall keep it a feast2287 by an ordinance2708 for ever.

15C Seven7651 days3117 shall ye eat398 unleavened bread;4682 even389 the first7223 day3117 ye shall put away7673 leaven7603 out of your houses:1004 for whosoever eateth398 leavened bread2557 from the first7223 day3117 until the seventh7637 day,3117 that soul5315 shall be cut3772 off from Israel.

16C And in the first7223 day3117 there shall be an holy6944 convocation,4744 and in the seventh7637 day3117 there shall be an holy6944 convocation4744 to you; no manner of work4399 shall be done6213 in them, save389 that which every man5315 must eat,398 that only may be done

17C And ye shall observe8104 the feast of unleavened bread;4682 for in this selfsame6106 day3117 have I brought3318 your armies6635 out of the land776 of Egypt:4714 therefore shall ye observe8104 this day3117 in your generations1755 by an ordinance2708 for ever.

18C In the first7223 month, on the fourteenth6240702 day3117 of the month2320 at even,6153 ye shall eat398 unleavened bread,4682 until the one259 and twentieth6242 day3117 of the month2320 at even.

19C Seven7651 days3117 shall there be no leaven7603 found4672 in your houses:1004 for whosoever eateth398 that which is leavened,2556 even that soul5315 shall be cut off3772 from the congregation5712 of Israel,3478 whether he be a stranger,1616 or born249 in the land.

20 Ye shall eat398 nothing leavened;2556 in all your habitations4186 shall ye eat398 unleavened bread.

21 Then Moses4872 called7121 for all the elders2205 of Israel,3478 and said559 unto them, Draw out4900 and take3947 you a lamb6629 according to your families,4940 and kill7819 the passover.

22C And ye shall take3947 a bunch92 of hyssop,231 and dip2881 it in the blood1818 that is in the bason,5592 and strike5060 the lintel4947 and the two8147 side posts4201 with the blood1818 that is in the bason;5592 and none376 of you shall go out3318 at the door6607 of his house1004 until the morning.

23C For the Lord3068 will pass through5674 to smite5062 the Egyptians;4714 and when he seeth7200 the blood1818 upon the lintel,4947 and on the two8147 side posts,4201 the Lord3068 will pass over6452 the door,6607 and will not suffer5414 the destroyer7843 to come935 in unto your houses1004 to smite

24 And ye shall observe8104 this thing1697 for an ordinance2706 to thee and to thy sons1121 for5704 ever.

25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come935 to the land776 which the Lord3068 will give5414 you, according as he hath promised,1696 that ye shall keep8104 this service.

26 And it shall come to pass, when your children1121 shall say559 unto you, What mean ye by this service?

27C That ye shall say,559 It is the sacrifice2077 of the Lord’s3068 passover,6453 who passed6452 over the houses1004 of the children1121 of Israel3478 in Egypt,4714 when he smote5062 the Egyptians,4714 and delivered5337 our houses.1004 And the people5971 bowed the head6915 and worshipped.

28 And the children1121 of Israel3478 went away,3212 and did6213 as the Lord3068 had commanded6680 Moses4872 and Aaron,175 so did

29C And it came to pass, that at midnight26773915 the Lord3068 smote5221 all the firstborn1060 in the land776 of Egypt,4714 from the firstborn1060 of Pharaoh6547 that sat3427 on his throne3678 unto the firstborn1060 of the captive7628 that was in the dungeon;1004953 and all the firstborn1060 of cattle.

30C And Pharaoh6547 rose up6965 in the night,3915 he, and all his servants,5650 and all the Egyptians;4714 and there was a great1419 cry6818 in Egypt;4714 for there was not a house1004 where there was not one dead.

31C And he called7121 for Moses4872 and Aaron175 by night,3915 and said,559 Rise up,6965 and get you forth3318 from among8432 my people,5971 both ye and the children1121 of Israel;3478 and go,3212 serve5647 the Lord,3068 as ye have said.

32C Also take3947 your flocks6629 and your herds,1241 as ye have said,1696 and be gone;3212 and bless

33 And the Egyptians4714 were urgent2388 upon the people,5971 that they might send7971 them out of the land776 in haste;4116 for they said,559 We be all dead

34 And the people5971 took5375 their dough1217 before it was leavened,2556 their kneadingtroughs4863 being bound up6887 in their clothes8071 upon their shoulders.

35C And the children1121 of Israel3478 did6213 according to the word1697 of Moses;4872 and they borrowed7592 of the Egyptians4714 jewels3627 of silver,3701 and jewels3627 of gold,2091 and raiment:

36C And the Lord3068 gave5414 the people5971 favour2580 in the sight5869 of the Egyptians,4714 so that they lent7592 unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled5337 the Egyptians.

37C And the children1121 of Israel3478 journeyed5265 from Rameses7486 to Succoth,5523 about six8337 hundred3967 thousand505 on foot7273 that were men,1397 beside905 children.

38 And a mixed6154 multitude7227 went up5927 also with them; and flocks,6629 and herds,1241 even very3966 much3515 cattle.

39 And they baked644 unleavened4682 cakes5692 of the dough1217 which they brought forth3318 out of Egypt,4714 for it was not leavened;2556 because they were thrust out1644 of Egypt,4714 and could3201 not tarry,4102 neither had they prepared6213 for themselves any victual.

40C Now the sojourning4186 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 who dwelt3427 in Egypt,4714 was four702 hundred39678141 and thirty7970 years.

41C And it came to pass at the end7093 of the four702 hundred39678141 and thirty7970 years,8141 even the selfsame6106 day3117 it came to pass, that all the hosts6635 of the Lord3068 went out3318 from the land776 of Egypt.

42 It is a night3915 to be much observed8107 unto the Lord3068 for bringing3318 them out from the land776 of Egypt:4714 this is that night3915 of the Lord3068 to be observed8107 of all the children1121 of Israel3478 in their generations.

43C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses4872 and Aaron,175 This is the ordinance2708 of the passover:6453 There shall no stranger11215236 eat

44C But every man's376 servant5650 that is bought4736 for money,3701 when thou hast circumcised4135 him, then shall he eat

45 A foreigner8453 and an hired servant7916 shall not eat

46C In one259 house1004 shall it be eaten;398 thou shalt not carry forth3318 ought of the flesh1320 abroad2351 out of the house;1004 neither shall ye break7665 a bone

47 All the congregation5712 of Israel3478 shall keep

48 And when a stranger1616 shall sojourn1481 with thee, and will keep6213 the passover6453 to the Lord,3068 let all his males2145 be circumcised,4135 and then let him come near7126 and keep6213 it; and he shall be as one that is born249 in the land:776 for no uncircumcised person6189 shall eat

49C One259 law8451 shall be to him that is homeborn,249 and unto the stranger1616 that sojourneth1481 among

50 Thus did6213 all the children1121 of Israel;3478 as the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses4872 and Aaron,175 so did

51 And it came to pass the selfsame6106 day,3117 that the Lord3068 did bring3318 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of the land776 of Egypt4714 by their armies.

13And the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses,4872 saying,

2C Sanctify6942 unto me all the firstborn,1060 whatsoever openeth6363 the womb7358 among the children1121 of Israel,3478 both of man120 and of beast:

3 And Moses4872 said559 unto the people,5971 Remember2142 this2088 day,3117 in which ye came out3318 from Egypt,4714 out of the house1004 of bondage;5650 for by strength2392 of hand3027 the Lord3068 brought you out3318 from this place: there shall no leavened bread2557 be eaten.

4 This day3117 came ye out3318 in the month2320 Abib.

5 And it shall be when the Lord3068 shall bring935 thee into the land776 of the Canaanites,3669 and the Hittites,2850 and the Amorites,567 and the Hivites,2340 and the Jebusites,2983 which he sware7650 unto thy fathers1 to give5414 thee, a land776 flowing2100 with milk2461 and honey,1706 that thou shalt keep5647 this service5656 in this month.

6 Seven7651 days3117 thou shalt eat398 unleavened bread,4682 and in the seventh7637 day3117 shall be a feast2282 to the Lord.

7C Unleavened bread4682 shall be eaten398 seven7651 days;3117 and there shall no leavened bread2557 be seen7200 with thee, neither shall there be leaven7603 seen7200 with thee in all thy quarters.

8 And thou shalt shew5046 thy son1121 in that day,3117 saying,559 This is done because of5668 that2088 which the Lord3068 did6213 unto me when I came forth3318 out of Egypt.

9 And it shall be for a sign226 unto thee upon thine hand,3027 and for a memorial2146 between thine eyes,5869 that the Lord’s3068 law8451 may be in thy mouth:6310 for with a strong2389 hand3027 hath the Lord3068 brought thee out3318 of Egypt.

10C Thou shalt therefore keep8104 this ordinance2708 in his season4150 from year3117 to year.

11 And it shall be when the Lord3068 shall bring935 thee into the land776 of the Canaanites,3669 as he sware7650 unto thee and to thy fathers,1 and shall give

12C That thou shalt set apart5674 unto the Lord3068 all that openeth6363 the matrix,7358 and every firstling6363 that cometh7698 of a beast929 which thou hast; the males2145 shall be the Lord’s.

13 And every firstling6363 of an ass2543 thou shalt redeem6299 with a lamb;7716 and if thou wilt not redeem6299 it, then thou shalt break his neck:6202 and all the firstborn1060 of man120 among thy children1121 shalt thou redeem.

14 And it shall be when thy son1121 asketh7592 thee in time to come,4279 saying,559 What is this? that thou shalt say559 unto him, By strength2392 of hand3027 the Lord3068 brought us out3318 from Egypt,4714 from the house1004 of bondage:

15C And it came to pass, when Pharaoh6547 would hardly7185 let us go,7971 that the Lord3068 slew2026 all the firstborn1060 in the land776 of Egypt,4714 both the firstborn1060 of man,120 and the firstborn1060 of beast:929 therefore I sacrifice2076 to the Lord3068 all that openeth6363 the matrix,7358 being males;2145 but all the firstborn1060 of my children1121 I redeem.

16C And it shall be for a token226 upon thine hand,3027 and for frontlets2903 between thine eyes:5869 for by strength2392 of hand3027 the Lord3068 brought us forth3318 out of Egypt.

17 And it came to pass, when Pharaoh6547 had let the people5971 go,7971 that God430 led5148 them not through the way1870 of the land776 of the Philistines,6430 although3588 that was near;7138 for God430 said,559 Lest peradventure the people5971 repent5162 when they see7200 war,4421 and they return7725 to Egypt:

18C But God430 led5437 the people5971 about,5437 through the way1870 of the wilderness4057 of the Red5488 sea:3220 and the children1121 of Israel3478 went up5927 harnessed2571 out of the land776 of Egypt.

19C And Moses4872 took3947 the bones6106 of Joseph3130 with him: for he had straitly7650 sworn7650 the children1121 of Israel,3478 saying,559 God430 will surely6485 visit6485 you; and ye shall carry up5927 my bones6106 away

20 And they took their journey5265 from Succoth,5523 and encamped2583 in Etham,864 in the edge7097 of the wilderness.

21C And the Lord3068 went1980 before6440 them by day3119 in a pillar5982 of a cloud,6051 to lead5148 them the way;1870 and by night3915 in a pillar5982 of fire,784 to give them light;215 to go3212 by day3119 and night:

22 He took not away4185 the pillar5982 of the cloud6051 by day,3119 nor the pillar5982 of fire784 by night,3915 from before6440 the people.

14And the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses,4872 saying,

2C Speak1696 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 that they turn7725 and encamp2583 before6440 Pihahiroth,6367 between Migdol4024 and the sea,3220 over against6440 Baalzephon:1189 before5226 it shall ye encamp2583 by the sea.

3C For Pharaoh6547 will say559 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 They are entangled943 in the land,776 the wilderness4057 hath shut them in.

4C And I will harden2388 Pharaoh's6547 heart,3820 that he shall follow7291 after310 them; and I will be honoured3513 upon Pharaoh,6547 and upon all his host;2428 that the Egyptians4714 may know3045 that I am the Lord.3068 And they did

5 And it was told5046 the king4428 of Egypt4714 that the people5971 fled:1272 and the heart3824 of Pharaoh6547 and of his servants5650 was turned2015 against the people,5971 and they said,559 Why have we done6213 this, that we have let Israel3478 go7971 from serving

6 And he made ready631 his chariot,7393 and took3947 his people

7 And he took3947 six8337 hundred3967 chosen977 chariots,7393 and all the chariots7393 of Egypt,4714 and captains

8C And the Lord3068 hardened2388 the heart3820 of Pharaoh6547 king4428 of Egypt,4714 and he pursued7291 after310 the children1121 of Israel:3478 and the children1121 of Israel3478 went out3318 with an high7311 hand.

9C But the Egyptians4714 pursued7291 after310 them, all the horses5483 and chariots7393 of Pharaoh,6547 and his horsemen,6571 and his army,2428 and overtook5381 them encamping2583 by the sea,3220 beside Pihahiroth,6367 before6440 Baalzephon.

10 And when Pharaoh6547 drew nigh,7126 the children1121 of Israel3478 lifted up5375 their eyes,5869 and, behold, the Egyptians4714 marched5265 after310 them; and they were sore3966 afraid:3372 and the children1121 of Israel3478 cried out6817 unto the Lord.

11 And they said559 unto Moses,4872 Because there were no graves6913 in Egypt,4714 hast thou taken us away3947 to die4191 in the wilderness?4057 wherefore2063 hast thou dealt6213 thus with us, to carry us forth3318 out of Egypt?

12 Is not this the word1697 that we did tell1696 thee in Egypt,4714 saying,559 Let us alone,2308 that we may serve5647 the Egyptians?4714 For it had been better2896 for us to serve5647 the Egyptians,4714 than that we should die4191 in the wilderness.

13C And Moses4872 said559 unto the people,5971 Fear3372 ye not, stand still,3320 and see7200 the salvation3444 of the Lord,3068 which he will shew6213 to you to day:3117 for the Egyptians4714 whom ye have seen7200 to day,3117 ye shall see7200 them again3254 no more for5704 ever.

14 The Lord3068 shall fight3898 for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

15C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Wherefore criest6817 thou unto me? speak1696 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 that they go forward:

16C But lift thou up7311 thy rod,4294 and stretch out5186 thine hand3027 over the sea,3220 and divide1234 it: and the children1121 of Israel3478 shall go935 on dry3004 ground through the midst8432 of the sea.

17 And I, behold, I will harden2388 the hearts3820 of the Egyptians,4714 and they shall follow935 them:310 and I will get me honour3513 upon Pharaoh,6547 and upon all his host,2428 upon his chariots,7393 and upon his horsemen.

18 And the Egyptians4714 shall know3045 that I am the Lord,3068 when I have gotten me honour3513 upon Pharaoh,6547 upon his chariots,7393 and upon his horsemen.

19C And the angel4397 of God,430 which went1980 before6440 the camp4264 of Israel,3478 removed5265 and went3212 behind310 them; and the pillar5982 of the cloud6051 went5265 from before their face,6440 and stood5975 behind

20C And it came935 between the camp4264 of the Egyptians4714 and the camp4264 of Israel;3478 and it was a cloud6051 and darkness2822 to them, but it gave light215 by night3915 to these: so that the one came not near7126 the other2088 all the night.

21 And Moses4872 stretched out5186 his hand3027 over the sea;3220 and the Lord3068 caused the sea3220 to go3212 back by a strong5794 east6921 wind7307 all that night,3915 and made7760 the sea3220 dry2724 land, and the waters4325 were divided.

22C And the children1121 of Israel3478 went935 into the midst8432 of the sea3220 upon the dry3004 ground: and the waters4325 were a wall2346 unto them on their right hand,3225 and on their left.

23 And the Egyptians4714 pursued,7291 and went in935 after310 them to the midst8432 of the sea,3220 even all Pharaoh's6547 horses,5483 his chariots,7393 and his horsemen.

24C And it came to pass, that in the morning1242 watch821 the Lord3068 looked8259 unto the host4264 of the Egyptians4714 through the pillar5982 of fire784 and of the cloud,6051 and troubled2000 the host4264 of the Egyptians,

25 And took off5493 their chariot4818 wheels,212 that they drave5090 them heavily:3517 so that the Egyptians4714 said,559 Let us flee5127 from the face6440 of Israel;3478 for the Lord3068 fighteth3898 for them against the Egyptians.

26 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Stretch out5186 thine hand3027 over the sea,3220 that the waters4325 may come again7725 upon the Egyptians,4714 upon their chariots,7393 and upon their horsemen.

27C And Moses4872 stretched forth5186 his hand3027 over the sea,3220 and the sea3220 returned7725 to his strength386 when the morning1242 appeared;6437 and the Egyptians4714 fled5127 against7125 it; and the Lord3068 overthrew5287 the Egyptians4714 in the midst8432 of the sea.

28C And the waters4325 returned,7725 and covered3680 the chariots,7393 and the horsemen,6571 and all the host2428 of Pharaoh6547 that came935 into the sea3220 after310 them; there remained7604 not so much as5704 one

29C But the children1121 of Israel3478 walked1980 upon dry3004 land in the midst8432 of the sea;3220 and the waters4325 were a wall2346 unto them on their right hand,3225 and on their left.

30C Thus the Lord3068 saved3467 Israel3478 that day3117 out of the hand3027 of the Egyptians;4714 and Israel3478 saw7200 the Egyptians4714 dead4191 upon the sea3220 shore.

31 And Israel3478 saw7200 that great1419 work3027 which the Lord3068 did6213 upon the Egyptians:4714 and the people5971 feared3372 the Lord,3068 and believed539 the Lord,3068 and his servant5650 Moses.

15CThen sang7891 Moses4872 and the children1121 of Israel3478 this song7892 unto the Lord,3068 and spake,559 saying,559 I will sing7891 unto the Lord,3068 for he hath triumphed1342 gloriously:1342 the horse5483 and his rider7392 hath he thrown7411 into the sea.

2C The Lord3050 is my strength5797 and song,2176 and he is become my salvation:3444 he2088 is my God,410 and I will prepare him an habitation;5115 my father's1 God,430 and I will exalt

3C The Lord3068 is a man376 of war:4421 the Lord3068 is his name.

4 Pharaoh's6547 chariots4818 and his host2428 hath he cast3384 into the sea:3220 his chosen4005 captains7991 also are drowned2883 in the Red5488 sea.

5 The depths8415 have covered3680 them: they sank3381 into the bottom4688 as3644 a stone.

6 Thy right hand,3225 O Lord,3068 is become glorious142 in power:3581 thy right hand,3225 O Lord,3068 hath dashed in pieces7492 the enemy.

7 And in the greatness7230 of thine excellency1347 thou hast overthrown2040 them that rose up against6965 thee: thou sentest forth7971 thy wrath,2740 which consumed398 them as stubble.

8C And with the blast7307 of thy nostrils639 the waters4325 were gathered together,6192 the floods5140 stood upright5324 as an heap,5067 and the depths8415 were congealed7087 in the heart3820 of the sea.

9 The enemy341 said,559 I will pursue,7291 I will overtake,5381 I will divide2505 the spoil;7998 my lust5315 shall be satisfied4390 upon them; I will draw7324 my sword,2719 my hand3027 shall destroy

10C Thou didst blow5398 with thy wind,7307 the sea3220 covered3680 them: they sank6749 as lead5777 in the mighty117 waters.

11C Who is like unto thee, O Lord,3068 among the gods?410 who is like thee, glorious142 in holiness,6944 fearful3372 in praises,8416 doing6213 wonders?

12 Thou stretchedst out5186 thy right hand,3225 the earth776 swallowed

13 Thou in thy mercy2617 hast led forth5148 the people5971 which2098 thou hast redeemed:1350 thou hast guided5095 them in thy strength5797 unto thy holy6944 habitation.

14 The people5971 shall hear,8085 and be afraid:7264 sorrow2427 shall take hold270 on the inhabitants3427 of Palestina.

15 Then227 the dukes441 of Edom123 shall be amazed;926 the mighty men352 of Moab,4124 trembling7461 shall take hold270 upon them; all the inhabitants3427 of Canaan3667 shall melt away.

16 Fear367 and dread6343 shall fall5307 upon them; by the greatness1419 of thine arm2220 they shall be as still1826 as a stone;68 till thy people5971 pass over,5674 O Lord,3068 till the people5971 pass over,5674 which2098 thou hast purchased.

17 Thou shalt bring935 them in, and plant5193 them in the mountain2022 of thine inheritance,5159 in the place,4349 O Lord,3068 which thou hast made6466 for thee to dwell in,3427 in the Sanctuary,4720 O Lord,136 which thy hands3027 have established.

18 The Lord3068 shall reign4427 for ever5769 and ever.

19 For the horse5483 of Pharaoh6547 went in935 with his chariots7393 and with his horsemen6571 into the sea,3220 and the Lord3068 brought again7725 the waters4325 of the sea3220 upon them; but the children1121 of Israel3478 went1980 on dry3004 land in the midst8432 of the sea.

20C And Miriam4813 the prophetess,5031 the sister269 of Aaron,175 took3947 a timbrel8596 in her hand;3027 and all the women802 went out3318 after310 her with timbrels8596 and with dances.

21 And Miriam4813 answered6030 them, Sing7891 ye to the Lord,3068 for he hath triumphed1342 gloriously;1342 the horse5483 and his rider7392 hath he thrown7411 into the sea.

22C So Moses4872 brought5265 Israel3478 from the Red5488 sea,3220 and they went out3318 into the wilderness4057 of Shur;7793 and they went3212 three7969 days3117 in the wilderness,4057 and found4672 no water.

23C And when they came935 to Marah,4785 they could3201 not drink8354 of the waters4325 of Marah,4785 for they were bitter:4751 therefore the name8034 of it was called7121 Marah.

24C And the people5971 murmured3885 against Moses,4872 saying,559 What shall we drink?

25C And he cried6817 unto the Lord;3068 and the Lord3068 shewed3384 him a tree,6086 which when he had cast7993 into the waters,4325 the waters4325 were made sweet:4985 there he made7760 for them a statute2706 and an ordinance,4941 and there he proved

26C And said,559 If thou wilt diligently8085 hearken8085 to the voice6963 of the Lord3068 thy God,430 and wilt do6213 that which is right3477 in his sight,5869 and wilt give ear238 to his commandments,4687 and keep8104 all his statutes,2706 I will put7760 none of these diseases4245 upon thee, which I have brought7760 upon the Egyptians:4714 for I am the Lord3068 that healeth

27C And they came935 to Elim,362 where were twelve81476240 wells5869 of water,4325 and threescore and ten7657 palm trees:8558 and they encamped2583 there by the waters.

16CAnd they took their journey5265 from Elim,362 and all the congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel3478 came935 unto the wilderness4057 of Sin,5512 which is between Elim362 and Sinai,5514 on the fifteenth25686240 day3117 of the second8145 month2320 after their departing out3318 of the land776 of Egypt.

2 And the whole congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel3478 murmured3885 against Moses4872 and Aaron175 in the wilderness:

3C And the children1121 of Israel3478 said559 unto them, Would to God43105414 we had died4191 by the hand3027 of the Lord3068 in the land776 of Egypt,4714 when we sat3427 by the flesh1320 pots,5518 and when we did eat398 bread3899 to the full;7648 for ye have brought us forth3318 into this wilderness,4057 to kill4191 this whole assembly6951 with hunger.

4 Then said559 the Lord3068 unto Moses,4872 Behold, I will rain4305 bread3899 from heaven8064 for you; and the people5971 shall go out3318 and gather3950 a certain rate1697 every day,31173117 that I may prove5254 them, whether they will walk3212 in my law,

5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth8345 day3117 they shall prepare3559 that which834 they bring in;935 and it shall be twice4932 as much as they gather3950 daily.3117

6 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 said559 unto all the children1121 of Israel,3478 At even,6153 then ye shall know3045 that the Lord3068 hath brought you out3318 from the land776 of Egypt:

7C And in the morning,1242 then ye shall see7200 the glory3519 of the Lord;3068 for that he heareth8085 your murmurings8519 against the Lord:3068 and what are we,5168 that ye murmur3885

8 And Moses4872 said,559 This shall be, when the Lord3068 shall give5414 you in the evening6153 flesh1320 to eat,398 and in the morning1242 bread3899 to the full;7646 for that the Lord3068 heareth8085 your murmurings8519 which ye murmur3885 against him: and what are we?5168 your murmurings8519 are not against us, but against the Lord.

9 And Moses4872 spake559 unto Aaron,175 Say559 unto all the congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 Come near7126 before6440 the Lord:3068 for he hath heard8085 your murmurings.

10 And it came to pass, as Aaron175 spake1696 unto the whole congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 that they looked6437 toward the wilderness,4057 and, behold, the glory3519 of the Lord3068 appeared7200 in the cloud.

11 And the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses,4872 saying,

12 I have heard8085 the murmurings8519 of the children1121 of Israel:3478 speak1696 unto them, saying,559 At even9966153 ye shall eat398 flesh,1320 and in the morning1242 ye shall be filled7646 with bread;3899 and ye shall know3045 that I am the Lord3068 your God.

13C And it came to pass, that at even6153 the quails7958 came up,5927 and covered3680 the camp:4264 and in the morning1242 the dew2919 lay7902 round about5439 the host.

14C And when the dew2919 that lay7902 was gone up,5927 behold, upon the face6440 of the wilderness4057 there lay a small1851 round thing,2636 as small1851 as the hoar frost3713 on the ground.

15C And when the children1121 of Israel3478 saw7200 it, they said559 one376 to another,251 It is manna:4478 for they wist3045 not what it was. And Moses4872 said559 unto them, This is the bread3899 which the Lord3068 hath given5414 you to eat.

16C This is the thing1697 which834 the Lord3068 hath commanded,6680 Gather3950 of it every man376 according6310 to his eating,400 an omer6016 for every man,1538 according to the number4557 of your persons;5315 take3947 ye every man376 for them which are in his tents.

17 And the children1121 of Israel3478 did6213 so, and gathered,3950 some more,7235 some less.

18 And when they did mete4058 it with an omer,6016 he that gathered much7235 had nothing over,5736 and he that gathered little4591 had no lack;2637 they gathered3950 every man376 according6310 to his eating.

19 And Moses4872 said,559 Let no man376 leave3498 of it till the morning.

20 Notwithstanding they hearkened8085 not unto Moses;4872 but some582 of them left3498 of it until the morning,1242 and it bred7311 worms,8438 and stank:887 and Moses4872 was wroth

21C And they gathered3950 it every morning,1242 every man376 according6310 to his eating:400 and when the sun8121 waxed hot,2552 it melted.

22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth8345 day3117 they gathered3950 twice4932 as much bread,3899 two8147 omers6016 for one259 man: and all the rulers5387 of the congregation5712 came935 and told5046 Moses.

23C And he said559 unto them, This is that which the Lord3068 hath said,1696 To morrow4279 is the rest7677 of the holy6944 sabbath7676 unto the Lord:3068 bake644 that which ye will bake644 to day, and seethe1310 that ye will seethe;1310 and that which3605 remaineth over5736 lay up3240 for you to be kept4931 until the morning.

24 And they laid it up3240 till the morning,1242 as Moses4872 bade:6680 and it did not stink,887 neither was there any worm

25 And Moses4872 said,559 Eat398 that to day;3117 for to day3117 is a sabbath7676 unto the Lord:3068 to day3117 ye shall not find4672 it in the field.

26 Six8337 days3117 ye shall gather3950 it; but on the seventh7637 day,3117 which is the sabbath,

27 And it came to pass, that there went out3318 some of the people5971 on the seventh7637 day3117 for to gather,3950 and they found

28 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 How long refuse3985 ye to keep8104 my commandments4687 and my laws?

29 See,7200 for that the Lord3068 hath given5414 you the sabbath,7676 therefore he giveth5414 you on the sixth8345 day3117 the bread3899 of two days;3117 abide3427 ye every man376 in his place, let no man376 go out3318 of his place4725 on the seventh7637 day.

30 So the people5971 rested7673 on the seventh7637 day.

31C And the house1004 of Israel3478 called7121 the name8034 thereof Manna:4478 and it was like coriander1407 seed,2233 white;3836 and the taste2940 of it was like wafers6838 made with honey.

32 And Moses4872 said,559 This is the thing1697 which the Lord3068 commandeth,6680 Fill4393 an omer6016 of it to be kept4931 for your generations;1755 that they may see7200 the bread3899 wherewith I have fed398 you in the wilderness,4057 when I brought you forth3318 from the land776 of Egypt.

33C And Moses4872 said559 unto Aaron,175 Take3947 a259 pot,6803 and put5414 an omer6016 full4393 of manna4478 therein, and lay it up3240 before6440 the Lord,3068 to be kept4931 for your generations.

34C As the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses,4872 so Aaron175 laid it up3240 before6440 the Testimony,5715 to be kept.

35C And the children1121 of Israel3478 did eat398 manna4478 forty705 years,8141 until they came935 to a land776 inhabited;3427 they did eat398 manna,4478 until they came935 unto the borders7097 of the land776 of Canaan.

36 Now an omer6016 is the tenth6224 part of an ephah.

17And all the congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel3478 journeyed5265 from the wilderness4057 of Sin,5512 after their journeys,4550 according to the commandment6310 of the Lord,3068 and pitched2583 in Rephidim:7508 and there was no water4325 for the people5971 to drink.

2 Wherefore the people5971 did chide7378 with Moses,4872 and said,559 Give5414 us water4325 that we may drink.8354 And Moses4872 said559 unto them, Why chide7378 ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt5254 the Lord?

3 And the people5971 thirsted6770 there for water;4325 and the people5971 murmured3885 against Moses,4872 and said,559 Wherefore is this that thou hast brought5927 us up out of Egypt,4714 to kill4191 us and our children1121 and our cattle4735 with thirst?

4 And Moses4872 cried6817 unto the Lord,3068 saying,559 What shall I do6213 unto this people?5971 they be almost4592 ready to stone

5 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Go on5674 before6440 the people,5971 and take3947 with thee of the elders2205 of Israel;3478 and thy rod,4294 wherewith thou smotest5221 the river,2975 take3947 in thine hand,3027 and go.

6C Behold, I will stand5975 before6440 thee there upon the rock6697 in Horeb;2722 and thou shalt smite5221 the rock,6697 and there shall come3318 water4325 out of it, that the people5971 may drink.8354 And Moses4872 did6213 so in the sight5869 of the elders2205 of Israel.

7 And he called7121 the name8034 of the place4725 Massah,4532 and Meribah,4809 because of the chiding7379 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 and because they tempted5254 the Lord,3068 saying,559 Is3426 the Lord3068 among

8C Then came935 Amalek,6002 and fought3898 with Israel3478 in Rephidim.

9 And Moses4872 said559 unto Joshua,3091 Choose us out977 men,582 and go out,3318 fight3898 with Amalek:6002 to morrow4279 I will stand5324 on the top7218 of the hill1389 with the rod4294 of God430 in mine hand.

10 So Joshua3091 did6213 as Moses4872 had said559 to him, and fought3898 with Amalek:6002 and Moses,4872 Aaron,175 and Hur2354 went up5927 to the top7218 of the hill.

11C And it came to pass, when Moses4872 held up7311 his hand,3027 that Israel3478 prevailed:1396 and when he let down5117 his hand,3027 Amalek6002 prevailed.

12 But Moses'4872 hands3027 were heavy;3515 and they took3947 a stone,68 and put7760 it under him, and he sat3427 thereon; and Aaron175 and Hur2354 stayed up8551 his hands,3027 the one on the one side,259 and the other on the other side;259 and his hands3027 were steady530 until the going down935 of the sun.

13C And Joshua3091 discomfited2522 Amalek6002 and his people5971 with the edge6310 of the sword.

14C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Write3789 this for a memorial2146 in a book,5612 and rehearse7760 it in the ears241 of Joshua:3091 for I will utterly4229 put out4229 the remembrance2143 of Amalek6002 from under heaven.

15C And Moses4872 built1129 an altar,4196 and called7121 the name8034 of it Jehovahnissi:

16 For he said,559 Because the Lord3050 hath sworn30273676 that the Lord3068 will have war4421 with Amalek6002 from generation1755 to generation.

18When Jethro,3503 the priest3548 of Midian,4080 Moses'4872 father in law,2859 heard8085 of all that God430 had done6213 for Moses,4872 and for Israel3478 his people,5971 and that the Lord3068 had brought3318 Israel3478 out of Egypt;

2 Then Jethro,3503 Moses'4872 father in law,2859 took3947 Zipporah,6855 Moses'4872 wife,802 after310 he had sent her back,

3 And her two8147 sons;1121 of which the name8034 of the one259 was Gershom;1647 for he said,559 I have been an alien1616 in a strange5237 land:

4 And the name8034 of the other259 was Eliezer;461 for the God430 of my father,1 said he, was mine help,5828 and delivered5337 me from the sword2719 of Pharaoh:

5 And Jethro,3503 Moses'4872 father in law,2859 came935 with his sons1121 and his wife802 unto Moses4872 into the wilderness,4057 where he encamped2583 at the mount2022 of God:

6 And he said559 unto Moses,4872 I thy father in law2859 Jethro3503 am come935 unto thee, and thy wife,802 and her two8147 sons

7 And Moses4872 went out3318 to meet7125 his father in law,2859 and did obeisance,7812 and kissed5401 him; and they asked7592 each376 other7453 of their welfare;7965 and they came935 into the tent.

8 And Moses4872 told5608 his father in law2859 all that the Lord3068 had done6213 unto Pharaoh6547 and to the Egyptians4714 for Israel's3478 sake,182 and all the travail8513 that had come4672 upon them by the way,1870 and how the Lord3068 delivered

9 And Jethro3503 rejoiced2302 for all the goodness2896 which the Lord3068 had done6213 to Israel,3478 whom he had delivered5337 out of the hand3027 of the Egyptians.

10 And Jethro3503 said,559 Blessed1288 be the Lord,3068 who hath delivered5337 you out of the hand3027 of the Egyptians,4714 and out of the hand3027 of Pharaoh,6547 who hath delivered5337 the people5971 from under the hand3027 of the Egyptians.

11 Now I know3045 that the Lord3068 is greater1419 than all gods:430 for in the thing1697 wherein they dealt proudly

12 And Jethro,3503 Moses'4872 father in law,2859 took3947 a burnt offering5930 and sacrifices2077 for God:430 and Aaron175 came,935 and all the elders2205 of Israel,3478 to eat398 bread3899 with Moses'4872 father in law2859 before6440 God.

13C And it came to pass on the morrow,4283 that Moses4872 sat3427 to judge8199 the people:5971 and the people5971 stood5975 by Moses4872 from the morning1242 unto the evening.

14 And when Moses'4872 father in law2859 saw7200 all that he did6213 to the people,5971 he said,559 What is this thing1697 that thou doest6213 to the people?5971 why sittest3427 thou thyself alone, and all the people5971 stand5324 by thee from morning1242 unto even?

15 And Moses4872 said559 unto his father in law,2859 Because the people5971 come935 unto me to enquire1875 of God:

16 When they have a matter,1697 they come935 unto me; and I judge8199 between one376 and another,7453 and I do make them know3045 the statutes2706 of God,430 and his laws.

17 And Moses'4872 father in law2859 said559 unto him, The thing1697 that thou doest6213 is not good.

18C Thou wilt surely5034 wear away,5034 both thou, and this people5971 that is with thee: for this thing1697 is too heavy3515 for thee; thou art not able3201 to perform

19C Hearken8085 now unto my voice,6963 I will give thee counsel,3289 and God430 shall be1961 with thee: Be thou for the people5971 to God-ward,4136430 that thou mayest bring935 the causes1697 unto God:

20 And thou shalt teach2094853 them ordinances2706 and laws,8451 and shalt shew3045 them the way1870 wherein they must walk,3212 and the work4639 that they must do.

21 Moreover thou shalt provide2372 out of all the people5971 able2428 men,582 such as fear3373 God,430 men582 of truth,571 hating8130 covetousness;1215 and place7760 such over them, to be rulers8269 of thousands,505 and rulers8269 of hundreds,3967 rulers8269 of fifties,2572 and rulers8269 of tens:

22 And let them judge8199 the people5971 at all seasons:6256 and it shall be, that every great1419 matter1697 they shall bring935 unto thee, but every small6996 matter1697 they shall judge:8199 so shall it be easier7043 for thyself, and they shall bear

23 If thou shalt do6213 this thing,1697 and God430 command6680 thee so, then thou shalt be able3201 to endure,5975 and all this people5971 shall also go935 to their place4725 in peace.

24C So Moses4872 hearkened8085 to the voice6963 of his father in law,2859 and did6213 all that he had said.

25C And Moses4872 chose977 able2428 men582 out of all Israel,3478 and made5414 them heads7218 over the people,5971 rulers8269 of thousands,505 rulers8269 of hundreds,3967 rulers8269 of fifties,2572 and rulers8269 of tens.

26 And they judged8199 the people5971 at all seasons:6256 the hard7186 causes1697 they brought935 unto Moses,4872 but every small6996 matter16971992 they judged

27 And Moses4872 let his father in law2859 depart;7971 and he went3212 his way into his own land.

19CIn the third7992 month,2320 when the children1121 of Israel3478 were gone forth3318 out of the land776 of Egypt,4714 the same day3117 came935 they into the wilderness4057 of Sinai.

2 For they were departed5265 from Rephidim,7508 and were come935 to the desert4057 of Sinai,5514 and had pitched2583 in the wilderness;4057 and there Israel3478 camped2583 before the mount.

3 And Moses4872 went up5927 unto God,430 and the Lord3068 called7121 unto him out of the mountain,2022 saying,559 Thus shalt thou say559 to the house1004 of Jacob,3290 and tell5046 the children1121 of Israel;

4 Ye have seen7200 what I did6213 unto the Egyptians,4714 and how I bare5375 you on eagles'5404 wings,3671 and brought

5C Now therefore, if ye will obey8085 my voice6963 indeed,8085 and keep8104 my covenant,1285 then ye shall be a peculiar treasure5459 unto me above all people:5971 for all the earth

6C And ye shall be unto me a kingdom4467 of priests,3548 and an holy6918 nation.1471 These are the words1697 which thou shalt speak1696 unto the children1121 of Israel.

7 And Moses4872 came935 and called7121 for the elders2205 of the people,5971 and laid7760 before their faces6440 all these words1697 which the Lord3068 commanded

8C And all the people5971 answered6030 together,3162 and said,559 All that the Lord3068 hath spoken1696 we will do.6213 And Moses4872 returned7725 the words1697 of the people5971 unto the Lord.

9 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Lo, I come935 unto thee in a thick5645 cloud,6051 that the people5971 may hear8085 when I speak1696 with thee, and believe539 thee for ever.5769 And Moses4872 told5046 the words1697 of the people5971 unto the Lord.

10C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Go3212 unto the people,5971 and sanctify6942 them to day3117 and to morrow,4279 and let them wash3526 their clothes,

11C And be ready3559 against the third7992 day:3117 for the third7992 day3117 the Lord3068 will come down3381 in the sight5869 of all the people5971 upon mount2022 Sinai.

12C And thou shalt set bounds1379 unto the people5971 round about,5439 saying,559 Take heed8104 to yourselves, that ye go not up5927 into the mount,2022 or touch5060 the border7097 of it: whosoever toucheth5060 the mount2022 shall be surely4191 put to death:

13C There shall not an hand3027 touch5060 it, but he shall surely5619 be stoned,5619 or176 shot3384 through;3384 whether it be beast929 or518 man,376 it shall not live:2421 when the trumpet3104 soundeth long,4900 they shall come up5927 to the mount.

14 And Moses4872 went down3381 from the mount2022 unto the people,5971 and sanctified6942 the people;5971 and they washed3526 their clothes.

15C And he said559 unto the people,5971 Be1961 ready3559 against the third7969 day:3117 come5066 not at your wives.

16C And it came to pass on the third7992 day3117 in the morning,1242 that there were thunders6963 and lightnings,1300 and a thick3515 cloud6051 upon the mount,2022 and the voice6963 of the trumpet7782 exceeding3966 loud;2389 so that all the people5971 that was in the camp4264 trembled.

17 And Moses4872 brought forth3318 the people5971 out of the camp4264 to meet7125 with God;430 and they stood3320 at the nether8482 part of the mount.

18C And mount2022 Sinai5514 was altogether on a smoke,6225 because6440834 the Lord3068 descended3381 upon it in fire:784 and the smoke6227 thereof ascended5927 as the smoke6227 of a furnace,3536 and the whole mount2022 quaked2729 greatly.

19 And when the voice6963 of the trumpet7782 sounded6963 long,1980 and waxed louder2390 and louder,3966 Moses4872 spake,1696 and God430 answered6030 him by a voice.

20C And the Lord3068 came down3381 upon mount2022 Sinai,5514 on the top7218 of the mount:2022 and the Lord3068 called7121 Moses4872 up to413 the top7218 of the mount;2022 and Moses4872 went up.

21C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Go down,3381 charge5749 the people,5971 lest they break through2040 unto the Lord3068 to gaze,7200 and many7227 of them perish.

22 And let the priests3548 also, which come near5066 to the Lord,3068 sanctify6942 themselves, lest the Lord3068 break forth

23 And Moses4872 said559 unto the Lord,3068 The people5971 cannot3201 come up5927 to mount2022 Sinai:5514 for thou chargedst5749 us, saying,559 Set bounds1379 about the mount,2022 and sanctify

24 And the Lord3068 said559 unto him, Away,3212 get thee down,3381 and thou shalt come up,5927 thou, and Aaron175 with thee: but let not the priests3548 and the people5971 break through2040 to come up5927 unto the Lord,3068 lest he break forth

25C So Moses4872 went down3381 unto the people,5971 and spake

20CAnd God430 spake1696 all these words,1697 saying,

2C I am the Lord3068 thy God,430 which have brought3318 thee out of the land776 of Egypt,4714 out of the house1004 of bondage.

3C Thou shalt have no other312 gods430 before me.

4C Thou shalt not make6213 unto thee any graven image,6459 or any likeness8544 of any thing that834 is in heaven8064 above,4605 or that is in the earth776 beneath, or that is in the water4325 under the earth:

5C Thou shalt not bow down7812 thyself to them, nor serve5647 them: for I the Lord3068 thy God430 am a jealous7067 God,410 visiting6485 the iniquity5771 of the fathers1 upon the children1121 unto the third8029 and fourth7256 generation of them that hate

6 And shewing6213 mercy2617 unto thousands505 of them that love157 me, and keep8104 my commandments.

7C Thou shalt not take5375 the name8034 of the Lord3068 thy God430 in vain;7723 for the Lord3068 will not hold him guiltless5352 that taketh5375 his name8034 in vain.

8C Remember2142 the sabbath7676 day,3117 to keep it holy.

9 Six8337 days3117 shalt thou labour,5647 and do6213 all thy work:

10C But the seventh7637 day3117 is the sabbath7676 of the Lord3068 thy God:430 in it thou shalt not do6213 any work,4399 thou, nor thy son,1121 nor thy daughter,1323 thy manservant,5650 nor thy maidservant,519 nor thy cattle,929 nor thy stranger1616 that is within thy gates:

11C For in six8337 days3117 the Lord3068 made6213 heaven8064 and earth,776 the sea,3220 and all that in them is, and rested5117 the seventh7637 day:3117 wherefore the Lord3068 blessed1288 the sabbath7676 day,3117 and hallowed

12C Honour3513 thy father1 and thy mother:517 that thy days3117 may be long748 upon the land127 which the Lord3068 thy God430 giveth

13C Thou shalt not kill.

14C Thou shalt not commit adultery.

15C Thou shalt not steal.

16C Thou shalt not bear6030 false8267 witness5707 against thy neighbour.

17C Thou shalt not covet2530 thy neighbour's7453 house,1004 thou shalt not covet2530 thy neighbour's7453 wife,802 nor his manservant,5650 nor his maidservant,519 nor his ox,7794 nor his ass,2543 nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

18C And all the people5971 saw7200 the thunderings,6963 and the lightnings,3940 and the noise6963 of the trumpet,7782 and the mountain2022 smoking:6226 and when the people5971 saw7200 it, they removed,5128 and stood5975 afar off.

19C And they said559 unto Moses,4872 Speak1696 thou with us, and we will hear:8085 but let not God430 speak1696 with us, lest we die.

20 And Moses4872 said559 unto the people,5971 Fear3372 not: for God430 is come935 to5668 prove5254 you, and that his fear3374 may be before your faces,6440 that ye sin

21C And the people5971 stood5975 afar off,7350 and Moses4872 drew near5066 unto the thick darkness6205 where God

22C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Thus thou shalt say559 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 Ye have seen7200 that I have talked1696 with you from heaven.

23 Ye shall not make6213 with me gods430 of silver,3701 neither shall ye make6213 unto you gods430 of gold.

24C An altar4196 of earth127 thou shalt make6213 unto me, and shalt sacrifice2076 thereon thy burnt offerings,5930 and thy peace offerings,8002 thy sheep,6629 and thine oxen:1241 in all places4725 where I record2142 my name8034 I will come935 unto thee, and I will bless

25 And if thou wilt make6213 me an altar4196 of stone,68 thou shalt not build1129 it of hewn stone:1496 for if thou lift up5130 thy tool2719 upon it, thou hast polluted

26C Neither shalt thou go up5927 by steps4609 unto mine altar,4196 that thy nakedness6172 be not discovered

21Now these are the judgments4941 which thou shalt set7760 before

2 If thou buy7069 an Hebrew5680 servant,5650 six8337 years8141 he shall serve:5647 and in the seventh7637 he shall go out3318 free2670 for nothing.

3 If he came in935 by himself,1610 he shall go out3318 by himself:1610 if he were married,1167802 then his wife802 shall go out

4C If his master113 have given5414 him a wife,802 and she have born3205 him sons1121 or daughters;1323 the wife802 and her children3206 shall be her master's,113 and he shall go out3318 by himself.

5 And if the servant5650 shall plainly559 say,559 I love157 my master,113 my wife,802 and my children;1121 I will not go out3318 free:

6C Then his master113 shall bring5066 him unto the judges;430 he shall also bring5066 him to the door,1817 or unto the door post;4201 and his master113 shall bore7527 his ear241 through with an aul;4836 and he shall serve5647 him for ever.

7 And if a man376 sell4376 his daughter1323 to be a maidservant,519 she shall not go out3318 as the menservants5650 do.

8 If she please74515869 not her master,113 who hath betrothed3259 her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed:6299 to sell4376 her unto a strange5237 nation5971 he shall have no power,4910 seeing he hath dealt deceitfully

9 And if he have betrothed3259 her unto his son,1121 he shall deal6213 with her after the manner4941 of daughters.

10 If he take3947 him another312 wife; her food,7607 her raiment,3682 and her duty of marriage,5772 shall he not diminish.

11 And if he do6213 not these three7969 unto her, then shall she go out3318 free2600 without money.

12C He that smiteth5221 a man,376 so that he die,4191 shall be surely4191 put to death.

13C And if a man lie not in wait,6658 but God430 deliver579 him into his hand;3027 then I will appoint7760 thee a place4725 whither he shall flee.

14C But if a man376 come presumptuously2102 upon his neighbour,7453 to slay2026 him with guile;6195 thou shalt take3947 him from mine altar,4196 that he may die.

15 And he that smiteth5221 his father,1 or his mother,517 shall be surely4191 put to death.

16 And he that stealeth1589 a man,376 and selleth4376 him, or if he be found4672 in his hand,3027 he shall surely4191 be put to death.

17 And he that curseth7043 his father,1 or his mother,517 shall surely4191 be put to death.

18 And if men582 strive7378 together, and one376 smite5221 another7453 with a stone,68 or176 with his fist,106 and he die4191 not, but keepeth5307 his bed:

19 If he rise again,6965 and walk1980 abroad2351 upon his staff,4938 then shall he that smote5221 him be quit:5352 only he shall pay5414 for the loss of his time,7674 and shall cause him to be thoroughly7495 healed.

20 And if a man376 smite5221 his servant,5650 or his maid,519 with a rod,7626 and he die4191 under his hand;3027 he shall be surely5358 punished.

21 Notwithstanding,389 if he continue5975 a day3117 or two,8147 he shall not be punished:5358 for he is his money.

22 If men582 strive,5327 and hurt5062 a woman802 with child,2030 so that her fruit3206 depart3318 from her, and yet no mischief follow:611 he shall be surely6064 punished,6064 according as the woman's802 husband1167 will lay7896 upon him; and he shall pay5414 as the judges

23C And if any mischief follow,611 then thou shalt give5414 life5315 for life,

24C Eye5869 for eye,5869 tooth8127 for tooth,8127 hand3027 for hand,3027 foot7272 for foot,

25 Burning3555 for burning,3555 wound6482 for wound,6482 stripe2250 for stripe.

26C And if a man376 smite5221 the eye5869 of his servant,5650 or the eye5869 of his maid,519 that it perish;7843 he shall let him go7971 free2670 for8478 his eye's

27 And if he smite5307 out his manservant's5650 tooth,8127 or his maidservant's519 tooth;8127 he shall let him go7971 free2670 for his tooth's

28 If an ox7794 gore5055 a man376 or a woman,802 that they die:4191 then the ox7794 shall be surely5619 stoned,5619 and his flesh1320 shall not be eaten;398 but the owner1167 of the ox7794 shall be quit.

29 But if the ox7794 were wont to push with his horn5056 in time past,85438032 and it hath been testified5749 to his owner,1167 and he hath not kept8104 him in, but that he hath killed4191 a man376 or a woman;802 the ox7794 shall be stoned,5619 and his owner1167 also shall be put to death.

30 If there be laid7896 on him a sum of money,3724 then he shall give5414 for the ransom6306 of his life5315 whatsoever is laid

31 Whether he have gored5055 a son,1121 or176 have gored5055 a daughter,1323 according to this judgment4941 shall it be done

32 If the ox7794 shall push5055 a manservant5650 or a maidservant;519 he shall give5414 unto their master113 thirty7970 shekels8255 of silver,3701 and the ox7794 shall be stoned.

33 And if a man376 shall open6605 a pit,953 or if a man376 shall dig3738 a pit,953 and not cover3680 it, and an ox7794 or an ass2543 fall

34 The owner1167 of the pit953 shall make it good,7999 and give7725 money3701 unto the owner1167 of them; and the dead

35 And if one man's376 ox7794 hurt5062 another's,7453 that he die;4191 then they shall sell4376 the live2416 ox,7794 and divide2673 the money3701 of it; and the dead4191 ox also they shall divide.

36 Or if it be known3045 that the ox7794 hath used to push5056 in time past,85438032 and his owner1167 hath not kept8104 him in; he shall surely7999 pay7999 ox7794 for ox;7794 and the dead

22If a man376 shall steal1589 an ox,7794 or a sheep,7716 and kill2873 it, or sell4376 it; he shall restore7999 five2568 oxen1241 for an ox,7794 and four702 sheep6629 for a sheep.

4 If the theft1591 be certainly4672 found4672 in his hand3027 alive,2416 whether it be ox,7794 or ass,2543 or sheep;7716 he shall restore7999 double.

5 If a man376 shall cause a field7704 or vineyard3754 to be eaten,1197 and shall put7971 in his beast,1165 and shall feed1197 in another man's312 field;7704 of the best4315 of his own field,7704 and of the best4315 of his own vineyard,3754 shall he make restitution.

6 If fire784 break out,3318 and catch4672 in thorns,6975 so that the stacks of corn,1430 or the standing corn,7054 or the field,7704 be consumed398 therewith; he that kindled1197 the fire1200 shall surely7999 make restitution.

7 If a man376 shall deliver5414 unto his neighbour7453 money3701 or stuff3627 to keep,8104 and it be stolen1589 out of the man's376 house;1004 if the thief1590 be found,4672 let him pay7999 double.

8C If the thief1590 be not3808 found,4672 then the master1167 of the house1004 shall be brought7126 unto the judges,430 to see whether he have put7971 his hand3027 unto his neighbour's7453 goods.

9C For all manner1697 of trespass,6588 whether it be for ox,7794 for ass,2543 for sheep,7716 for raiment,8008 or for any manner of lost thing,9 which another challengeth559 to be his, the cause1697 of both parties8147 shall come935 before the judges;430 and whom the judges430 shall condemn,7561 he shall pay7999 double8147 unto his neighbour.

10 If a man376 deliver5414 unto his neighbour7453 an ass,2543 or an ox,7794 or a sheep,7716 or any beast,929 to keep;8104 and it die,4191 or be hurt,7665 or driven away,7617 no man seeing

11 Then shall an oath7621 of the Lord3068 be between them both,8147 that he hath not put7971 his hand3027 unto his neighbour's7453 goods;4399 and the owner1167 of it shall accept3947 thereof, and he shall not make it good.

12 And if it be stolen15891589 from him, he shall make restitution7999 unto the owner

13 If it be torn in pieces,29632963 then let him bring935 it for witness,5707 and he shall not make good7999 that which was torn.

21C Thou shalt neither vex3238 a stranger,1616 nor oppress3905 him: for ye were strangers1616 in the land776 of Egypt.

22C Ye shall not afflict6031 any widow,490 or fatherless child.

23 If518 thou afflict6031 them in any wise,6031 and they cry6817 at all6817 unto me, I will surely8085 hear8085 their cry;

24 And my wrath639 shall wax hot,2734 and I will kill2026 you with the sword;2719 and your wives802 shall be widows,490 and your children1121 fatherless.

25C If thou lend3867 money3701 to any of my people5971 that is poor6041 by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer,5383 neither shalt thou lay7760 upon him usury.

26 If thou at all2254 take2254 thy neighbour's7453 raiment8008 to pledge,2254 thou shalt deliver7725 it unto him by5704 that the sun8121 goeth down:

27 For that is his covering3682 only, it is his raiment8071 for his skin:5785 wherein shall he sleep?7901 and it shall come to pass, when he crieth6817 unto me, that I will hear;8085 for I am gracious.

28C Thou shalt not revile7043 the gods,430 nor curse779 the ruler5387 of thy people.

29 Thou shalt not delay309 to offer the first of thy ripe fruits,4395 and of thy liquors:1831 the firstborn1060 of thy sons1121 shalt thou give

30 Likewise3651 shalt thou do6213 with thine oxen,7794 and with thy sheep:6629 seven7651 days3117 it shall be with his dam;517 on the eighth8066 day3117 thou shalt give

31 And ye shall be holy6944 men582 unto me: neither shall ye eat398 any flesh1320 that is torn of beasts2966 in the field;7704 ye shall cast7993 it to the dogs.

23Thou shalt not raise5375 a false7723 report:8088 put7896 not thine hand3027 with the wicked7563 to be an unrighteous2555 witness.

2C Thou shalt not follow310 a multitude7227 to do evil;7451 neither shalt thou speak6030 in a cause7379 to decline5186 after310 many7227 to wrest

3 Neither shalt thou countenance1921 a poor1800 man in his cause.

4C If thou meet6293 thine enemy's341 ox7794 or his ass2543 going astray,8582 thou shalt surely7725 bring it back7725 to him again.

5 If thou see7200 the ass2543 of him that hateth8130 thee lying7257 under his burden,4853 and wouldest forbear2308 to help5800 him, thou shalt surely5800 help

6 Thou shalt not wrest5186 the judgment4941 of thy poor34 in his cause.

7C Keep thee far7368 from a false8267 matter;1697 and the innocent5355 and righteous6662 slay2026 thou not: for I will not justify6663 the wicked.

8 And thou shalt take3947 no gift:7810 for the gift7810 blindeth5786 the wise,6493 and perverteth5557 the words1697 of the righteous.

9C Also thou shalt not oppress3905 a stranger:1616 for ye know3045 the heart5315 of a stranger,1616 seeing3588 ye were strangers1616 in the land776 of Egypt.

10 And six8337 years8141 thou shalt sow2232 thy land,776 and shalt gather622 in the fruits

11C But the seventh7637 year thou shalt let it rest8058 and lie5203 still; that the poor34 of thy people5971 may eat:398 and what they leave3499 the beasts2416 of the field7704 shall eat.398 In like manner thou shalt deal6213 with thy vineyard,3754 and with thy oliveyard.

12C Six8337 days3117 thou shalt do6213 thy work,4639 and on the seventh7637 day3117 thou shalt rest:7673 that thine ox7794 and thine ass2543 may rest,5117 and the son1121 of thy handmaid,519 and the stranger,1616 may be refreshed.

13 And in all things that I have said559 unto you be circumspect:8104 and make no mention2142 of the name8034 of other312 gods,430 neither let it be heard8085 out5921 of thy mouth.

14 Three7969 times7272 thou shalt keep a feast2287 unto me in the year.

15 Thou shalt keep8104 the feast2282 of unleavened bread:4682 (thou shalt eat398 unleavened bread4682 seven7651 days,3117 as I commanded6680 thee, in the time appointed4150 of the month2320 Abib;24 for in it thou camest out3318 from Egypt:4714 and none shall appear7200 before6440 me empty:)

16C And the feast2282 of harvest,7105 the firstfruits1061 of thy labours,4639 which thou hast sown2232 in the field:7704 and the feast2282 of ingathering,614 which is in the end3318 of the year,8141 when thou hast gathered622 in thy labours4639 out of the field.

17 Three7969 times6471 in the year8141 all thy males2138 shall appear7200 before6440 the Lord113 God.

18C Thou shalt not offer2076 the blood1818 of my sacrifice2077 with leavened bread;2557 neither shall the fat2459 of my sacrifice2282 remain3885 until the morning.

19 The first7225 of the firstfruits1061 of thy land127 thou shalt bring935 into the house1004 of the Lord3068 thy God.430 Thou shalt not seethe1310 a kid1423 in his mother's517 milk.

20 Behold, I send7971 an Angel4397 before6440 thee, to keep8104 thee in the way,1870 and to bring935 thee into the place4725 which I have prepared.

21 Beware8104 of6440 him, and obey8085 his voice,6963 provoke4843 him not; for he will not pardon5375 your transgressions:6588 for my name8034 is in him.

22 But if thou shalt indeed8085 obey8085 his voice,6963 and do6213 all that I speak;1696 then I will be an enemy340 unto thine enemies,341 and an adversary6887 unto thine adversaries.

23C For mine Angel4397 shall go3212 before6440 thee, and bring935 thee in unto the Amorites,567 and the Hittites,2850 and the Perizzites,6522 and the Canaanites,3669 the Hivites,2340 and the Jebusites:2983 and I will cut them off.

24 Thou shalt not bow down7812 to their gods,430 nor serve5647 them, nor do6213 after their works:4639 but thou shalt utterly2040 overthrow2040 them, and quite7665 break down7665 their images.

25 And ye shall serve5647 the Lord3068 your God,430 and he shall bless1288 thy bread,3899 and thy water;4325 and I will take5493 sickness4245 away5493 from the midst

26 There shall nothing cast their young,7921 nor be barren,6135 in thy land:776 the number4557 of thy days3117 I will fulfil.

27 I will send7971 my fear367 before6440 thee, and will destroy2000 all the people5971 to whom thou shalt come,935 and I will make5414 all thine enemies341 turn their backs

28 And I will send7971 hornets6880 before6440 thee, which shall drive out1644 the Hivite,2340 the Canaanite,3669 and the Hittite,2850 from before

29 I will not drive them out1644 from before6440 thee in one259 year;8141 lest the land776 become desolate,8077 and the beast2416 of the field7704 multiply

30 By little4592 and little4592 I will drive them out1644 from before6440 thee, until thou be increased,6509 and inherit5157 the land.

31 And I will set7896 thy bounds1366 from the Red5488 sea3220 even unto the sea3220 of the Philistines,6430 and from the desert4057 unto the river:5104 for I will deliver5414 the inhabitants3427 of the land776 into your hand;3027 and thou shalt drive them out1644 before

32 Thou shalt make3772 no covenant1285 with them, nor with their gods.

33 They shall not dwell3427 in thy land,776 lest they make thee sin2398 against me: for if thou serve5647 their gods,430 it will surely be a snare

24CAnd he said559 unto Moses,4872 Come up5927 unto the Lord,3068 thou, and Aaron,175 Nadab,5070 and Abihu,30 and seventy7657 of the elders2205 of Israel;3478 and worship7812 ye afar off.

2C And Moses4872 alone shall come near5066 the Lord:3068 but they shall not come nigh;5066 neither shall the people5971 go up

3C And Moses4872 came935 and told5608 the people5971 all the words1697 of the Lord,3068 and all the judgments:4941 and all the people5971 answered6030 with one259 voice,6963 and said,559 All the words1697 which the Lord3068 hath said1696 will we do.

4 And Moses4872 wrote3789 all the words1697 of the Lord,3068 and rose up early7925 in the morning,1242 and builded1129 an altar4196 under8478 the hill,2022 and twelve pillars,4676 according to the twelve81476240 tribes7626 of Israel.

5C And he sent7971 young men5288 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 which offered5927 burnt offerings,5930 and sacrificed2076 peace8002 offerings2077 of oxen6499 unto the Lord.

6C And Moses4872 took3947 half2677 of the blood,1818 and put7760 it in basons;101 and half2677 of the blood1818 he sprinkled2236 on the altar.

7C And he took3947 the book5612 of the covenant,1285 and read7121 in the audience241 of the people:5971 and they said,559 All that the Lord3068 hath said1696 will we do,6213 and be obedient.

8C And Moses4872 took3947 the blood,1818 and sprinkled2236 it on the people,5971 and said,559 Behold the blood1818 of the covenant,1285 which the Lord3068 hath made3772 with you concerning all these words.

9 Then went up5927 Moses,4872 and Aaron,175 Nadab,5070 and Abihu,30 and seventy7657 of the elders2205 of Israel:

10C And they saw7200 the God430 of Israel:3478 and there was under his feet7272 as it were a paved3840 work4639 of a sapphire stone,5601 and as it were the body6106 of heaven8064 in his clearness.

11 And upon the nobles678 of the children1121 of Israel3478 he laid7971 not his hand:3027 also they saw2372 God,430 and did eat398 and drink.

12C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Come up5927 to me into the mount,2022 and be there: and I will give5414 thee tables3871 of stone,68 and a law,8451 and commandments4687 which I have written;3789 that thou mayest teach

13 And Moses4872 rose up,6965 and his minister8334 Joshua:3091 and Moses4872 went up5927 into the mount2022 of God.

14 And he said559 unto the elders,2205 Tarry3427 ye here2088 for us, until we come again7725 unto you: and, behold, Aaron175 and Hur2354 are with you: if any4310 man1167 have any matters1697 to do,1167 let him come

15 And Moses4872 went up5927 into the mount,2022 and a cloud6051 covered3680 the mount.

16C And the glory3519 of the Lord3068 abode7931 upon mount2022 Sinai,5514 and the cloud6051 covered3680 it six8337 days:3117 and the seventh7637 day3117 he called7121 unto Moses4872 out of the midst8432 of the cloud.

17 And the sight4758 of the glory3519 of the Lord3068 was like devouring398 fire784 on the top7218 of the mount2022 in the eyes5869 of the children1121 of Israel.

18 And Moses4872 went935 into the midst8432 of the cloud,6051 and gat him up5927 into the mount:2022 and Moses4872 was in the mount2022 forty705 days3117 and forty705 nights.

25And the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses,4872 saying,

2 Speak1696 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 that they bring3947 me an offering:8641 of every man376 that giveth it willingly5068 with his heart3820 ye shall take3947 my offering.

3C And this is the offering8641 which ye shall take3947 of them; gold,2091 and silver,3701 and brass,

33C Whosoever834376 compoundeth7543 any like it, or whosoever putteth5414 any of it upon a stranger,2114 shall even be cut3772 off from his people.

37C And as for the perfume7004 which thou shalt make,6213 ye shall not make6213 to yourselves according to the composition4971 thereof: it shall be unto thee holy6944 for the Lord.

38 Whosoever834376 shall make6213 like unto that, to smell7306 thereto, shall even be cut off3772 from his people.

11C And the anointing4888 oil,8081 and sweet5561 incense7004 for the holy6944 place: according to all that I have commanded6680 thee shall they do.

12 And the Lord3068 spake559 unto Moses,4872 saying,

13C Speak1696 thou also unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 saying,559 Verily389 my sabbaths7676 ye shall keep:8104 for it is a sign226 between me and you throughout your generations;1755 that ye may know3045 that I am the Lord3068 that doth sanctify

14 Ye shall keep8104 the sabbath7676 therefore; for it is holy6944 unto you: every one that defileth2490 it shall surely4191 be put to death:4191 for whosoever doeth6213 any work4399 therein, that soul5315 shall be cut off3772 from among7130 his people.

15C Six8337 days3117 may work4399 be done;6213 but in the seventh7637 is the sabbath7676 of rest,7677 holy6944 to the Lord:3068 whosoever doeth6213 any work4399 in the sabbath7676 day,3117 he shall surely4191 be put to death.

16C Wherefore the children1121 of Israel3478 shall keep8104 the sabbath,7676 to observe6213 the sabbath7676 throughout their generations,1755 for a perpetual5769 covenant.

17C It is a sign226 between me and the children1121 of Israel3478 for ever:5769 for in six8337 days3117 the Lord3068 made6213 heaven8064 and earth,776 and on the seventh7637 day3117 he rested,7673 and was refreshed.

18C And he gave5414 unto Moses,4872 when he had made an end3615 of communing1696 with him upon mount2022 Sinai,5514 two8147 tables3871 of testimony,5715 tables3871 of stone,68 written3789 with the finger676 of God.

32CAnd when the people5971 saw7200 that Moses4872 delayed954 to come down3381 out of the mount,2022 the people5971 gathered themselves together6950 unto Aaron,175 and said559 unto him, Up,6965 make6213 us gods,430 which shall go3212 before6440 us; for as for this Moses,4872 the man376 that brought5927 us up out of the land776 of Egypt,4714 we wot

2C And Aaron175 said559 unto them, Break off6561 the golden2091 earrings,5141 which are in the ears241 of your wives,802 of your sons,1121 and of your daughters,1323 and bring

3C And all the people5971 brake off6561 the golden2091 earrings5141 which were in their ears,241 and brought935 them unto Aaron.

4C And he received3947 them at their hand,3027 and fashioned6696 it with a graving tool,2747 after he had made6213 it a molten4541 calf:5695 and they said,559 These be thy gods,430 O Israel,3478 which brought5927 thee up out of the land776 of Egypt.

5C And when Aaron175 saw7200 it, he built1129 an altar4196 before6440 it; and Aaron175 made proclamation,7121 and said,559 To morrow4279 is a feast2282 to the Lord.

6C And they rose up early7925 on the morrow,4283 and offered5927 burnt offerings,5930 and brought5066 peace offerings;8002 and the people5971 sat3427 down to eat398 and to drink,8354 and rose up6965 to play.

7 And the Lord3068 said1696 unto Moses,4872 Go,3212 get thee down;3381 for thy people,5971 which thou broughtest5927 out of the land776 of Egypt,4714 have corrupted

8 They have turned5493 aside quickly4118 out of the way1870 which I commanded6680 them: they have made6213 them a molten4541 calf,5695 and have worshipped7812 it, and have sacrificed2076 thereunto, and said,559 These be thy gods,430 O Israel,3478 which have brought thee up5927 out of the land776 of Egypt.

9C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 I have seen7200 this people,5971 and, behold, it is a stiffnecked71866203 people:

10C Now therefore let me alone,3240 that my wrath639 may wax hot2734 against them, and that I may consume3615 them: and I will make6213 of thee a great1419 nation.

11C And Moses4872 besought24706440 the Lord3068 his God,430 and said,559 Lord,3068 why doth thy wrath639 wax hot2734 against thy people,5971 which thou hast brought forth3318 out of the land776 of Egypt4714 with great1419 power,3581 and with a mighty2389 hand?

12 Wherefore should the Egyptians4714 speak,559 and say,559 For mischief7451 did he bring3318 them out, to slay2026 them in the mountains,2022 and to consume3615 them from the face6440 of the earth?127 Turn7725 from thy fierce2740 wrath,639 and repent5162 of this evil7451 against thy people.

13C Remember2142 Abraham,85 Isaac,3327 and Israel,3478 thy servants,5650 to whom thou swarest7650 by thine own self, and saidst1696 unto them, I will multiply7235 your seed2233 as the stars3556 of heaven,8064 and all this land776 that I have spoken559 of will I give5414 unto your seed,2233 and they shall inherit5157 it for ever.

14 And the Lord3068 repented5162 of the evil7451 which he thought1696 to do6213 unto his people.

15C And Moses4872 turned,6437 and went down3381 from the mount,2022 and the two8147 tables3871 of the testimony5715 were in his hand:3027 the tables3871 were written3789 on both8147 their sides;5676 on the one side and on the other were they written.

16C And the tables3871 were the work4639 of God,430 and the writing4385 was the writing4385 of God,430 graven2801 upon the tables.

17 And when Joshua3091 heard8085 the noise6963 of the people5971 as they shouted,7452 he said559 unto Moses,4872 There is a noise6963 of war4421 in the camp.

18 And he said,559 It is not the voice6963 of them that shout6030 for mastery,1369 neither is it the voice6963 of them that cry6030 for being overcome:2476 but the noise6963 of them that sing6031 do I hear.

19C And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh7126 unto the camp,4264 that he saw7200 the calf,5695 and the dancing:4246 and Moses'4872 anger639 waxed hot,2734 and he cast7993 the tables3871 out of his hands,3027 and brake7665 them beneath8478 the mount.

20C And he took3947 the calf5695 which they had made,6213 and burnt8313 it in the fire,784 and ground2912 it to powder,1854 and strawed2219 it upon6440 the water,4325 and made the children1121 of Israel3478 drink

21 And Moses4872 said559 unto Aaron,175 What did6213 this people5971 unto thee, that thou hast brought935 so great1419 a sin

22 And Aaron175 said,559 Let not the anger639 of my lord113 wax hot:2734 thou knowest3045 the people,5971 that they are set on mischief.

23 For they said559 unto me, Make6213 us gods,430 which shall go3212 before6440 us: for as for this Moses,4872 the man376 that brought us up5927 out of the land776 of Egypt,4714 we wot

24 And I said559 unto them, Whosoever hath any gold,2091 let them break6561 it off. So they gave5414 it me: then I cast7993 it into the fire,784 and there came out3318 this calf.

25 And when Moses4872 saw7200 that the people5971 were naked;6544 (for Aaron175 had made them naked6544 unto their shame8103 among their enemies:)

26C Then Moses4872 stood5975 in the gate8179 of the camp,4264 and said,559 Who is on the Lord’s3068 side? let him come unto me. And all the sons1121 of Levi3878 gathered

27 And he said559 unto them, Thus saith559 the Lord3068 God430 of Israel,3478 Put7760 every man376 his sword2719 by his side,3409 and go5674 in and out7725 from gate8179 to gate8179 throughout the camp,4264 and slay2026 every man376 his brother,251 and every man376 his companion,7453 and every man376 his neighbour.

28C And the children1121 of Levi3878 did6213 according to the word1697 of Moses:4872 and there fell5307 of the people5971 that day3117 about three7969 thousand505 men.

29C For Moses4872 had said,559 Consecrate yourselves43903027 to day3117 to the Lord,3068 even3588 every man376 upon his son,1121 and upon his brother;251 that he may bestow5414 upon you a blessing1293 this day.

30C And it came to pass on the morrow,4283 that Moses4872 said559 unto the people,5971 Ye have sinned2398 a great1419 sin:2401 and now I will go up5927 unto the Lord;3068 peradventure194 I shall make an atonement3722 for1157 your sin.

31C And Moses4872 returned7725 unto the Lord,3068 and said,559 Oh,577 this people5971 have sinned2398 a great1419 sin,2401 and have made6213 them gods430 of gold.

32C Yet now, if thou wilt forgive5375 their sin—;2403 and if not, blot4229 me, I pray thee, out of thy book5612 which thou hast written.

33 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Whosoever834 hath sinned2398 against me, him will I blot out4229 of my book.

34C Therefore now go,3212 lead5148 the people5971 unto the place of which I have spoken1696 unto thee: behold, mine Angel4397 shall go3212 before6440 thee: nevertheless in the day3117 when I visit6485 I will visit6485 their sin

35 And the Lord3068 plagued5062 the people,5971 because834 they made6213 the calf,5695 which834 Aaron175 made.

33And the Lord3068 said1696 unto Moses,4872 Depart,3212 and go up5927 hence, thou and the people5971 which thou hast brought up5927 out of the land776 of Egypt,4714 unto the land776 which I sware7650 unto Abraham,85 to Isaac,3327 and to Jacob,3290 saying,559 Unto thy seed2233 will I give

2 And I will send7971 an angel4397 before6440 thee; and I will drive out1644 the Canaanite,3669 the Amorite,567 and the Hittite,2850 and the Perizzite,6522 the Hivite,2340 and the Jebusite:

3 Unto a land776 flowing2100 with milk2461 and honey:1706 for I will not go up5927 in the midst7130 of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked71866203 people:5971 lest I consume3615 thee in the way.

4 And when the people5971 heard8085 these evil7451 tidings,1697 they mourned:56 and no man376 did put7896 on him his ornaments.

5 For the Lord3068 had said559 unto Moses,4872 Say559 unto the children1121 of Israel,3478 Ye are a stiffnecked71866203 people:5971 I will come up5927 into the midst7130 of thee in a259 moment,7281 and consume3615 thee: therefore now put off3381 thy ornaments5716 from thee, that I may know3045 what to do

6 And the children1121 of Israel3478 stripped5337 themselves of their ornaments5716 by the mount2022 Horeb.

7 And Moses4872 took3947 the tabernacle,168 and pitched5186 it without2351 the camp,4264 afar off7368 from the camp,4264 and called7121 it the Tabernacle168 of the congregation.4150 And it came to pass, that every one which sought1245 the Lord3068 went out3318 unto the tabernacle168 of the congregation,4150 which was without2351 the camp.

8 And it came to pass, when Moses4872 went out3318 unto the tabernacle,168 that all the people5971 rose up,6965 and stood5324 every man376 at his tent168 door,6607 and looked5027 after310 Moses,4872 until he was gone935 into the tabernacle.

9 And it came to pass, as Moses4872 entered935 into the tabernacle,168 the cloudy6051 pillar5982 descended,3381 and stood5975 at the door6607 of the tabernacle,168 and the Lord talked1696 with Moses.

10 And all the people5971 saw7200 the cloudy6051 pillar5982 stand5975 at the tabernacle168 door:6607 and all the people5971 rose up6965 and worshipped,7812 every man376 in his tent168 door.

11C And the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses4872 face6440 to face,6440 as a man376 speaketh1696 unto his friend.7453 And he turned again7725 into the camp:4264 but his servant8334 Joshua,3091 the son1121 of Nun,5126 a young man,5288 departed4185 not out8432 of the tabernacle.

12 And Moses4872 said559 unto the Lord,3068 See,7200 thou sayest559 unto me, Bring up5927 this people:5971 and thou hast not let me know3045 whom thou wilt send7971 with me. Yet thou hast said,559 I know3045 thee by name,8034 and thou hast also found4672 grace2580 in my sight.

13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found4672 grace2580 in thy sight,5869 shew3045 me now thy way,1870 that I may know3045 thee, that I may find4672 grace2580 in thy sight:5869 and consider7200 that this nation1471 is thy people.

14C And he said,559 My presence6440 shall go3212 with thee, and I will give thee rest.

15C And he said559 unto him, If thy presence6440 go1980 not with me, carry us not up

16 For wherein shall it be known3045 here645 that I and thy people5971 have found4672 grace2580 in thy sight?5869 is it not in that thou goest3212 with us? so shall we be separated,6395 I and thy people,5971 from all the people5971 that are upon the face6440 of the earth.

17 And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 I will do6213 this thing1697 also that thou hast spoken:1696 for thou hast found4672 grace2580 in my sight,5869 and I know3045 thee by name.

18 And he said,559 I beseech thee,4994 shew7200 me thy glory.

19 And he said,559 I will make all my goodness2898 pass5674 before thee, and I will proclaim7121 the name8034 of the Lord3068 before6440 thee; and will be gracious2603 to whom I will be gracious,2603 and will shew mercy7355 on whom I will shew mercy.

20C And he said,559 Thou canst3201 not see7200 my face:6440 for there shall no man120 see7200 me, and live.

21 And the Lord3068 said,559 Behold, there is a place4725 by me, and thou shalt stand5324 upon a rock:

22C And it shall come to pass, while my glory3519 passeth by,5674 that I will put7760 thee in a clift5366 of the rock,6697 and will cover5526 thee with my hand3709 while5704 I pass by:

23C And I will take5493 away mine hand,3709 and thou shalt see7200 my back parts:268 but my face6440 shall not be seen.

34CAnd the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Hew6458 thee two8147 tables3871 of stone68 like unto the first:7223 and I will write3789 upon these tables3871 the words1697 that were in the first7223 tables,3871 which thou brakest.

2 And be ready3559 in the morning,1242 and come up5927 in the morning1242 unto mount2022 Sinai,5514 and present5324 thyself there to me in the top7218 of the mount.

3 And no man376 shall come up5927 with thee, neither408 let any man376 be seen7200 throughout all the mount;2022 neither let the flocks6629 nor herds1241 feed7462 before4136 that mount.

4C And he hewed6458 two8147 tables3871 of stone68 like unto the first;7223 and Moses4872 rose up early7925 in the morning,1242 and went up5927 unto mount2022 Sinai,5514 as the Lord3068 had commanded6680 him, and took3947 in his hand3027 the two8147 tables3871 of stone.

5 And the Lord3068 descended3381 in the cloud,6051 and stood3320 with him there, and proclaimed7121 the name8034 of the Lord.

6 And the Lord3068 passed by5674 before him,6440 and proclaimed,7121 The Lord,3068 The Lord3068 God,410 merciful7349 and gracious,2587 longsuffering,750639 and abundant7227 in goodness2617 and truth,

7C Keeping5341 mercy2617 for thousands,505 forgiving5375 iniquity5771 and transgression6588 and sin,2403 and that will by no means5352 clear5352 the guilty; visiting6485 the iniquity5771 of the fathers1 upon the children,1121 and upon the children's1121 children, unto the third8029 and to the fourth

8 And Moses4872 made haste,4116 and bowed his head6915 toward the earth,776 and worshipped.

9C And he said,559 If now I have found4672 grace2580 in thy sight,5869 O Lord,136 let my Lord,136 I pray thee, go3212 among7130 us; for it is a stiffnecked71866203 people;5971 and pardon5545 our iniquity5771 and our sin,2403 and take us for thine inheritance.

10 And he said,559 Behold, I make3772 a covenant:1285 before all thy people5971 I will do6213 marvels,6381 such as have not been done1254 in all the earth,776 nor in any nation:1471 and all the people5971 among7130 which thou art shall see7200 the work4639 of the Lord:3068 for it is a terrible thing3372 that I will do

11 Observe8104 thou that which I command6680 thee this day:3117 behold, I drive out1644 before6440 thee the Amorite,567 and the Canaanite,3669 and the Hittite,2850 and the Perizzite,6522 and the Hivite,2340 and the Jebusite.

12 Take heed8104 to thyself, lest thou make3772 a covenant1285 with the inhabitants3427 of the land776 whither thou goest,935 lest it be for a snare4170 in the midst

13 But ye shall destroy5422 their altars,4196 break7665 their images,4676 and cut down3772 their groves:

14 For thou shalt worship7812 no other312 god:410 for the Lord,3068 whose name8034 is Jealous,7067 is a jealous7067 God:

15 Lest thou make3772 a covenant1285 with the inhabitants3427 of the land,776 and they go a whoring2181 after310 their gods,430 and do sacrifice2076 unto their gods,430 and one call7121 thee, and thou eat398 of his sacrifice;

16 And thou take3947 of their daughters1323 unto thy sons,1121 and their daughters1323 go a whoring2181 after310 their gods,430 and make2181 thy sons1121 go a whoring2181 after310 their gods.

17 Thou shalt make6213 thee no molten4541 gods.

18 The feast2282 of unleavened bread4682 shalt thou keep.8104 Seven7651 days3117 thou shalt eat398 unleavened bread,4682 as I commanded6680 thee, in the time4150 of the month2320 Abib:24 for in the month2320 Abib24 thou camest out3318 from Egypt.

19 All that openeth6363 the matrix7358 is mine; and every firstling6363 among thy cattle,4735 whether ox7794 or sheep,7716 <em>that is male

20 But the firstling6363 of an ass2543 thou shalt redeem6299 with a lamb:7716 and if thou redeem6299 him not, then shalt thou break his neck.6202 All the firstborn1060 of thy sons1121 thou shalt redeem.6299 And none shall appear7200 before6440 me empty.

21C Six8337 days3117 thou shalt work,5647 but on the seventh7637 day3117 thou shalt rest:7673 in earing time2758 and in harvest7105 thou shalt rest.

22 And thou shalt observe6213 the feast2282 of weeks,7620 of the firstfruits1061 of wheat2406 harvest,7105 and the feast2282 of ingathering614 at the year's8141 end.

23 Thrice64717969 in the year8141 shall all your men children2138 appear7200 before6440 the Lord113 God,3068 the God430 of Israel.

24 For I will cast out3423 the nations1471 before6440 thee, and enlarge7337 thy borders:1366 neither shall any man376 desire2530 thy land,776 when thou shalt go up5927 to appear7200 before6440 the Lord3068 thy God430 thrice64717969 in the year.

25C Thou shalt not offer7819 the blood1818 of my sacrifice2077 with leaven;2557 neither shall the sacrifice2077 of the feast2282 of the passover6453 be left3885 unto the morning.

26 The first7225 of the firstfruits1061 of thy land127 thou shalt bring935 unto the house1004 of the Lord3068 thy God.430 Thou shalt not seethe1310 a kid1423 in his mother's517 milk.

27C And the Lord3068 said559 unto Moses,4872 Write3789 thou these words:1697 for after the tenor6310 of these words1697 I have made3772 a covenant1285 with thee and with Israel.

28C And he was there with the Lord3068 forty705 days3117 and forty705 nights;3915 he did neither eat398 bread,3899 nor drink8354 water.4325 And he wrote3789 upon the tables3871 the words1697 of the covenant,1285 the ten6235 commandments.

29C And it came to pass, when Moses4872 came down3381 from mount2022 Sinai5514 with the two8147 tables3871 of testimony5715 in Moses'4872 hand,3027 when he came down3381 from the mount,2022 that Moses4872 wist3045 not that the skin5785 of his face6440 shone7160 while he talked

30C And when Aaron175 and all the children1121 of Israel3478 saw7200 Moses,4872 behold, the skin5785 of his face6440 shone;7160 and they were afraid3372 to come nigh

31 And Moses4872 called7121 unto them; and Aaron175 and all the rulers5387 of the congregation5712 returned7725 unto him: and Moses4872 talked

32 And afterward310 all the children1121 of Israel3478 came nigh:5066 and he gave them in commandment6680 all that the Lord3068 had spoken1696 with him in mount2022 Sinai.

33C And till Moses4872 had done3615 speaking1696 with them, he put5414 a vail4533 on his face.

34 But when Moses4872 went in935 before6440 the Lord3068 to speak1696 with him, he took5493 the vail4533 off,5493 until he came out.3318 And he came out,3318 and spake1696 unto the children1121 of Israel3478 that which he was commanded.

35 And the children1121 of Israel3478 saw7200 the face6440 of Moses,4872 that the skin5785 of Moses'4872 face6440 shone:7160 and Moses4872 put7725 the vail4533 upon his face6440 again,7725 until he went935 in to speak

42 According to all that the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses,4872 so the children1121 of Israel3478 made6213 all the work.

43 And Moses4872 did look7200 upon all3651 the work,4399 and, behold, they had done6213 it as the Lord3068 had commanded,6680 even so had they done6213 it: and Moses4872 blessed

40And the Lord3068 spake1696 unto Moses,4872 saying,

10 And thou shalt anoint4886 the altar4196 of the burnt offering,5930 and all his vessels,3627 and sanctify6942 the altar:4196 and it shall be an altar4196 most6944 holy.

11 And thou shalt anoint4886 the laver3595 and his foot,3653 and sanctify

12C And thou shalt bring7126 Aaron175 and his sons1121 unto the door6607 of the tabernacle168 of the congregation,4150 and wash7364 them with water.

13C And thou shalt put3847 upon Aaron175 the holy6944 garments,899 and anoint4886 him, and sanctify6942 him; that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

14 And thou shalt bring7126 his sons,1121 and clothe3847 them with coats:

15C And thou shalt anoint4886 them, as thou didst anoint4886 their father,1 that they may minister unto me in the priest's office:3547 for their anointing4888 shall surely be an everlasting5769 priesthood3550 throughout their generations.

16 Thus did6213 Moses:4872 according to all that the Lord3068 commanded6680 him, so did

17 And it came to pass in the first7223 month2320 in the second8145 year,8141 on the first259 day of the month,2320 that the tabernacle4908 was reared up.

18 And Moses4872 reared up6965 the tabernacle,4908 and fastened5414 his sockets,134 and set up7760 the boards7175 thereof, and put5414 in the bars1280 thereof, and reared up6965 his pillars.

19 And he spread abroad6566 the tent168 over the tabernacle,4908 and put7760 the covering4372 of the tent168 above4605 upon it; as the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses.

20C And he took3947 and put5414 the testimony5715 into the ark,727 and set7760 the staves905 on the ark,727 and put5414 the mercy seat3727 above4605 upon the ark:

21 And he brought935 the ark727 into the tabernacle,4908 and set up7760 the vail6532 of the covering,4539 and covered5526 the ark727 of the testimony;5715 as the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses.

22C And he put5414 the table7979 in the tent168 of the congregation,4150 upon the side3409 of the tabernacle4908 northward,6828 without2351 the vail.

23C And he set6187 the bread3899 in order6186 upon it before6440 the Lord;3068 as the Lord3068 had commanded6680 Moses.

24C And he put7760 the candlestick4501 in the tent168 of the congregation,4150 over against5227 the table,7979 on the side3409 of the tabernacle4908 southward.

25C And he lighted5927 the lamps5216 before6440 the Lord;3068 as the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses.

26C And he put7760 the golden2091 altar4196 in the tent168 of the congregation4150 before6440 the vail:

27 And he burnt6999 sweet5561 incense7004 thereon; as the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses.

28 And he set up7760 the hanging4539 at the door6607 of the tabernacle.

29 And he put7760 the altar4196 of burnt offering5930 by the door6607 of the tabernacle4908 of the tent168 of the congregation,4150 and offered5927 upon it the burnt offering5930 and the meat offering;4503 as the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses.

30 And he set7760 the laver3595 between the tent168 of the congregation4150 and the altar,4196 and put5414 water4325 there, to wash

31 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 and his sons1121 washed7364 their hands3027 and their feet

32 When they went935 into the tent168 of the congregation,4150 and when they came near7126 unto the altar,4196 they washed;7364 as the Lord3068 commanded6680 Moses.

33 And he reared up6965 the court2691 round about5439 the tabernacle4908 and the altar,4196 and set up5414 the hanging4539 of the court2691 gate.8179 So Moses4872 finished3615 the work.

34C Then a cloud6051 covered3680 the tent168 of the congregation,4150 and the glory3519 of the Lord3068 filled4390 the tabernacle.

35 And Moses4872 was not able3201 to enter935 into the tent168 of the congregation,4150 because the cloud6051 abode7931 thereon, and the glory3519 of the Lord3068 filled4390 the tabernacle.

36C And when the cloud6051 was taken up5927 from5921 over the tabernacle,4908 the children1121 of Israel3478 went onward5265 in all their journeys:

37 But if the cloud6051 were not taken up,5927 then they journeyed5265 not till the day3117 that it was taken up.

38 For the cloud6051 of the Lord3068 was upon the tabernacle4908 by day,3119 and fire784 was on it by night,3915 in the sight5869 of all the house1004 of Israel,3478 throughout all their journeys.
